I certainly have not been on boards screaming about the game or its problems which wre and are quite big.But a company that steals my money afetr i have ended my sub are common thieves.

 

You can steal from me but in the end i as many others will let people know exactly what kind of integrity you company stands for.. Your short term profit by stealing my money will only mean that this company will never be trusted no matter what game they decide to do in future..

 

Nor will anyone i know play anything you put out..

 

cheaters and thives should be banned from the industry

I saw this same post in the AoC offical forums and here is what happened to the person. He cancled his sub too late because he thought that the sub was active from the time the money was with drawn from his account, but billing isn't done this way. It takes 5 days from the time that the bill hits the bank( for it to be removed from you account. During these 5 days you are given a "grace period" so to speak of play time until the money actually reaches FC. Normally, it would only be 1-3 days depending on how you set up your payment system, but since FC does not have an american affiliate it takes longer.

If the above poster isn't the same person then you can e-mail FC and they will fix the problem, I know they have for a couple of people. its not FCs fault, but their banking systems fault for not being updated correctly since its all atuomated. Its not like an MMO company maually submits their bills to banks anymore.

Well it certainly wasnt me who posted as i cancelled 2 months ago and deleted game despite still having time to play. Noticed today that Funcom took money from my account this week.That is stealing and nothing else..

 

And in the end they will pay. Cause nobody i know will ever trust them again no matter what they produce..

2 months ago and still got chraged? Are you sure you cancled? Did you get the "why are you leaving" survery and actually fill it out. If I remember correctly, unless you actually fill that thing out and hit the "yea I'm sure I want to cancle" button your account is canacled.

Just e-mail them and they will fix it if you actually cancled.

Just email them and they will refund it.  They accidently charged me VAT because they thought my credit card was from France and when I emailed them they reversed the whole month for me as an apology. I am not a current subscriber and don't think the game is that awesome but you are acting very childish in the way you are going about this.

Always remove your CC info when u cancel.

On a side note; i never cancelled my sub just removed my CC info, if i add it again will i be charged for the months that gone by? :P

But seriously...I don't understand why all of you feel that you need to come to these boards and act as if what you are doing is to cleanse the land of those evil doers (I suppose that would be Funcom) and to defend the holy ones (I guess that's Mythic?). In the end I don't care what they have done in the past. If the game is fun, I'm going to play it. All companies lie. Hell, the government lies to you more than Funcom. Get over it. Lying happens. If the game is fun for me...I'll give them my money to play. If it sucks...I'll stop playing and maybe give it a try when it's more fun.

It would be great if you can troll on your main? making alts to troll is very old tactics.

 

And to stay on the topic. My cousin had the same problem. He still has'nt got any refund He was charged even though he canceled 2 months back.

Sheep pay for and play MMOs?!  I had no idea....simply amazing, that will give me cause to pause next time I eat a Gyro.  Wonder how they earn the money....must be a black market for wool?  Of course! Hence the term black sheep...how could I be so naive!

Geee... I think I gonna sue Blizzard. Same thing happens there unless you cancel in time (I can sign that). I guess that means every MMO developer is part of an league of organized criminality, whos ultimate goal is to take over the world.

I had a similar problem when I quit LoTRO - I had 2 days left to go til my subscription renewed when I chose to cancel. Still got billed for the next month by the billing company!

It's obviously a problem that happens all over the place, and might need to be seriously looked into by the industry as a whole.

As I was leaving anyway - I begrudgingly shrugged it off. If I'd chosen to leave 3 days later, I would have already payed anyway.

I don't understand why people always cry about MMO companies stealing their money after they cancel their subs. It's probably just a bug with the billing system or something. I hardly think they did this on purpose, or they are dumber than I thought. Besides you'll get your money back easily so stop crying. AoC is much bigger problems than billing.

This reminds me of a funny EE interview where he talked about how the launch went. He said "billing worked perfectly!". Yes, that was the only part of AoC worked perfectly. Probably because getting our money was first on their priority list, and they put a lot of resources into it, making sure they would get their money as fast as possible.

Exactly. I mean, expecting human companies to be perfect is flawed when humans are flawed themselves. Not trying to be a smartass here, I'm just saying that errors can and will be made by companies all over the world, albeit some are worse than others.

 

I really don't think FC is trying to "steal" from you OP. Thinking like that is beeing naive.

I agree that this is not something that only FC does. If the contract between a subscriber and the service company states that next months payment will be drawn several days before the current subscription runs out I can not see any kind of real problem.

My question is: Are FC actually specific about this in their current subscription terms?

BTW: Both my phone company and the cable company seems to be able to handle cancellation right up to the last minute so this is not unusal either.

 

Only MMO-players manage to start an argument over the amount of "sparkling" in a lightsaber...

Having some trouble elarning from the past I see. Or maybe you missed the part about people not finding it fun, cancelling and still getting charged?

Its good to see you  mock someone who has the nuts to voice his distaste and fortitude to not give the liars money while you continue to fork it over to anyone who asks

Contact your credit card company and let them know it was an unauthorized charge.   They will block it and credit your account while they investigate.   You have 30-60 days to dispute charges in the US (depending on where you live, or type of card, I believe).   I would contact them asap as it goes by the charge date I think.
