ever since the last patch the lag spikes have been god damned impossible! every ten seconds just about you go to full red latency and cant move a muscle while you get stomped to death if your in a fight. so i go to the aoc official forum to see whats up and the moderator has all these excuses how its not the server its our computers that are fucked up. ive come to terms with how fucked up the game is and just want to enjoy it for what it does have to offer but now the lag makes it impossible to even do that. ANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I had these issues as well, its bloody infuriating! I feel your pain man. And then to be told its you! Trace route the server, youll see its them. EDIT: Try this one you can export the graphs straight into a post. http://visualroute.visualware.com Good luck man. Some people are like slinkies, they dont really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs. |

Yep I reactivated yesterday after quitting 2months ago because I was really bored to death only to find out to my horror that the latency spikes are getting worse! I never thought it was possible and yet there they are, every few seconds it shoots up and down again like some sterio equalizer.
Game is in fact STILL unplayable for many people months after launch!
I can't believe how I used to defend such an incompetent company. FC doesn't deserve any success. In fact they deserve to crash and burn, though of course I would never wish that to anyone. |

I never know where to side on these issues, if I were still subbed I could log in to see for myself. However, that is not the case. So I digress, and will agree who ever handled you in such a manner was wrong and deserves the boot IMO. Especially after what has transpired over the last few months. I'm willing to be it's a crappy carrier on their part, the internet is a messy buisness over in europe. Reminds me of an Anarchy Online parallel. FC banned a large Org (Guild) for it's massive exploiting over many months. The day after this group got the boot, all the login servers were down for more than 2 days, (they were hammered by a DNoS attack ). FunCom's explanation "Wasn't us, the internet was Broken" ... i sh!t you not. |

You get as deserved for returning to AoC. Even if FC told it was their problem, they would have most likely ignored the problem forever while blowing smoke in your face. Thats how many people feel that I have spoke to, including me. |

Guess the players of Anarchy Online all have shitty comps screwing up the network at the same time as Age of Conan, huh? It is savvis.net, the ISP for Funcom, that is causing the lag, disconnects, and other connectivity issues. They are a shitty ISP and Funcom has been asked REPEATEDLY over the last 7 YEARS of AO to dump them, but they refuse and continue to lay blame on the customers. |

What makes you think they will start now? OP - save yourself aggravation, time, and money and move onto another game. Don't support a company like Funcom who treat their customers in such a way. |

How about spending some time to get the whole picture from the official forums (lets be happy which Funcom provides) Concerning Lag Spikes in which he Acknowledges it's happening to some people The problem still exists for a small minority of people. It used to be larger but many people don't get them anymore.... if at all.

Sniff sniff...I smell denial. Nothing to see here, FC says 1 or 2 people get the lag so it MUST be the players crap comps that can't run the game, never mind you can uplink with nasa and send real time video with the space shuttle on your rig, it just doens't cut it with that old technology to run AoC. 1 or 2 people should be a big deal to FC right now, isn't that like 40% of the player base ? Same old crap, deny everything the game is peachy and if something is a tech issue its not them it is YOU. I mean cmon..what do you need to do..harness the power of the fukn sun to run this pos? Please..... I am sure some dimweed will write something mature (it is a mature game you know..) like Haha scrub Lrn2programz yourz comp better tool, or something equally stupid. I hope a few do honestly, it warms the heart knowing these type of rejects are in AoC instead of polluting other worthwhile games. Where's Orionman anyway? Havent heard his drivel today. |

Other games have way way much more problem on lagg than AoC. I for one do not even know what you are talking about really, cause AoC is truly laggfree to me. WAR is on the face in lagg issues. If you want to talk about lagg head over there. WAR========> That way. I challenge you, see if you can find 3 AoC therads on lagg issues (someone having a problem not just reporting his satisfaction for lagg being gone) after patch 2.0 was introduced. Last thing, did you play AoC after patch 2.0 ? |

Actually last time I checked the tech board, it was full of new problems including new lag issues from their recent patch a couple weeks ago or so. And if the problem was fixed, wouldn't it be acknowledged in that thread? You know, the one I linked.....where Funcom asked it's customers to provide technical data in May, then as thousands of posts pored in, they refused to respond further? And deleted posts about it on the gernal boards? You have no credibility at all from your many actions on these boards - I'll never even bother to touch anything you link. I will however provide a service for fellow gamers from time to time so they don't get burned like thousands of us did by Funcom. I.E. - bringing the facts to light, so they can judge for themselves. |

I brought the facts by addressing your concerns that the company hasn't acknowledged the issue. The links I put showed that, which is why I can see you jumped on the "never bothered to touch links" part. Good job. I suggest you count how many actual people are still suffering from the post where you bumped up the main thread here: forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php compared to all the people which had issues posted beforehand. So I would hardly say its full of new problems - 1.5% compared to anything pre mid August. It seems Openedge1 also got effected recently too. No one is denying its a problem and it has not gone away - Its been worked on and is a lot better for many people compared to beforehand. No wonder your so vehement from all your replies on the official forum. It seemed that it effected you too so much, you admittedly went hater. Sorry you feel that way and sorry it happened to you so much. It's a shame you haven't tried after the last patch though.

I had a really bad time with lag on Sunday - tried a few different servers, all the same. Not sure what the cause was but wow it was annoying! On the flip side whilst playing late last night there was a moment when it was as if someone decided to double the power of my PC. I had half an hour of totally sweet responsive play. It was so good I set all my graphics options to max (cept char only shadows) and nothing changed. I'm looking forward to firing it up again tonight to see if it's still the same. |

I HAVE played the game. Probably a lot longer than you and I agree with Khrynon 100%. AoC is all about graphics. Gameplay just plain old sucks. PvP is unbalanced and boring. I especially hate what they did with healers. Playing a healer needs almost zero skill. They should have implemented more direct heals. Personally I have experienced lag but it's not as big deal as the other issues are. |

combat gameplay in AoC is actually nice, however i feel a little turned off by the lag spikes after i resubbed yesterday.
Somehow i don't remember it being at the launch (EU here) but it is happening now, so that's something new, something new that's bad heh.
Anyway if Sillirion sometime *soon* could acknowledge it and hopefully fix it, then this game is at it's rebirth. After patch 3.0.
but by then many will probably be playing WotLK or Aion. |
