First, players who join a scenario and remain in their realm's spawn area for two minutes will be automatically removed from that scenario.

Second, upon entering the spawn area of a scenario, players will receive a debuff that prevents them from earning renown and experience. This debuff will be removed when the player leaves the spawn area.
 

Nans1 - Well actually you can't, since they made those AFK changes today.

It sounds like you are looking for something more along the lines of Ultima Online (one I never played but heard of severe penalties for death and PvP consequences).    Or FF (another one I never played - at least MMO side), where it took I think ages to reach max level (or does it even have one?).

If so to each his own.  I judge a game by "fun factor" first, and "stability" as well (after the AoC experience).   This game has been a lot of fun for me so far.

In terms of the depth I have to disagree so far.    Between Tome unlocking, Exploration, Separate PvE and PvE leveling.....there seems to be a lot to do to me.

I don't know if I'll sub or not. At times I find the game a bit fun, but mostly I'm just bored to tears. I'll probably take a 1 week break from the game once my sub runs out and then decide if I want to continue. I'm mostly bummed out how none of the classes really interest me. Some classes just feel unfinished, and lack the proper amount of depth for me to want to play to rank 40 and beyond. Maybe I'll wait until they start updating the classes and see how things are then.

Well they just patched it so that you cannot sit in the safe start point.  Now you wil have to hide somewhere really good to afk and still get renown or xp.  I do not think afk exploiting is a good reason to slam a game unless it is never addressed.

The combat system and and class interdependence are better than most games.  The game is not easy if you wish to succeed and playing with skill can have a real effect.  Its not as good as Guild Wars system, but its better than most MMORPGs.

Getting max level or max renown is not true success in the game. 

There are still other exploits and some cheesy tactics (destrcution magnet pull and aoe stun/knockdown is an instant mass kill with no counter and no counterpart on order side sinc ethey lack the KD and stun and using KB defeats the purpose; clearly a problem) but all in all doing well against other good players is by no means easy.

There are all kinds of risk in WAR, but they are based on realm objectives not personal loss.  Evertyime you choose to do something objective based there are multiple things you can lose or be countered by.

Many people do not find games fun that drag out the leveling process.   Makes me feel like a hamster spinning a wheel lol.

True, you could.  But. . . .why?  Go play Solitaire or something.  Its a douchebag thing to do anyway, especially to your own realm.

Imo, forums arent representative of the mass community of any MMO but if this 60% (that the poll is showing now) makes real and Mythic achieve that retention after the free month... /bow to Mythic.  That will prove they did an excellent job.

60% is a very nice retention for a new MMO.  Yes, of course, many wont agree.  I base all this on just my experience as MMO gamer and as trying (maybe too many) MMOs at release.  It's just my opinion.

I am renewing. I'm having a great time, I will say though I don't know anyone from WoW who is going to stay past WoW expansion. This is only counting the people I came to WaR with (5 of us in all). I'm only one going to stay though.

Whats going on with WaR and WoW now reminds me of what went on with DAoC and EQ years back. I was with EQ that time, missed out on alot of RvR fun. This time i'm going with RvR, i've killed thousands of PvE raid bosses (some hundreds of times!) I need a change.

I really don't think you should be playing this game. I believe you have a difficulty comprehending the basic reason why games were being played as long as human species exist - relaxation, an active pastime, harmless social activity of no real import to the mores of RL.

If it's all exp, gold and rep to you then imo you should stick to WoW. I'm not saying it to put you down but really I think WAR is not the game for you.

When I get into a scenario or a keep siege the last thing on my mind is to walk away from the computer so some numbers can increase on the screen. I pay and play this game to have fun, not to work for some numbers. I do that in RL thank you and I get something in return - the real things that I actually buy, not some virtual meaningless somethings. When I play my games I play them, not work for them.

Man just let them say what they want, they will defend this game to hell and back, probably a destro tank, happy that he can gank all the inneffective order classes

I'm not renewing my subscription, but not because I don't like the game, but because I have a new baby that isn't sleeping through the nights so my gaming time has dwindled to nothing. I'll gladly start back up once he's sleeping soundly...just another 3-4 months!!! (If I'm lucky...)
