No matter what even if artifact dies,there will be someone to take over because this game still has thousands of loyal customers who pay $$ for it.

Horizons has more then twice the amount of customers AC2 has (as of last survey) abd AC2 never even thought of closing down.

except for the fact that AE is millions in debt in less than a year of operations, so few subscribers that they have to consolidate the original 8 or 9 shards into 2........... When they consolidate and if things dont go perfectly and they lose anymore customers there will be no way they can afford to keep it up and running. Dont fool yourself, they barely have any staff as it is, and are consolidating because they know the subscriber rate will never be where it was when it launched. Like someone posted in another thread AGAIN the result of launching a game that was half done, and still to this day doesnt include features advertised.........

Name an MMO that was ready for release. Take your time and think about it I'll wait...Know why you're having so much trouble? There hasn't been a single one. Hell EQ has been out for 5 years and they are still fixing things.

City of Heroes, while the software was sound there was/is no content, they are adding all that now. SWG well we all know how that released. AC2 didn't/doesn't have all the features advertised. I mean look at the list to the left there and not a single one was perfect out of the box.

I don't know about the financial status of the company, but I do know that I just started playing Hz on the free trial, and I'm having a blast, I'll be paying for this game. If people would stop jumpping on the bandwagon and just hating a game because someone else said they should. Try the game and make your own decisions. It's free what do you have to lose?

But AE and AE only is directly responsible for the sorry state the game currently is in. They fiddled farted around for 8 months which lead to chapter 11. I see lots of effort now but how come they didn't put this same effort in months ago ? Sounds like another David Bowman spin doctoring campaign to me. However the recent changes are nice and long way long over due.

But lets dispel one myth here. The filing was not voluntary they had no choice. They ignored Verio's request for financial information and used the weel that Verio gave them to file for bankruptcy. So there was again nothing voluntary about it all.

As far as an MMO being complete at release ? thats kind of impossible since by an MMO's very definition they are ALL evolving and changing and continually being developed etc. There are however degree's release quality to take into account here. Everquest Classic had a bumpy first month and after that it was relatively a stable launch and it had lots of content. Now games coming out like WoW and EQ2 for example are going to raise the standard for quality releases. WoW even without a major class is at this time more complete bug free and content filled game than Horizons is after 9 months. In fact AE will have a lot of work cut out for them if they want to even come close to matching what content WoW already has in beta.

AC2 with less players than HZ ? I wouldn't count on it. Even so AC2 had AC1's income to use in turning that game around. Turbine was never in any trouble of going belly up. AO turned things around because they didn't waste 8 months screwing around and actually worked on their game.

So AE has their work cut out for them thats for sure.

Like I said I don't know the details of the company (I'd like to know where you're getting your information though, not that I think you're lying, I just want to look for myself).

People are saying how great WoW is going to be, but then I go to the forums over there (see I like the check the facts) and the majority of the board is saying how it's nothing special. It's not a bad game, but it's not breaking any new ground either.

Same thing happened with City of Heroes too. People on these boards were saying how Task Force mission were such great high end content. I go to their boards and everyone is talking about how TF missions are awful.

My suggestion is just try the game, if you don't like if fine you haven't lost anything, but you might find another good game to play.
