The game is a horrible grindfest,after Level 10 its already stupid and dull, the quests are just alot running from place A to B then to C and and and.

I couldnt get one class above Level 13 in 2 weeks, mainly because not one single class fit to me or was fun. The Grafic animations is one of the worst available today, but i got over that and kept playing.

The PvP is stupid at low levels, either you are lucky and get a  server with a winning site or like me you loose 95 out of 100 battles because you took the wrong site on your server, that sadly happened to all my characters on 3 serves. I am always on the looser site. (it cant be just me)

Poeple are mostly retards, to stupid to heal and to stupid to teamplay. I played a Zealot for a few hours and outhealed all other healers from Level 1 already, the people are simply to stupid to understand their classes and every healer tries to Solo DPS. How hard is it to understand that your Tank needs a healer backup ?

But my Main concern is PvE, its simply to slow and boring to level also i wanted some huge RvR, big battles with many many players, i wanted to play a Ranger to shoot from Walls, i wanted to play a Tank class to crush into battle,  i wanted to be a firemage to burn enemies down,but i dont want to play 3-5 month just to reach Level 40 to participate.

I played every single class to at least level 11, i know thats not high but i couldnt find a class to stick with until i played them all and still found no class i liked.

The pet classes are broken, the Pets dont /follow , they just keep attacking never mind if in passive mode or not otherwise my Squig herder would have been a nice class, but with pets that dont work its no fun, also the 30 sec timer on the pet recast is far to long in PvP.

a nice game, a nice try, but it looks like 2004 and it feels like hard work and not fun at all after a few days.

Give me a L30 starter class to play PvP and i might come back, but i am not playing month to reach 40 and another few month for the next class that interests me. I think the times of DAOC are gone thats why there are only 1500 players left, nobody wants to level 1 year to max anymore.

I would say a little impatient, but i can understand how you feel.

Try to remember this...no one actualy knows how to play the game well yet in pvp, you take scenarios again and again and people will start to find the best way to play over a long period of time, and you dont even need to quest! just sit in a scenario a few times a day will get you leveled without much effort eventually.

From what i can tell the combat is so against 1v1 situations and yet all everyone does is rush into their deaths over and over again, when people stop playing there chars like they are in WSG or Arathi Basin and are forced to realise if they do not work as a team there is no hope...pvp will improve alot, but this wont be seen until endgame just becuase it will take a while to learn. But i guess you wont be sticking around to find out :(

Funny dat. First people complain about WAR being easymode, too casual and too rewarding in regard to invested effort and time. And now we get to hear the opposite. Of course this is coming from different people, but I for one am very happy that leveling slows down past your mid teens and I very much enjoy the ride and try to get the most out of every aspect of the game; ToK discoveries, RvR, scenario's, PQ's and normal questing and next to those, the RP is starting to get off the ground on my server and in my guild which adds a whole different aspect to the mmo you play.

Being outnumbered on a server doesn't necesarily mean guaranteed losses. I have seen quite the opposite on many occasions, where the underdog had learned to stick together and win a lot of scenario's for instance.

Success in WAR all comes down to organizing and how well people mange to work together. Goes for PQ's, scenario's and keep sieges. Playing on an RP server means I might have an easier time in that regard because of a more adult attitude of people I suppose. I wouldn't want to play anywhere else.

Yes i hit level 17 last night and about to hit 15 renown and i have to admit that's WARs most redeeming factor, levelling has slown right down. it's great, finally devs listening to old timers like me and realising that we want a game not a quick run to max level. i find myself actually joining groups and friends again in an mmo...lol it's like something new, grouping in an mmo? unheard of, and thats not being sarcastic either. it's the first game in a long time that i feel compelled to group in.

Most modern mmo's mean if you group you will level way to fast and the game will be over faster than sonic the hedgehog! finally a game where i have to put time into to max...GREAT! keep it up folks.

Oh ye and for anyone looking for a Ranger class, Shadow hunters after 15 are Rangers :)

WAR is everywhere but certainly not for everyone. More and more the game seems more geared for the casual players and niche rvr crowd. The hardcores will get bored really fast unfortunately. A nice game but definitely not appealing to the large masses and many thought.

dated graphics, appalling animations (have you seen a High Elf running?); Scenarios are fun to play the first.. let's say 20 times? after that it's mindless grinding.

And unfortunately scenarios are the only way to level, because PVE quests are laughable, and RvR well, the OP said it all about it, it's a non existing options depending on server/side

hmm, i would have thought that appealing to casual players WAS appealing to the large masses of todays gamers.

Ye i wont appeal to the hardcore gamers though because theres not enough numbers to level and not fast enough for them. Hardcore gamers dont seem to be the ones that can make thier own stories or fun it seems, so why exactly are they hardcore again? is nerdy and hardcore the same thing?

you know what! people are going to quit becase they dont like the game evry day. others are going to join every day. as long as it doesn't effect the subs then really i agree with him "who cares" end of the day the games doing well and that's all that matters to current players.

somehow i think the expansion of wow will affect war a lot...

but even if it's got 300k subs it's a success... people seem to compare the numbers to wow to deem it a failutre... it's not...

i'd be happy with 1 server with 10k people in darkfall :)

Well no the game isn't perfect.  At the very least it's a pleasant distraction till something better comes along.

T1 was fun.  T2 which I am currently in not so much.  For example, I dislike the T2 scenario.  And Order seems to always lose.  Losing all the time is not fun, far from it.  What it actually does is discourage you from playing.

They need to put some bad assedness into Order so people will want to play that faction.  Otherwise many people will get discouraged.  This may not be a concern for people who rolled Destruction and are having a blast steam rolling Order.  But it will be a concern when people who play order either quit or decide to reroll destruction and there is little to no one left to play with.

Yeah, someone didn't think through faction balance enough.

Sure it can.

Server selection is indeed important and as the game is still new, I would guess things will be in a state of flux for a while so that may be a little trial and error. However, it sounds like you're not going in to RvR with a guild and I think that's a mistake. The game is written for guilds and that's pretty much it. If you're a solo'er diehard and don't want to consider finding a regular group, then I think I know why you consider everyone retards.  I've played in good pickup scenarios and bad ones. When playing with people I "know" (even casually from just repeated pickup scenarios), I have a lot better "luck" with getting healed, etc.

T1 PvP doesn't really need too much strategy to run through. Heck, I was regularly top (or near to) with an Ironbreaker for T1. T2 is where tanks actually become tanks and the classes are forced to learn to play. However, if you can't find a class that works for you then there really isn't any reason to continue on. It sounds like you've been concentrating on Destro - maybe you should have given Order a try?

Anyways, it sounds like you're gone now and perhaps moving on to a MMO that better suits you -- which is great!  I wish you the best of luck.  If you had your WAR characters on Averheim, can I have your stuff?

Your order side must  just be bad for that server...because there are order sides on hochland, averheim, and wolfenburg that do really well at T2

They said they need 250k subbers to break even which i'll think they make with room to spare, though the people who think it'll get even close to wows need there head examining it's not going to get even close to that and no game will for a long time.

         This goes with the theory that you need good PVE even in a PVP game......Players do get bored killing each other after awhile.....I think that WAR thought they could take the WOW BGs concept and make a full game of it, but in reality what makes it work for WOW is that you can do so many other things and you can PVE for a very long time until boredom sets in..... This is why people had questions about WAR when they said it was going to be RVR like DAOC was.......DAOC had great PVP but how long did it last?? For a really great game you would need DAOCs PVP combined with EQ/WOWs PVE.......DAOC/WARs type of PVP just isnt going to keep most people interested long term.......

I pretty much ignore the graphics complaints.  It plays decently enough on my system and I'm having fun.  That's all the really matters to me.  That being said, I played a Witch Elf yesterday for a few hours and found that if I focused on her running, it actually hurt my eyes due to the "bouncing".

This thread proves one thing.  No game can appeal to every gamer.  The OP complains its too slow in leveling, while I think you'd find a larger crowd that thinks is a bit too easy.

But the most important players are those who think the game is 'just right' for them and they enjoy playing it.  As long as they have fun and are willing to pay for it, the game is a success and will continue on to great things.

I'm not sure yet if WAR's for me, but I'm not going to bag on it because my personal tastes lean towards a different style of game.

Oh yeah, while I'm sure no one cares, I'm still playing.

i have a new rig and the game performance isnt the problem, its the sucky Engine, the poor Textures, the horrible Animations just look at the High elf Ranger, they move like their feet are Spagetti.

The poor Mob Pathing, warping NPCs. endless bugs, skills that do not work.

Strange that nobody talks about all the problems here, only the great stuff is listed here on this site.

Graphics are not dated, they are comparable to what is out there today. Not top of the line to be sure but I don't really believe they can be if you are going to have huge battles. I posted these in another thread:

Also the PvE is the same in every game so nothing new here which means you either like it, tolerate it or hate it. If you discount them then sure, scenarios are the only way to level. I personally mix it up though I do find that once I've been in a scenario I want to keep entering them. But if players want a more hardcore pvp experience or want a more LOTRO pve experience (but again, they are all really the same when it comes to pvp except for the Public Quests) then Warhammer won't really be for them.

Also, since you can enter all the scenarios in a pairing you can do 10 10 and 10 times each. That should be good. or rotate however you like.

My only concern is there doesn't seem to be enough rvr but I'm only in Tier 2 so that might not be a good evaluation as most of my rvr was in tier 1.
