I play WAR and resubbed and all. I am getting increasingly worried about their population problems though. It's a problem for me to find people on my server, and when I see the much debated Xfire trend I don't know what to think anymore. www.xfire.com/games/who/Warhammer_Online_Age_of_Reckoning/ I see that WAR is down to an all time low today as well as yesterday. I have never seen that player number below 10000 and now it is suddenly on it's way to 8000. Also if I look on the trends of that Hoursplayed curve it looks very depressing. I am no math genious but I do see a drop, which is close to -25% gaming over the last two weeks. WTF is this? Does this mean that people are really quitting already? Last thing. I also have seen server population status go down to low and medium for all/most servers. I know MJ made some comments on that server population cap was increased and that is part of the explanation. But looking on all these other indicators I think he is not telling us the full truth. What are your thoughts on this? Is Michael Jacobs lieing? If so my patience with this guy start to run out. |

nah, it is obvious that the free month ran out and MANY didnt resub. Some people probably will wait for the patch to re-reroll one of the new classes and hopefully RvR will get better. |

Enough with the Xfire doom and gloom posts. Imo about 1% of the freaking community uses that thing. Hell I haven't turned mine on in three months. It's no indication of anything. Ultima ONline (3 Years) |

Xfire is a good indicator, it doesn't rappresent all players of course, but it show a trend. |

Pretty much the norm for any new game. Lots of hype drives up initial sales then sales drop down and the first month a bunch of people quit. Every month more people will quit and sales will replace them. It will take time till these two balance out. So it will drop for awhile. The good news is that it hasn't been droping super fast so the game is probably gonna level out at a reasonably high number. |

I just checked the XFire site (never heard of them before), and WAR is #6 on the list, with about 1/10 the number of hours played as WoW, and 5 times as many as the next highest MMO, Lotro. Not too bad, actually better than I expected to see with all the monkey poo flying around here. |

This trend will continue for quite some time. if it was the free month alone you would see a dip and then a plateau.
WAR has other problems and people are slowly gettign frustrated and not playing. Many people said to themselves they will give it another month but don't feel like loggin in anymore.
The T3+ grind and the RvR mess and the population problems are slowly killing the chance for this game to be anything but niche.
The population problem epsecially since that will not be fixed in a month and there is no way people will tolerate it for another month. And as more people leave it will get worse and worse.
By the time server trasnfers roll around in a month and a half most people on those servers will either have rerolled or canceled. |

Are you still playing and having fun? If so then I don't think you have much to worry about Originally posted by GTwander: How are you an MMO? Or any of us for that matter? I say we strike all users from the site for not being MMOs. |

The comment of the free month is gone is a correct one. You also have to understand that other games have come out too. I love Warhammer, the game is good and I love the Warhammer Universe. Far Cry 2 is now out (and it is freaking awesome), so I wont be playing Warhammer like I was. Once I get my taste of FC2, then I will be back on Warhammer. It really depends on the server you play on also. You enjoyment factor will sky rocket if your in a good guild. It really is a good game and a new game. If they keep the trend up, it will be one to beat for awhile in its field. You will see a big jump in subs for Christmas. |

That is what people said about Age of Conan and Xfire and look what happened there. I've never been a strong believer in Xfire stats, but it does seem to be a pretty accurate as a trending tool for PvP game launches. I think the original poster has good reason to be concerned.
I don't think people are burning their CDs like they did with Conan, but I do think there are a lot of people who feel let down. Many of those are taking a wait and see attitude. Nov13th and when ever Mythic releases patch 1.1 [estimated for December] will really set the mark for this game for a long time to come.
Personally I think Mythic is crazy for waiting until December, but it is their game. |

I wouldnt sweat the game pop at this point. WIth 2 xpacs coming out soon and the free month ending people probably just went back to their old games. People will be back when the big patch comes in december and its actually about the time the newness will fade from the new Xpacs coming out. People are gonna wanna try out the new games but WOW is not really bring anything new that will have longevity to keep people playing. By december people will be back to doing arena season 5 and afking alterac valley again and will feel deja vu from the past year. World PVP has not worked in WOW since its first year and I dont see a reason for that to change. I have full confidence that mythic will do what is needed for the game so I can wait till december Playing- Lotro |

If things start to get nasty we will see the removed classes sooner then the december release they have set now. Aslo, populations are fine just ignore the doom and gloom and play what you like. It's a Jeep thing. . .

Although the way new MMO's are being recieved as of the past year I wouldnt be surprised to see the WOW forums looking the same way all other new game forums look here soon. If his theory was correct then people would never go back to other games once they quit them the first time but lots of people do. By december people will have their teir 7/ arena season 5 gear and probably wonder how high they plan to go in tier numbers/ season numbers before they realize the carrot is rotten and its the same stuff they have been doing for years.
