Personally, I only find myself motivated to click on the games from the list over on the left that I own and I am playing. So I kind of see what the OP is saying. If I'm not playing a game, then I really don't care about it too much. Unless it's a game I left and I'm checking up on it from time to time to see what kind of changes have been made. I look at it more from a psychological motivation standpoint. It's sort of a curious behavior to me. I have to keep sorting through the titles that read "This Game Sucks" or something similar and I find it sort of just weird that people do it. I'm okay with their freedom to do it, but I still find it strange. Like I said, my motivation is to click on the games I'm actually playing. -------------------------------------- |

Actually, it makes perfect sense. I bought WAR, imported the US verison which resulted in me paying around 100$ for it. I didn't like the whole headstart system but I could've cared less, I happily made a dwarf ironbreaker and found myself to be enjoying the game. The game ran like shit on my system which can run Hellgate London on high settings without glitches, heck it even does a good job at Crysis. However, at maximum framerate settings it ran "ok", that being said it doesn't even look very good on a system that can run it well. I didn't mind though, because I was having decent fun. Then I realised that the grind to 40 was basically one long bg-grind to 40 and after that it'd most likely just be poor poorly designed BG's, the world PvP seemed dead and the Warhammer lore was just raped entirely (as expected). I'm sorry, I don't mind grinds (heck I played EQ to 70) but I've done AV in WoW once already and AV was much more fun, mind you. The game quickly got booring, I uninstalled and cancelled my sub. I want my money back but noo..
So this is a warning, if you want a game where the PvP is fun and you don't have to grind the same shit over and over again, then don't play WAR. At least the shit you had to grind in WoW had shiny colors.
FUCK WAR. |

You have to ask yourself. Would you rather people express their displeasure here on the forums or on the game? Unlike the game, you can choose whether or not you wish to read a thread. Once you read something someone says in the game you can't "Un-read" it. Let people express how they feel about the game. As long as people do it in an orderly way, I don't see any problem with it. People want to feel like they belong somewhere. Instead of exploding in the face of someone who is upset with the game, try helping them overcome the faults. Many people may be more inclined to stay with the game if they can find friends within a community. People here on MMORPG tend to take sides. Those for the game and those against the game. Every now and again you have radical thinkers that attempt to throw this balance out of whack. If you truly care about the game you can relate to all sides. After all, if you continue to scare people away, what hope is there for the future of the game? Mythic may make the game, but the players are what pay their pay check! |

the problem is that people just don’t play and game and enjoy it for what it is, they tend to hate it for what its not. I think a lot of it has to do with these games becoming the focus of a lot of teenagers lives, causing them to be relentless in scrutinizing them. A lot of these guys are looking for the perfect mmo, most of them have been (is so sad this is true) hurt emotionally by games, like getting a girlfriend and having her dump you. You can see it in the overall hate in some of these posts. Granted I bet a majority of these post come from a handful of people, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that they are on a competing game's payroll, but that’s most likely the people making logical excuses for why they don’t like the game. i miss the old days when mmo where played for what they where, and if you didn’t enjoy it you moved on, no hard feelings. you can see this loathing in the posts of players with failcom avatars, signatures bragging about how much they hate SOE, so on and so forth. Its pretty sad to place so much emotion on a game, something meant to pass the time, entertain, but not be the focus of you life. so here we are, posting about a game sucks because the graphics aren’t next gen photo realistic, or that the game lacks an overall chartroom, or that game play isn’t what you want, or that there’s a few bugs still weeks after release. I think everyone needs to relax about which game the best and which game is slightly less good and therefore sucks horribly and will fail. There a lot of more important things to get all worked up about than whether or not a mmorpg is the best game ever or just a fun game. |

Why cant people understand that the ONLY difference between a troll and a fanboy is whether or not they like the game or not??? |

I came to the WAR forums months ago my friend, because I was interested in the game. I purchased the game at release and love it. As I pointed out, I have been playing MMOs since '99 -- I never once in that time have felt the need, urge or desire to go to a games forums and talk trash about it -- again, it is clear that ALOT and I do mean ALOT of the negative posters here have NEVER played the game. For anyone who has played WAR, it is easy to tell those who have nothing more to say other then it is not good. yes you and anyone else is free to come to a games forums and talk about it negatively, just as I am free to call those people out for having nothing better to do with their lives. I am here beacause I PLAY THE GAME.
umm...get it ? |

I like WAR. I'm not saying "It's the BESTEST MMO EVA!", no that was Asheron's Call, but it's a fun casual game. If you dislike grinding to max level, you should really try just relaxing and having fun playing the game. Nothing is more disappointing than shelling out $50+ for a game and then beating it in a day. *cough* The Force Unleashed. *cough* |

People are geting relentles with there post's now. I myself have been playing MMO's since 1998 with that said im sick and tired of ppl downing other MMO's it has gotten out of hand. All i hear is WoW is the best MMORPG ever and WAR sucks well i will post my opinion on them both. I will start with WAR i have played WAR since Preview weekend and it was a new concept for me The RvR was great at first then got boring due to ppl not careing and not working together. The PvE is lacking big time sure you got PQ's and quests but there isnt enough there to keep a PvE orientated person Bussy. I know the game is built around RvR but for war to be 100% sucsessfull it needs both.I am in no way saying WAR sucks the game is still new and the launch was great the game still has alot of issues that i know will be fixed soon from the UI not being responsive at times to horrid lag issues evan on a super computer.I do love the game for what it is but with a few fine tweaks it can be a top MMORPG/ For me the Best MMORPG of all time still has to be EQ 1 but i will not go into why. Now for WOW if you can stomach the childish grafics the game is very good but boring and a grindfest now all you WoW fanboi's can hate the truth but you know deep down inside what im saying is the truth. The reason WoW is so sucessfull is for a few reasons it marketed in the right direction when the game came out it wasnt that known and another reason is the low System REQ needed for it i can take my computer that i have from the year 1995 and play WoW on full settings and the gsame still runs fine.that was smart on there part. Now for the playability of WoW there is enough quests to keep ya busy for a long time and the PvP is really fun in WoW is it better then WAR not by a longshot WAR is Balanced to a point with 2 OP classes that will be fixed im sure. WoW is not balanced you can take a BM Hunter and pretty much wipe the floor in PVP. i will not go into to much more detail due to the fact i wrote more then i wanted to so for all the ppl who want to come on WAR boards and down it do us all a favor and Keep your Opinion to yourself and to all the WAR ppl do the same pls all you do is ask for trolls to come and post and get everyone else agrovated. |

Discussion forums are here for a purpose. Not just for praise and worship. If the crticism is bothering you so much, then just don't read those particular topics. Simple as. |

No expertise necessary. Just a touch of common-sense. It's a website dedicated to MMORPGs where people can come to learn about different games available, and/or discuss them... about what they do like,or don't like. There's no restriction on any point-of-view. I realize some (not all) people who like a game can't handle the fact that someone might have anything negative to say about it (and vice versa for haters), but the fact is... they exist. If negative posts bother you, block the posters and/or don't read the posts. That's a form of control you *do* have.

I for one was looking for an MMO to play for a while after playing WoW for a couple of years and ended up trying EVE for a month and thought it was horrid that even playing one of my first MMO's ( The 4th coming look it up on the list) felt better for a couple of weeks, where does that leave us? It's just not my type of MMO, doesnt mean i have to impose my opinion on everyone else who likes the game.
