You are putting unfair expectations on a game if you want it to be like something from 8 years ago.

So you're saying that original EQ players would play WAR instead? I'm going to say sorry but that just doesn't seem reasonable to me. Altho I guess if I was looking for that type of game play maybe I'd go to FFXI instead of WoW but /shrug personal choice. |

I agree, WAR is like Guild Wars plus, not a more EQ-like, sandboxy game when compared to WoW. I will continue playing, as I love the PvP. |

Well you can always hope that the new Bioware MMORPG being announced on Oct. 21st doesnt suck!
Bioware is by far my favorite Co. in the video game industry right now, ive never been dissapointed by any game released by them, ever. Hopefully their venture into the dangerous waters of the MMO industry doesnt prove too daunting a task. |

If this is over immersion, I would advise you to just hang in there for a little while because I bet I know what you're problem is. I bet it has something to do with the communications issue, and they said they were working on that. I would hazard a guess that you are also feeling negative about the significance of the scenarios- that is something else that they can take care of fairly easily IMO and I think they will deal with it sooner than later. ___________________ http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/12/13/ |

I am going to have to cancel as well... just not what I am looking for. I've been away from MMORPGs for a couple months and thought that Warhammer maybe the game to bring me back into the genre (sadly it is not). To all of you that love the game, I think that is great and wish you (& the game) great fortune in the future.
Now I've just got my fingers crossed that a good 'sandbox' game will find its way into the gaming world soon. |

Originally posted by Keeper2000 why is when one is critical of a game it's considered trolling?do you have to be a complete starry eyed fanboi to post on here to be considered a serious poster? Becuase one thing is sharing with us and another is posting several posts one after another about how (all your posts): - 9/28: "At this point i'd say no.If they make some improvements like smoother less contrived combat with npc's,better chat system, smoother character movements....there are many improvements that have to be addressed.the game has potential but right now it seems like an incomplete game and not worthy of my 15 beans a month." - 9/29 "i can't get over the feeling of being alone in this game since nobody really talks.i keep hearing get in a guild...well i don't particuarly like guilds but i do like groups.and though i have grouped up a few times it's basically a self absorbed game and sometimes i feel i'm just playing a single player game.i hope they do inmprove the chat function and people start communicating.the game has a lot of potential but as is i doubt little more than half the people who bought the game will re sub." You tell us now that you goign back to WoW but said that you will go to LoTRO too: - 10/2 "I see they are giving a free weekend and i think i'm going to reinstall and check it out again.i haven't played in over a year so i'm curious.i'm defintely disappointed in war and feel lotr was a much more solid and rewarding game having now tried both.so i'll be cancelling my sub to war and may be resubbing to lotr." Then 9/28 you showed me how you are a DF Zealot: "after aoc and warhammer's failure to deliver the goods, darkfall is the last hope for an awesome game.i sure hope it delivers." So... repeating once after another after another after another how bad WAR is not just sharing. Share once. Share two and I doubt of your intentions. Then said how uber great hope DFO will be and I know you just bashing a game that you dont like. You have the right to express your opinion and I have the right to express my opinion that you are a troll and your post are not consructive. The difference is that I wont go into all your post and keep repeating it, neither I will start posting thread after thread saying it. I just share my opinion once. Resume: you have the right to repeat a ziliion times how bad WAR is for you. I have the right ot think you are just a troll.
You convinced me nethrill is a troll. And someone was right when he said if your a EQ vet why are you playing WoW.

I am a EQ Vet, played it when I was 15. It was my first MMO. I miss it and no MMO to date has touched the quality that was once EQ. |

You will never recapture the enjoyment of your first MMO. Like sex or love. |

MMORPGs aren't necessarily daunting. It's pretty simple really, and one lesson devs haven't learned since 2004-- don't cut corners in the development process. If you can't afford to spend 4-5 years developing a game, best get out before you start. |

And for the record, me being bored at wow, daoc, eq, war, lotro, tr etc. doesn't mean im burnt out of mmos, it means im burnt out of CLONES. |

Pretty much. You wont get a reasonable response here, or will just be called a "troll" because you have basically become the anti-christ of WAR for closing your account. You will be accused of "making no point" because you make a negative one, and suggest that (OMG should I say it??) WAR is not the end all be all of mmos. |

Not really saying they would play WAR for sure, but certainly not go to WoW. |

I've found WAR to be a very capable MMORPG. Not perfect, but at minimum comperable to the best current competion, while shining on some counts. What I love about WAR is that after a month or so (including Open Beta) of playing too many hours to admit to, I've just barely scratched the surface of this game. That's key to me. At least as enjoyable as any game in the genre AND a large variety and amount of content and playability. Want to know more about GW2 and why there is so much buzz?
