Not that graphics are going to make this game, gameplay will, but those most certainly shows the game is a bit long in the tooth graphics wise.  If you are impressed by those graphics, you have not played any MMO in the last 5 years at all.

Still waiting for beta to start.  Hopefully it will be soon or we won't see the game this year.

Not bad at all. Some of the lighting was good on the backs of some of the characters. Animations still look a bit weak but its still beta. I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

I played plenty of games, aside from Age of Conan  there is no other game on the market that has this kind of detail not even Warhammer which I am playing right now. The graphics for darkfall look very crisp, which I can't say for vast majority of the games out there, most screenshots and previous videos that we have seen don't do this game any justice.

now that was some actual gameplay - no one can deny that

character animations were pretty crappy and should we have to suffer skating these days - nope but there it is

the entire time i was watching that central character i was wondering how he could see where he was going while holding that big club before his face

water seems to have been improved since the last big video - quite a bit actually

good lighting too

now if only the beta would start - we know when it ends but when does it begin???

Those ships are still ugly as heck! I really want to yell at them for doing a crap job on them. I am still not impressed by the graphics. 

But as other have say gameplay is better than graphics.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but seriously that second video made me feel like I was watching a Heretic II video.

i think what we saw of the ships and their battle was from the previous video (at least i hope so)

Technically all fantasy based MMOs are based on JRR Tolkien's work.  Tolkein started everything there is to do with fantasy.  He was simply making a reference that most people would connect with.

actually it's based on an old engine with no dynamic loading system  lol

Seriously.. based on this video the game looks just terrible. I can't imagine how anyone could get excited over something like that.  The gameplay looks like it's non existent or composed of nothing but mindless hack and slash..

and the graphics look severely outdated.  It's not so much because their using older tech , but the actual art work and modelling itself is not very good which just makes it look worse..

WoW for example is very low poly.. but they have awesome artists who know how to properly model and texture low poly and still make it look quality.

Uhhh....I'll take the "outdated graphics". The only games that have actually pushed graphics lately are Vanguard and Age of Conan, and neither of those did very well.

I understand the DF dev team is small but Imo they really need to find a way to upgrade that graphics engine.

You guys can say Gameplay>Graphics all you want but its a fact that games with shitty graphics turn away potential customers. Just ask the AO devs if bad graphics don't hurt a game.

I'm going to play this but the graphics almost totally kill it for me.

Content and gameplay are what make or break a game today.

I used WoW as an example because you brought it up but the same applies to pretty much all MMO's these days.
