I see so much WOW hate. I've played some great MMO's, but none come close to the overall package of WOW.

I loved Neocrons dark atmospheric world that reminded me of Blade Runner.

I loved the vast open sandbox of SWG, and the player housing.

I'm currently loving LOTRO.

However no game has ever had the same effect of my that WOW did when i first started playing. I've never spent so much time in a game. It's to put simply a class act. The world always draws me back, and it's the best most detailed game world ever created in a MMO.

Most people who dislikes the game, only dislike it because it's cool to dislike WOW, much like President Bush. This video sums up perfectly what a great game WOW was and still is:

It was never "cool" to dislike WoW. People who stay away from it because its not there game. I know plenty of "too cool for school" type niche kids who played WoW and then went and played in there rock band. EVERY class of human in some part plays WoW. But not EVERYONE in the world plays it because we would rather play something better in terms of "actually better" and not just the hype wave that exloded onto WoW and grew. The times are changing, there are many better MMO's in the genre that overall beatout WoW in almost all aspects, they just dont ride the same Hype train. Lets face it, "arguining that WoW is the best" Is exactly the reason that people argue that WoW sucks. If WoW players just STFU and realized not EVERYBODY has to love WoW like they do, then there wouldnt be a problem. But there are always spoiled idiots who half have everyone agree with them or else. I myself am a former WoW player of about 3 years. And I agree with OP=Retard

I'd be happier if people just accepted that everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I play wow. I enjoy wow. I do think it is simpler then some games in the genre, but those games are usually vastly different in play style. Do I think some of the popularity is do to hype? yeah of course the game is massive, but to say it's all hype is ignorant. To underestimate blizzard is foolish. They know what they are doing and they do it well.  I have been playing since release and plan on playing throughout the upcoming xpac. I have played many other mmo's and always end up coming back. I really wish these "OH EM GEE THIS IS THE BESTEST/WORST MMO EVER" debates would end. Grow up and get the fuck off your high horse. To each his/her own. So STFU and go play your own favorite game.

Well some of the dungeons are pretty damn challengings, but wayyy to item/gear dependent. I half to admit WoW's dungeons are deffinently rewarding. But as a downfall. Only niche guilds with the best get to it first and everyone else gets to it after the newer and even better Tier sets come around and outdate the one you finally got too. Its a never ending cycle of hell.

Anybody and their grandma can play any MMO....they are all just as simple as WoW. Even all the MMOs before it. maybe not Ultima and EQ as much but thats only because they were first so the whole concept was new to people, but even your grandma could figure those games out after a bit of playtime.

Try EQ2's Nizara at level 70 and see how fast you cry. as far as best dungeons.

I started playing WoW a month after it was released. I stopped playing it 6 months later. I can say 2 things for a fact:

1) I quit because I had been bored out of my skull for some time and finally decided to quit paying for a game I wasn't playing.

and

2) If I had found WoW fun, I'd still be playing it. I have tried going back a few times, but it is still just as boring as it was the first time.
 

I WANT to like WoW. It is a well-built game. It's just not the kind of world and gameplay that holds my attention.

yes 11/15 million play wow so they must back you up then again 80% of the world lives on less than 10$/day (thats 4.8/6 billion people that are hungry in the world) source: world bank development indicator 2008. is it better to be hungry? majority ONLY means ACCESSIBLE to more people. Target market is bigger.

a shoe manufacturer makes shoes. EVERYONE walks! every one needs shoes therefore more market possibilities

a glasses manufacturere will only make glasses for people who need glasses, market is reduced, thus less possibilities.

the fact that WoW has more market possibilities means that it will get more people.

EvE online is a more difficult to learn, comprehend and time consuming... that narrows down the target merket to only a select few thus less people will play.

and to the person who said grandmothers can learn to play any MMO? let her try eve online, or UO, or for that matter figure out the crafting system of SWG(pre-cu) (or darkfall if and when it comes out)

so i would sugest you take some classes in business or marketting before you post ridiculous comments like the ones you just did

Actually, when atheists tell me that I am dumb for believing, it seriously does not bother me. It wouldn't be much of a belief if someone else disagreeing could sway me. So what's the deal with WoW players? They can't take disagreement?

Here's another analogy for you:

Most people like chocolate. I like chocolate too. My husband can't stand it, and says so every time I get some. It has no bearing on my enjoyment. 11 million people play WoW. I'd rather do housework than play WoW.... So this hurts your feelings if I say so? If you are having fun in WoW, what difference does it make if someone else didn't enjoy it?
