As a long time eq2 fan, i was blown away at this GU as well, our guild hall is frikking amazing, haveing all our necessities in one spot through lots of hard playing for status is very nice, that should also cut down on server load in the cities a smart move i think, looking forward to the expansion now, :) playing eq2 and two worlds |

I find it really funny he think that his posts matter since there are only 3 or 4 people who respond to these posts as he claims. If there are only 3 or 4 of us who care or play then who is he preaching to. In fact there are 14 different people responding so far but all of us are viral marketing for SOE or fanbois. We call him a troll because that is exactly what he is. He has yet to respond to the original post. This is typical about all his posts. He has been saying the game is slowly dieing for years now. This is directed to ste2000 I have tried to engage you in discussion about games. I have even said I respect your knowledge and opinion in previous posts. However I am done with you. I will continue to talk about the many mmos that interest me. However I will never comment about your post again. So come to every post I make. Say the craziest things you want. You have not stopped me talking about EQ2. You have gotten me to finally ignore everything you post here anymore and not just what you have to say about SOE. I truely mean this you might want to stop playing mmos because you are not living in reality. Good luck in your attempts to bring SOE down. I am done with you. Sorry to those who responded to my original post I know this is off topic but I needed to clear this up. EQ2 is a wonderful game the GU #49 adds a lot of fun to the game and improves the game performance ( the dual core support has been needed for awhile). This update gives me confidence the next expansion Shadow Odyssey will be great. I will plant a little seed for a game I have been following for awhile. Chronicles of Spellbourne will go live this Nov. I will be in EQ2 until SOE turns the lights out but CoS sure has my interest. I try to keep to only 2 games at a time. Right now it is EQ2 and WAR but if it plays out. Most likely it will be EQ2 and CoS. |

The guildhalls is a good idea, EQ2 have pioneered quite a few of these... A friend of mine is that last of our old guild playing and he can actually afford the largest one by himself. Still, there is some things that needs to be done if EQ2 are to get more new subs, like the graphical revamp, multi core supposrt and a better use of fog and shadows..... I quited 6 months ago, a part of that was because I didn't like Kuunark, maybe I come back later, I did have a fun ride except the last few months. |

It seems from SOE's statements the a total graphic revamp will not happen. Remember the game is 4 years old. However they have been making the game performance better. I think that is what you can expect in the future. Small changes to performance and hopefully a few more expansions. One thing SOE has done well in my opinion is the live world events. I would love to see them focus on that and bring us more of them and more frequently. |

Don't worry about him, nobody cares. For a "dying" game, last expansion sold more copies than ANY previous expansion, including the original launch. For a "dying" game, there are more active guilds on any given server than have ever existed. For lack of "armor variation" there is more variation PER TIER of look and choices THAN ANY OTHER GAME on the market, and this has been proven on this forum more than once. While I agree that there are some aspects of the game that have been "dumbed down" and made easier and too accessible, it's usually for the best whether I like it or not. I certainly have the luxury of staying ahead of the curve and enjoy ALL the options put before me each update/expansion and certainly do enjoy those things that are made more difficult and more challenging. Plus, there are different ways of looking at challenge. How I challenge myself is my choice, as long as the choices are there. Unlike other games I will not mention, that have no choice but easy street, I like that I have so many choices in what I'd like to do each day. Sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't. As far as people harping in here on the game, we have plenty of knowledgable, down-to-earth posters more than willing to help anyone with a question about the game. Also, did anyone ever think that maybe we're busy playing the game. The game is so fun, and has so many things to do, speaking for myself, I just don't have time to post in here every day. Some of us work for a living too you know. ;) "Granted thinking for yourself could be considered a timesink of shorter or longer duration depending on how smart..or how dumb you are." |

Well said. I have been saying these things for years yet some will deny this with their last breath. I like this game a lot but hardly the only game I play. I continue to tell people about EQ2 since there is so many bad feelings about SOE mainly because of SWG. I simply want people to rethink this and give EQ2 a try. Many people here looking for a game might find EQ2 is an answer to what they are looking for. They do not need to wait for a new game EQ2 is great and well established. I also like EQ2 because it has choices of play and a lot more then people might think. It allows you to use your own creativity if you choose to. EQ2 is not perfect but it continually working to better the experience it offers. |

I believe EQII is probably the last of the true MMORPG's we will see for a while. At some point people will want to return to a D&D/MUD based game like EQ, until then EQII is the last one.

I agree with your comments. I would put Vanguard in this mix as well. It is unfortunate that Vanguard did not pan out a bit better. Some go on and on how dumbed down EQ2 has gotten but that is just not the case. Yes they have made it easier to solo but if anyone thinks the raid and level 80 group content is for the faint of heart are simply mistaken and probably never expereinced it. EQ2 at least on Mistmoore server seem more active and populated then ever. I have no idea what actual subscription numbers are but the game seems full. I think even with WoTLK, WAR, and a few other soon to be released games, EQ2 is heading for a renaissance. Despite the claims of some EQ2 is alive and well and GU #49 with the next expansion will bring new players to the game as the word spreads. |

I agree with most of what you said, but its an uncofartable truth that the game HAS gotten dumbed down since its first incarnation, theres no getting away from that..now is it a good thing or bad? well thats for the player to decide, though not a crafter by any means what they've done to it beggers beleif its gone from being far to complicated to now where its just mindless button mashing and for me i find that a shame.
As for Vanguard i agree with you,i keep dipping back into via station access and what the dev team have done there is nothing short of amazing (given the crap they had to start with),but i always come away with the feeling of what it could have been..for me that game has been the biggest let down since i started playing MMO's as it had so much potential. |

Agreed.....great update to a great game that I have enjoyed off and on since release. While I think the pinnacle release so far was EoF, I still enjoyed Kunark immensely, and have high hope for SO. The guild hall addition was great, but the thing I am most happy about it the dual-core support, which has made a world of difference performance-wise. |
