AoC just plain failed to deliver. WAR at least has stuff to do.

Last post 'ere, just very bored.

There are many aspects of the game that keep it interesting, fun, and kinda addictive. I've played WOW, LOTRO, and AoC, but this was the best (by far). The gameplay is very fun and the fact that it always has RvR mini battles to join. I'm sure there are larger scale battles with seiges and stuff, but I haven't gotten there yet. Also the graphics may not be better than AoC, but are definitly more enjoyable and detailed than wow. Plus, the artistic aspects of the environments, like the style of trees and such, is much better than the others. Then there is the great gameplay in addition to leveling up, there are many options for where you would like to choose from, including points from RvR, public quests, regular quests and fights.

I think they will further increase their number of active players.  Although it didn't really kill WoW, I hope WoW someday loses its spot at the top for number of players.  I believe this game is definitely better than AoC, Lotro, and wow.

Its nice to see high sales like this, but we all know with MMOs its a wait and see.  in a month WAR could be up to 1million, and then steady out back down at 300k 2 more months later, we just don't know yet.

just hit 20 and am moving to tier 3 now, would be higher but my new job is shift work and i've been way too busy.  we'll see how I do on my weekend.

i know what you mean... i don't really even notice the bonuses from the rvr zones affecting my play.

it'd be nice to know when/where to to go which servers.  i've got toons leveling on 8 different servers (including an oceanic one), just to try to have somewhere to play where i can find people with which to do scenarios.  i've pretty much given up on people for rvr objectives... maybe t4 will be more rvr-happy?

i dont understand you people complaining about Populations......play on a different server then.......i play on Red Eye Mountain....always people on scenarios always going and open RvR always a siege or two..worst wait time i had this week was 8 minutes.....

if you play on a low pop server...you are going to have a smaller population.....not rocket science..or a religion...it is easy to figure out

That number should go down from what I've been reading on the forums.

 I'm waiting a bit myself, i tried Beta and hated the slow paced combat like so many others.

If i see a patchnote about making combat fast paced and not click a button every 4 sec and watch i'll prolly subscribe.

Otherwise i loved the game, all mechanics and graphics are topnotch in my book. But combat is just so boring :/

Nice I am so happy they looked at everything we beta testers told them about.  One of the smoothest launches in history AND the game has be stable and nostly bug free from day one.

Good to see some competition, maybe now Blizzard will finally make a Diablo MMO or Starcraft MMO. Im sick of elves,humans,orcs,dwarfs,goblins,etc in ALL the MMO's coming out.

I dont really see what  draws people to WAR, I tried the Open Beta and found the Combat system terribly boreing and couldnt get over the Crappy grathics. I know grathics arent everything but crappy grathics AND crappy combat? give me somthing to work with at least.

Well Mythic just tells us that over 500.000 has registered, they don't say anything about what is going to happen next month. Noone knows that, so all prophets of doom have to wait and see, that goes for the fanbois too. At least it is better to start with 500.000 then 400.000 so gratz to them.

Sure the game may seem quite polished but after a couple o days spent there you have more bugs reported then dwarfs killed (almost) so I really hope for improvement as soon as possible.

Complaining about slow combat...that's a laugh.  Anybody who's participated in a keep siege knows better.  Sure combat is slow, prior to lvl 5.  The further you get, the more there is to do and react to.  There's nothing boring about trying to drop a rune priest while an ironbreaker and witch hunter are on your back and a bright wizard and shadow warrior are lining you up in their sights.

Forums hardly an indication of the real numbers. Only trolls and fanbois come to them and complain/praise their choice game. Most players don't use them, or even know they exist.

I think the numbers are lower because many were burned with the AOC fiasco... so many players are doing the 'wait and see'.   The game is fantastic, and I would suggest everyone try it to level 11 at least.  you will get a good feel for the class and will feel strong in RVR battles and Scenarios.  

 

 

i agree this is what most people are doing, me being another since i bought the CE version of AOC lol. its improved a bit but needs alot more TLC. with Warhammer, I did play during beta  and just couldnt get into it. but would be intereted in a trial account to see what is int he game at launch or beyond.

Good job Mythic! I plan to give this game a try shortly. Personally I'd love to see a Diablo MMO. But then again might have the religious fanatics screaming about promoting the occult. Can't do anything without pissing off someone these days.

i play on chaos wastes open rvr/rp. dwarven engineer, im spending sometime in the marshes of madness, our camp is getting destroyed by the greenskins. about 3 or 4 dwarf pc to 30 orc pc. but you can queue up for scenarios pretty quick. everyone roll on chaos wastes!!

I'll wait and see how the numbers are a month or 2 down the road.  Sure the hype over the game caused a surge in new players now, but wonder if WAR has the staying power.
