It's not going to happen. I doubt this game is actually ready for beta. All this talk of it already being in beta is rubbish. If people are wondering why MMORPG don't have it down as in beta, it's because they obviously think the same.

Rubbish huh? They started the beta immediately following hardware tests with those invited for the hardware testing. Don't believe me? LINK.

Next phase on the 10th.

Can't wait to play it, i must say they've done a very good job on keeping the beta quite. I havn't seen any leaked info.

 Right , ok its Nov 14th so are you worried?  If not whats your next guess? I really feel somethings got give soon. They can't open beta if they don't get it started before the planned close of beta at the end of the month, and the game is still scheduled to launch in Decemeber. Aventurine has never been good with keeping any of their tenative schedules, and time is ticking.

They need to just announce now that this game is NOT going to be out by the end of the year...Then everyone can stop going back and forth about it...My new hope is that we will all be playing this game sometime in the first quarter of next year...

That's hardly fair. I could say "all there is to watch on TV are soaps, reality shows and sports" and I would be right, but that's hardly the point. There's a much broader scope that can't be indicated with such a simple list. You'd almost need a branching tree diagram to list all the things to do in the game, assuming what we've been told is true.

You're still out killing monsters(with or without quests, who knows?)

You're still ganking the other realm whenever you see them, and then having the random guy from your faction kill you.

You're still just getting materials to craft armors and buildings.

That's all it really is.  The problem is, the DF fans have hyped it to be something much much more than that.  And it's really not going to be.

This is exactly the point. It´s always the same in all existing mmorpg´s. But this will change, when a real big fat global player realizes the true potiential of the mmorpg commercial sector. Then someone will invest not only some millions but hundrets of millions of dollars in a breathtaking game, where you can be and do all the things we had ever dreamed about. I anticipate that this will happen within the next 5 years.

Darkfall wont be such a game.

Btw, if the hype turns out to be a lie, I wont play not even try Darkfall anyway, because after all the lies of all the companies throughout the mmorpg szene I have decided not to play any game, which is made by companies who are lieing to those they want the money from, because I am realy realy tired of all this disrespect.

I hope everyone read the link. They just started hardware testing, lol. The haven't even began testing character development/progression, skills, combat system, quests, etc etc etc.. This game isnt even near ready for launch! Those that believe DF will be released in 2008 are surely dreaming. I seriously doubt this game will be released in late 2009 let alone early 09, lol. There's ALOT of testing that needs to be done. We haven't even started talking about siege combat, mounted combat, etc.

Once again, They're just testing hardware and server stability right now. there's at least another year of testing that will need to be done before this game is even close to being ready for release.

If what you are saying is true then every statement the developers have made regarding the state of this games development, beta testing and release over the last year or more have been lies, or at the very least extremely misleading.
 

typical hardware test was finished some time ago, they are playtasting since 10th nov and are adding more and more content .

if everything goes according to their plan we will be told open beta date next week or soon after. if not the whole "open beta wil end in early december" plan is no more and they've delay.

Come on open bata.
