Just wanted to shout out that i love the game but i also like working on 3 toons at once.  I have my main champion that i work on most . Then i have a minstrel i use with a friend that can only play on weekends. Finally i made a hunter with some crafting abilities i needed to support the other 2 toons but when i want something different i'll do some quests with him.  So far i'm really enjoying having 3 toons to mess with . I know it might be better to hit 50 then make another but so far i'm enjoying running with 3 toons.

I tried that for a while, because there are differetn starter areas (Ered Luin, Shire, Combe/Archet). But then there aren't any more options, really, and it got boring doing the same quests over (especially as those quests in the Lone Lands are pretty boring)

I burnt out doing this in about 6 weeks :P  Running four toons up to 35-40 is hellishly boring because despite the different starter areas which I did all of, the rest of the areas progress in a rather linear fashion.

As long as you are having fun I guess it isn't a problem, I just have the attention span of a gnat.

The way i had not to get bored when levelling my second too was simple, do it fast and focus on instances. Since i didnt know many ppl when i was lvling my first char i did mostly questing and sometimes book quest. On the second char i had perf crafted gear and mostly did dungeons and book quests.

I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long.

I am getting close to having 4 50's, with a Hunter, Minstrel, and Burglar all level 50, and a 46 Gaurdian. I enjoy the way that each class holds their own. The Mins has the hardest time, but it is still a blast. I am planning on a Lore Master for my 5th.

You don''t stop playing cos you get old; you get old cos you stop playing.

If you get 4 characters to lvl 35-40 in 6 weeks(!) then I'm not surprised it got tedious and you got bored.

I like to experience as much content as possible so I have:

Human-Loremaster, Dwarf-Guardian, Elf-Hunter, Hobbit-Minstrel. All are at Lvl 32. I get to see all starting areas, get to play a good variety of class types and have all crafting skills covered.

Yes, it means running the same quests 4 times. But I rarely get bored. Why? Because I have done this over a period of one and a half years! LOTRO has been put together by hard-working developers who love the world they create. It is not the type of game to play hardcore style. By power-levelling you just miss too much content - simple as. (Having a lifetime subscription does help btw.)

The game is like a lavishly and lovingly prepared meal that should be slowly enjoyed and savoured with a glass of expensive red wine. It's not a fast-food burger meal to be scoffed quickly and washed down with a coke from a paper cup!

And the results are in:
1st Lord of the Rings Online.
2nd World of Warcraft.
