Imagine....LOTRO meets Soulcaliber...

Ready? Fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(i.e: That is the goofiest looking mob, and it is not even in WoW. What were they thinking? Middle Earth is now a joke to these guys or something...)

I was hoping for an update to player models... they look too cartoony when compared with the games environment. Is there anything PvP in the Moria expansion or is it more of the same gather this/kill that/find this?

Tried: WoW
Played: EQ, EQII, AO, SWG, NGE-SWG, LoTRO, WAR, Vanguard, Eve, WWIIOL, Guild Wars, Darkfall, AoC.
Playing: DAoC.
Waiting For: SW:TOR.

They had Jedi in Lord of The Rings? Awesome.

I hope the expansion is better than what those screenshots are showing.

Some of those mobs look like mutated aliens...isn't this game supposed to be set in Middle Earth? I don't recall an alien invasion taking place.

The elf in these pics imo is also kind of lacking. He doesn't use a weapon and no weapon animations? In the one pic where he's standing behind the dwarf, it looks like he is straining...looks more like constipation than combat.

I have to agree. Those don't screens cetainly don't look like any Moria I have read about.

In Turbine's defense, the books and movies leave a lot of room for interpretation as far as Moria is concerned...we only see about 1/1000 of the place.  Remember, there are far fouler things than orcs in the deep places of the world....

I gather the "alien" looking monsters can be mutated orcs and trolls, from working too close to the lava...

Oops - looks like I'm an internet dog who somehow learned how to type. What has the world come to?

IMHO:

First screenshot looks right in line with the feeling of LOTR. Tolkien had this thing going on with spiders throughout the books, so nothing out of place there.

The second one stretches things a bit. The lightning bolt being cast does seem like a jedi wannabe guy doing his thing at first glance, but if you look carefully, you'll see a bright white glowing rune near his hand that looks like an "F". My thought is if the casting animations and effects are done right, maybe it won't seem so out of place in-game as it does on a screenshot. As for the monster, it looks like it has been infected by some fungus or mold and didn't the books mention something about fungus in Moria?

EVE online - the MMO that takes PVP to a whole new level. Everything you own can and will be ganked, including your boot.ini. Now give me your stuff.
