You can keep LOLOLOL OMGING all you want after your X-fire incident, OnionMan. Basically anyone who reads these forums will know that your credibility is less than a zero. It's good that you can at least have some fun here though, looking at your post count, a man who spends that much time F5:ing a forum can't be having much fun in Age of Failure. |

Originally posted by AmazingAvery Im going to level with you. The game has improved in many different area's. However, there is still lack of things to do at level 80, apart from PvP Levels, Siege, Raid and finish crafting up. This should be allieviated in the next few months by additional content being added. The lasted PvP patch will get you working on PvP levels to try out new gear and that will last a while do to exp gaps (not an overnight job) and the second part of this update is coming most likely in the next few weeks ( Murder System ) which should put a diff spin on things and worth a look imo. If your not interested in these two area's and just a PvE'r and don't like the above, then wait for some more content, it won't be long.
Time will tell if the new GD has had any impact or not. As they say "the more things change, the more they stay the same". And please don't anyone quoting threads to prove communication. Constantly regurgitating "We'll release it when its ready" or "We are aware of the issues and are looking into them" is not exactly moving things forward in the communication stakes. Action speaks louder than words. On a more positive note, they DID sort a lot of the memory leaks on the last patch (which also brought PVP in). And there were a looong list of bug fixes. Shame they borked pet zoning, but hey, what can you do. Still, if you're a little jaded about AOC, check out Darkfalls video to REALLY emphasise that AOC is a lot better than others: http://videos.neoseeker.com/gameplay/742-darkfall-gameplay-video/ Its an absolute hoot to watch just how bad animation can be in a yet-to-be-released MMO. Yes, I know that great graphics don't necessarily make a great MMO. But come on! There should at least be SOME respectable standard that devs should be working too. |

I have gotten one of these speculations before and yet again you are wrong. By the way the post you link to is not about WAR, it is about Service pack 1 effects on Vista performance. Noone is reporting anything, but be damn sure I report when a Troll fill up the entire AoC general discussion in MMORPG with posts like... "Uhhhh, guess what... FUNCOM Sux...Death to all AoCplayers" . That's just right out disturbing.
I don't think anyone missed the importance of having your system up to date with the current service packs. What they are pointing out are what may be described as rather over the top statements such as: "FUNCOM I am now officially ready to take down anything you send my way. Bring it on... FUNCOM you rock!!! Last few things, FC are you working with the Microboys? It sure seems like. This 3 stage monster Service Pack I got my hands on really was made for AoC" Service pack improvements are driven from the software provider (in this case Microsoft); to address items such as making their OS perform smoother, more reliably, more securely, etc. However, you took that and somehow gave those kudos to Funcom. That's what I think Slythe and others generally mean when they say items like this certainly don't help convince poster'slike this OP on the merit of your arguments; as well as why you may have had a frosty reception on these forums in response to the tone and language of your posts. To the OP; there are positive updates with AoC of the late; (look at Avery's more recent posts for specifics); and also take a look at Avery and other's feedback on what still needs work and I think you have a personal timeline that may work for you as to when you'd like to return. I'd wager that the most compelling "Comeback Campaign" will not be in a formal campaign; but one that addresses the core issues people addressed in the exit survey, ongoing communication and making good on any commitments they've outlined for the current and prospective playerbase. It's a tough road to travel at this juncture, but they may be able to pull it off. Hopefully they do, and people have another MMO choice to spend their free time on. -Sin |

Any talk of a come back "free time" for canceled subscribers yet? Im getting ready to uninstall AoC to make room for something else and Id really like to know if something like this is coming soon. Id hate to uninstall then they announce it the next day and have to repatch all this stuff. |

well I just went out and dropped enough for dinner withe the wife, daughter and future son in law to almost pay for a years sub so I am patching up right now just for a look see. Curious to see what the pop really looks like and how much improvement there really is. Plus I have a hopped up 260GTX instead of my old 8800 and I am curious to see how far I can push the graphics. Even if I only play 15 minutes I figure it is worth a look to see how blatently the fanbois are pumping things up and I always have my LoTRO lifetime sub to fall back so I won't feel too bad even if I waste 15 bucks. |

Originally posted by Jackdog Hey Jack, Sounds like you and I are in the same age bracket. I have sons and two future daughters in law and am glad I dont have to pay for the weddings. I really wish everyone who is being so negative about AOC would spend the price of a large pizza, give the game another chance, and then render an informed verdict. On a previous post I said that I wouldn't go back if the game was free to play, but with a new Project Manager, server merges, and the upcoming patch notes, I think its worth a second look. Hell, seems like worth 15 bucks to just run through Tortage a few more times if nothing else. For those unwilling or unable to spend the money I hope that Funcom gets their act together and offers a free play time like SOE does with their games. It might not garner alot of new subscriptions but could change some perspective if all goes well and they actually do what they say. Sith

Well good for you guys. Im sure Funcom appreciates your 15$. I however think the 100$ i spent buying the game and the 3 months I paid for the mess that was AoC at release earns me at least a few free days to verify their current claims of improvements. If Funcom doesnt feel like it would be in their best interest to arrange something of a "come back" program thats their choice but Ill not throw good money after bad. |

Well Jackdog, you are a rather persistent neagtive poster on AoC so make sure we hear what your opinion is, would make a difference. You have to check out Ymirs Pass, great area, there is also tons of fun to check out on that new PvP system... Finally remember that there are 3 more dungeons coming out in like, I don't know, 2-3 weeks ?
