I agree with some of what you are saying...

Funcom has a serious credibility problem right now, They promise you the moon and you get green cheese instead. I have waited for 4 months hoping to get a fun, unique game out of the deal, and that hasn't done me any good.

But The new GD has great potential, He has already gotten AoC pointed in the right direction, we just have to see if they can move forward faster than a snails pace. I would have to say that in order for the game to survive with a major portion of the current population intact, they need to fix things before the end of the year. Sure they will always have the cling-on fanboys, but we can see the result of that in SWG, without a good revenue source, you get dev maintenance mode, which is nothing but a downward spiral for the game. But give FC a little slack, they sacked the goat, and now we just have to wait and see if Sil can do what he says he can do.

Also be prepared for the Anti-negative AoC QQ patrol, they will be here in a few moments to tell you how the game is great, that population is at an all time high, and Funcom serves them Steak and wine every time they log in (which I am sure the do, for all the paid employees).

Good luck with Flaming Avery and the crew (I don't really mean that, it just sounded neat).

I agree. This game is going to take the better part of a year to get right.  Furthermore, they really need to rethink the whole instanced world thing. They also need to at very least interconnect the world a little more rather than offering WARP NPCS.  They also need to remove the invisible walls inside each territory, these really ruin the game.

Other than that, seems you take to many things personally about the launch of the game, if 50$ was too much of a gamble for you to take, i suggest you wait 6 months before buying any MMO.

Im quite aware of it and still have a subscription until december, at least I paid for one anyway. Yet I havent logged one but a sparse few times.  I just log in and see noone and go ' what the hell am I doing>??? I could be playing ryzom!!' and I go off and play that free of charge.  OF course I know that Ryzom is not for everyone, esp not the current AoC fanboi crowd.  Its detailed and has dynamic crafting and a sandbox world and thats not for everyone.

Also, about the 50$ thing.  I spent 89.99 x2 +tax and shipping and it was over 200 for two CE editions. They charged me 22$ per box to ship it... then there were the 2 PC's I built for this game at about 1247 and 1249 respectively ( she wanted a shiny case it cost 2$ US more than mine.)
 

It was the reason for my upgrade and while I am enjoying the PC's, esp in Ryzom that thing runs just wonderfully in high-res maxed, I am more than a little angry that conan ran so badly on those PC's.

50$ is chump change. This is a question of principle. I have no problems with the game being a failure. I have a problem with FC repeatedly LYING to their customers and I find it very strange that some people don't have a problem with that. It seems like many MMO players just bend over and take anything the developers give them.

And that's not meant to be sarcastic in any way, so please don't read it that way.  I'm just curious as to why people who leave MMOs try to sway others in this way.  Do you have a personal, vested interest in one of this game's competitors (e.g. do you own stock in EA or Blizzard or XXXX)?  If not, then why do you care if people sample other games in the genre?

So you have an issue with the principle of the matter?  Well, what about the rest of us who don't?  Honestly do I care that the box said DX10 and then was shipped without it?  Not really.  Sure I want DX10 but I can wait.  Do I find the game fun?  Yes.  Maybe I'm just not as "principled" as you, but at the end of the day all that I care about is whether or not a game is fun, not whether or not every single feature originally promissed wound up in the game on day one.  If those features are added, great!  If not, those of us who enjoy the game in the state that it's already in don't really care.

Well buddy you just got be convinced that I should cancel WAR sub. I fired up WAR 2 weeks back like everybody else, and guess what? I was one of all those guys the game crashed and lagged like crazy for. Is it a scam? Well first I though no its MMO, but you are actually saying that we should not put up with this. After Mark Jacobs speach about AoC and it's launch I was certain that their game would be good from the start, but hell no it is possibly worse for me. AoC runs bigtime more stable and at higher FPS than WAR for me now. I might as well cancel WAR applying your logic. Actually it piss me off the more I think about it. How the hell did they manage to screw up the code to this point for a game running last decades technology?

  There is no evidence ingame, or by xfire that more people are playing.    There were 3 days when the pvp patch went live that players logged in more than the previous week, but even that 'bump' wasn't enough to get them back to where they were 2 weeks prior to the patch.  Since those 3 days, every single day has seen a 10% decrease (week over week).

There probably are  more than a few people coming back to AOC though because Warhammer isn't very good, but the number of people coming back to AOC is dwarfed (by 10%) by the number of people leaving.

What makes you the judge of what people should or should not play. Let everyone make there own minds up, im really fed up of seeing ridiculous threads like this but I just can't refrain myself from replying, if just 1 person see's that your view isnt the only view, im happy.

The best way to see and find out about a game is to play it yourself. Its very rare to find unbiased opinions from forums.

Just look where they put their prio's, making expressions on chars .... OMG thats going to make me re-sub ..... just a big lol! The game looks amazing i can agree on that, but thats it! I can look on nvidia promo vids or play single player games if i want awsome leet gfx =)
