This is sadly ironic and should be evidence to Mythic that RvR rewards will drive RvR! Blizz recently released Patch 3.02 and in said patch there is an achievments tab (their version of the ToK). If you kill the leaders of the major cities you get a special bear mount. There have been constant raids all weekend on all of the major cities... all for a stupid mount! There is more RvR right now in WoW than in WAR! It makes me sad, because as many have written, this game was marketed ias an RvR game. How is it that this lame PvE (wanna be PvP) game I played for the last 2.5 years can pull this off, but the RvR game we all waited for cannot? Hmm Mr. Jacobs??? Hmm??? |

this post is sadly ironic. Ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent. |

Where's the achievement for *defending* your capitol city? All Blizzard has done is encourage what amounts to kill-trading for raid bosses that are open to griefing by the opposing side. There is no benefit in preventing the opposing team from completing the kill, and there is no penalty for allowing them to. "Kill X for a special mount" is about all Blizzard can come up with for "content" these days. |

i remember when mounts were cool to get in WoW. Now everything has a dozen and it's annoying. ======================== |

I don't disagree with you at all. All I am saying is that it has given an opportunity for people who choose to RvR... all we get in WAR is instances... well all you get cuz my sub ended yesterday. |

Oddly the joke is on WoWers... because the last time I raided SW was about 6 months ago. It was a 200 person raid. We got to the King in 5 minutes, then the server crashed. Blizz servers can't handle that kind of stress. No one will ever get that mount LOL! After that raid I pretty much quit. It gave me a taste of what was to come in WAR! RvR all the way to 40... so I thought... RvR lakes are deserts... no RvR... |

Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started. |

To the person who mentioned defending.. again.. the irony is that if you read the WOW forums you'll see people talking about getting wiped on the city leaders because players ARE defending their city leaders Now. ready the reports from the 'city seige' in warhammer where order sat around queueing for scenarios while their city was conquered. If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |

Well, that's true, but to be fair there's a lot of reasons for that, not the least of which is the game being so new and everyone is still pretty low level. It's also extremely difficult to put up any kind of resistance against a team unless you have a team yourself, and your typical PuG group just won't cut it. People find it much easier to solo-queue for scenarios than to arrange a group to fight back. I'm sure the guild that performed the siege had also encouraged their members to level quickly, specifically for an event like that, while the Order had no such encouragement and so were left woefully unprepared. I don't know whether that's good or bad but either way you can't be blaming the game just because the players are too lazy/stupid to do what they're supposed to be doing. |

RVR in wow? that got to be a really big joke.. where exactly is the rvr action? unless i can capture crossroads and make it a alliance base, or take over orgrimmar and make it a alliance city.. it just cant be called RVR.. rvr & pvp is not the same, because rvr dosnt need to have pvp to be rvr. |

Eh, in a couple of days when all 10 million players have a bear mount no one will really care. The flaw of item driven RvR is that eventually most people will have it, and those who don't will not be able to enlist the help of those who do to further their own achievements.
Congrats, item-driven PvP. The contents of this post do not necessarily reflect the views of MMORPG.com and its management. |

That very example has played out in previous open world pvp objectives in WoW. Once people got the rewards from it they moved on leaving the pvp area dead. |

No rvr in WAR? I've been doing tier 3 keep seiges/defense all day today. There has been giant battles going on pretty much all day. This happens on my server every weekend, and most week nights as well. /shrug I only do scenarios during off peak hours when open rvr dies down. In my personal experience open rvr really ramped up in tier 3. The rvr lakes in tier 2 were pretty empty, and except nordlad in in tier 1 they were pretty empty too. About two weeks ago the WAR in tier 3 on my server really got going. That's when my bloodlust began, and now I can't wait to get to tier 4. |

Got to agree the higher teir open RvR lakes can host some pretty epic battles, and to add to that they have incentive to take and defend those objectives especially if you're nonguilded. Keeps are much more convienent to access if you need RR training or want to upgrade RvR gear. |
