It would be interesting to know the list of which media people were invited. If invitations were sent to gaming sites that focus on MMOs (such as MMORPG.com), it would be definite confirmation that the game is an MMO. Likewise, if none of the major MMO focused sites were invited, it would almost certainly discount the game from being an MMO.

The Massively article is written in a manner that makes it sound like they didn''t get an invitation of their own. The attribution to Worlds in Motion (whose article is a reproduction of a Gamasutra article) sounds as if that article is the source of Massively's information of an upcoming announcement, as opposed to the folks at Massively getting their own invitation. There was another article on Massively that stated that a reporter for Joystiq was going to the press event to cover it for both Joystiq and Massively, whch still leaves open the possibility that the announcement isn't for an MMO (an exceedingly small possibility, but it is still there).
