Yep, IM glad they have made an aggressive assault against bots and online currency sellers.

I've been bombarded by the same character for the better part of a week with gold selling spam.  Even with him on ignore the messages still get through somehow.

Yes its awesome to see it, Gold sellers ruin the experience of the game.

Banning in the first week when thousands of "extra'" keys were given away was always going to lead to this. Naturally it was going to get much harder for them when real subs finally went in. They just capitalised on that time to make themselves look good :)

I don't know about giving out keys or any weird conspiracy stuff like that, but there are plenty of other things they could be doing right now to take care of the problem. Instead, they'd rather make a public display of it and brag about how many bots they've banned.

It's like a coder bragging about how many bugs he's fixed. It doesn't really mean much if you're not making an attempt to fix the source of the problem to begin with.

Same thing happened to me on Brit server. This toon was on their for a week and I had them on ignore as well and still got through. Nightly I reported this person and they were still there. They may ban people but they sure are slow as hell in doing it.

I hope this patch makes it easier to report AND ignore. The patch notes say they did, we shall see. Then again I reported same person all week long and nothing was done. Maybe this time ignore will work.

Mythic has a total different Philosophy than Blizzard.

Mythic takes a hard-line on Botters spammers, Trolls and those that have this atavistic need to get attention by typing the most unimaginable Vulgarity.

Blizzard just wants their money and to hell with what goes on in their games or their forums.

Mythic is a class act, The actually care about those that play their game, and will not ever let one of their products get Hijacked by Joe Gold Seller, or Johnny B.net Kiddie

Blizzard is the equivelant  of the White Supremace Meth-heads that live in your local Trailer park.

You expect anything else?     Mythic could give away free money and there will be those would rag on them for it. 

The game had a good launch.  The game is getting decent numbers.  The servers are staying up.    Patches and updates are coming out.   It's getting harder and harder to find things to accuse WAR of failing but they'll still find some way to do it. 

No the game is not a WoW-killer.  It was never meant to be a WoW-killer.   Not everyone may like it, but I'm finding that it's playable and it's fun (and I'm not alone).   That's all I expect in a game.

Oh come on.  Blizzard has actually taken gold spammers to court and won.  They have taken hack/cheat programmer writers to court and won.  Blizzard AND Mythic have been doing a good job standing up to the gold sellers despite the sharp contrast you are trying to paint between the two companies.   This isn't some contest of who has to be right or wrong and believe it or not BOTH companies are working against a very difficult problem and BOTH share the same philosophy.

As for the bnet kiddies you are trying to cast a negative shadow on, your post sure comes of sounding exactly like what you are complaining about.  White supremace meth heads?

There are always two sides to a transaction, so it is not only the Gold sellers that ruin the game but also the players that actually buy gold.

So long as there is a demand for gold the sellers will always try and sell it.

In fact the players that buy gold are worse than the sellers imho, as they are cheats................ and they are cheating me, more so in a pvp oriented game!

My thing with gold sellers is this. I could care less if they sell gold. Just dont PM me, if i want your product ill find you. www.google.com search WAR GOLD SELLERS will help me find you when I need you. This aggressive buy gold at buy gold at every 10 minute on rotation text is annoying.

Pheaces is a WoW fanboi through and through.  He tries to deny it, but the fact that he goes OUT OF HIS WAY to trash WAR even though it's clearly unwarranted is proof enough.

use the spam me not addon, works wonders, and i almost never get a gold spammer tell anymore :) and it automatically reports the spammer to a csr
