Barebones might be next best choice for the non-tech savvy or those who don't have a techie in the family or friends. Upgradeability is another laptop issue. http://www.allaboutgod.com/ |

Actually thats not a 'game' breaking bug. Thats a login system bug that seems to be extremely limited in who it hits. I've played since closed beta and even used the patched over client and never once got this bug. |

The original poster is clearly trying to get a rise out of people. Thing is, the game is pretty damn good for having just released. You're not going to find too many people seeing massive flaws in it simply because they dont exist on any major level. I've had nothing but fun playing this game and the one texture bug i did have, righted itself out after zoning a few times to other places. I have the settings tweaked to be amazingly detailed and graphically pleasing and it doesnt stutter one damn bit. I even have a fairly old rig compared to most people these days. ------------------------------ 'Cry Havoc, and Let Loose the Dogs of WARRRRR!!!' |

Originally posted by Locklain I am pretty sure the server capacity is 5k per server. So do tell me, what MMOs out there hold 15,000 people per server? If I remember right EQ2 holds 8-9k per server and that was a lot of people. Could you provide any link to back the server capacity numbers? Because GOA president stated that the server cap was 500 per side although they were planning to increase it later on.Truth is that his comment is the only indication we have of the real server numbers. Anything else is just speculation. |

While perhaps no MMO out there has been ready for launch, I think WAR was very ready :) I think Mythic did a great job so far :) Sam "QforQ" Houston |

Ok, so we move beyond authentication errors, which have no pattern and have not been fixed, to pressing play and crashing: http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83787 |

They just kept quiet on the subject and released even more low capped cluster servers today to solve the log in queues, but they NEVER announced the raising of the server caps. 500/500 is way to few to populate all the RvR, PQ in 4 Tiers and Scenarios. Meaning BIG problems if the game will reach its turning point within 4 weeks (first subs cancelled). What will happen within 7 weeks is even more frightening. Half of the servers (whatever their number by then) could suddenly fall into Low/low status and that is pretty unplayable in both RvR and scenarios.

wtf is this serious? You guys are fucking crazy, in beta there was over 1500 people ALONE on destruction side on warpstone. . . . .did any of you fucking guys get into beta? Looks like the answer is NO, beta login displayed the Server pop in a drop down and in chat upon loging. . . . . . Sometimes i wish people would read before they say things are set in stone. There has never been a press release from mythic EVER hinting at a 500 man server cap, there is nothing in the world more retarded than that. . . . i would believe the SKY is purple b4 i believe a MMO . . . ANY MMO had a 500 realm cap. . . . This is from the president of GOA, running the EU version of the game:
Should the need arise for additional servers, we will add more servers from our stockpile.

Please put these things into context. Headstart servers were capped at 500 per side to allow non headstart to also join those servers. The caps were raised. Read that letter from GOA again. They started off with a 500 cap and are raising it every hour. What part of that do people not get? It's like you read 500 and jumped straight to conclussions. they are trying to manage the server loads by slowly raising the cap rather than opening it free for all and letting it crash with 100k people trying to hammer on one server. Whatever cap they had were all raised after launch. The cap was for headstart. |

We don't know how many times they raised it. So the only thing we can say with certainty is that cap is NOT lower than 500, everything is speculation. |

If you look at the game and compare it with good non-MMO titles, then yes it was released prematurely. If you compare it with other MMO titles, including World of WarCraft, it's possibly the most polished MMO release yet (and certainly in a much better shape than WoW at release). This topped with an extremely short development period compared to ther MMOs such as WoW or Age of Conan, it's a very impressive feat Mythic has accomplished. |
