So I got my aff spec done yesterday and when I FINALLY got in at 10 o'clock at night I updated the new spec and went into AV to try it out.  My lock is in all T4/T5/S2 gear, only none epic item is medallion of horde trinket and I was getting ONE SHOT.  

Yes ONE SHOT folks.  That NEVER used to happen to me before the patch.  The most now I last against a melee profession if I cant get off a fear is 3 shots.  Oh and how about the fact I have to stand there like a lump of wood to cast on top of it!!!  Instant cast dots now say cannot cast while moving!!!!

I'm hoping this is balanced out at level 80 because at level 70 warlock is so horribly nerfed it's not even funny.

Try being a healer with these kinds of DPS outputs.

Perhaps they balanced the classes for level 80, but this ain't funny.

I blame the Beta testers, at least they should have warned us.

 Well good thing is I have a lvl 70 shammy, druid and 67 huntard so I have other classes I can play.  But lock was definately my favorite.  Will miss the class because as it stands now, lock in unplayable.

heheh...locks have been relative crap since TBC was introduced. you should feel lucky you're only just now realizing the futility of the class.

Umm,you do know that t4/t5 gear is raid gear,not pvp gear and that is why you are probably getting your tail waxed.Try using pvp gear and play with your spec for awhile. My lock is not having much trouble at all in pvp.Try this too,Do not think 1 vs. 1,think group tactics,because in wow they are group focused. Goodluck with your warlock they are not as bad as everyone is making them out to be.Everyone is too used to being over powered,and now that they are more in line its to be expected. Destruction Spec is putting out some really awesome dps.
 

Try checking the Warlock forums. Players are putting new builds together that are actually working out well. Nothing solid yet, but It's leaning towards Demo/Destro now.

UMM i cast dots while moving all the time... but ok

My lock isn't very happy right now either. I kind of knew I wasn't going to be pleased with it from the feedback on the beta forums. Meta is pretty fun, the rest is just very boring and bland, doesn't give the refreshed feeling like I get on my others. I dunno if I'm going to continue to play it as my main or not in WoTLK. Hopefully DK is fun.

I wager that a PvP DPS cut is coming soon

don't have my locks acct active right now, but didn't they make soullink an 11 point talent? so pretty  much every lock should have it in PvP for the 30% mitigation right?

my first thought is it wont change much. maybe affliction locks with the felhound out will get a nice treat in the new placement of soul link. but given affliction needs time for the DoTs to tick it kind of makes sense. a destro lock is best complimented with the succubus, so SL doesn't make sense for that build, she dies too quick. and if you're a demo lock you'd naturally have SL anyway.

Damn, time to rework my setup.

good about time the laziest class in the game got nurfed. sorry no more shadow bolt spam. But dont expect much to chage for you. retadins are gunna get nurfed and warriors can only use bladestorm every 1.5 mins. rogues...are just rogues. Locks are fine especially the ones that are smart enough to grab SL.

I'm more worried about mages doing 70-80% of my hp with that new arcane shit in under 2 seconds. I know they were rather lacking in the PvP department, but I would at least like a chance at surviving ;).

After reading all the posts in the thread....I'm still scratching my head wondering why you're doing PvP in raid gear.  Raid gear doesn't have near enough (if ANY) resilience on it.  There's no way I'd run BGs or arenas in my raid gear, any more than I would raid in my PvP gear. 

I'm actually really LIKING my 70 lock atm.  I was spec'd 0/21/40 for raiding.  I gave up sacrifice to go deeper into the destro tree, and so far....I'm lovin' it. :)  HOWEVER....I don't think I would stay this spec for PvP, and I DEFINITELY would not be wearing my raid gear TO PvP.  But...to each their own, I suppose. :)

Here is a good example of why WoW is a huge time sinc. No offense to you girlgeek, but we need 5 different sets of gear just to enjoy the game lol. This needs to be fixed period.

WoW needs to make gear that can be used in PVP and in raids. The whole concept of having to grind to get all these different sets is mind bogling. As far as locks are concerned they are alot of fun, but it sucks when your required to go SL/SL just to survive in PVP.

SL is only 15% damage reduction now .

I'm killing ppl with my lock... problem isn't the game man.. it's you.  Adapt.

I love the patch, if you're having issues, roll a new class - I hear Pally is hot  these days - or go take some time and figure out what you are screwing up, because locks are doing just fine.

It is not your fault, locks sux now to bad.

Pallys will 2 shot you all night in their sleep.

Why becuase lock populatiosn are too high and blizzard just started a new breeding program, one to cut back on your population.

They do it all the time your turn to suck. (Not that warriors or rouge ever need to fear). 

See what blizzard also did was increased players abilities by 50% (other than some specs of shaman, and locks) and then made no changes to anythign to balence it for pvp (like always). no worrys you 15k relisience level 70 gear will be avalible in wotlk please wait till then. (oh and as a lock youll still suck, spec affliction its literally the only spec now.)

slsl is arena, bg's and world pvp are a different story, you dont need the survivability when theres 9-40 others to work with.  Lots of viable specs for pvp... just for 2v2 arena slsl is key.   thats why I dont arena, plenty of 1v1 or group action in any bg to get my fix from.

and gear?  I like it the way it is, if I want to do both I should have to put in the time to get good at both aspects of the game to earn the gear.  If Im wearing full pvp you know Im not running my first bg, and in most cases that experience leads to tactical skill...put into practice earns better tools to play that part of the game with.  The gear is a reward for participation.

Same with pve, if I dont do it, I shouldnt be walking into a new instance geared to match the vets.  Theyve got hours.. days in even.   Those sets are a goal, something to work towards...the value is lost if sets become generic.

IMO of course.
