Anyone else having problems seeing at night? I have my monitor settings all the way up and I still can not see at night. I have never had to do this with any other game and its almost unplayable at night. Are there vidio settings somewhere? |

Switching on your monitor might help. Nah, kidding, it is a little darkish now and then but I have yet to come across a situation like you describe. |

It's way too dark... lack of a gamma control is inexcusable. The only way I could play was to turn the lights off in the room.

For those too dense to figure it out and like to cry about it without just asking a simple question like "can you help me please" I will throw this answer in your stupid drooling faces. Next time just ask and you wont' get slapped with the help you're too proud to beg for.
Nvidia users, use Nvidia Control panel to increase the gamma of your desktop settings. Carries over into the game. Right click your desktop to open the panel.
Ati Users. Catalyst Control Center does the same thing. IF you're cool you won't have CCC installed and instead will be using Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tool. You can adjust the gamma through that tool as well.
If you can't figure those simple steps out because you have an American education or have eaten so much Top Ramen in your life that your brain has wormholes in it created by MSG poisoning, then please google Gammadjuster. This is freeware that allows you to adjust gamma settings on the fly through the use of hotkeys in game. Ctrl+alt+Numpad Plus raises, Ctrl+alt+Numpad Delete lowers.
Now go forth and play in the light. Mythic should put something like this in eventually. Until they do you can either cry about it more as they say, or suck it up and fix it yourself. Be a man, grow a couple of nuts and use your god given intelligence to figure it out. You are connected to the internet. This does not mean you have to cry like an milk fed mewling puppy on a forum every time something goes wrong as you can simply just google the god damnable answers before you ask them almost 100% of the time.
*edit: If you're Destruction then disregard the mean and angry parts. I assumed the people crying about this are playing Order so that is the tone I would like them to hear. |

i could be wrong but i dont think that works unless you play in windowed mode. i have the same problem as the OP and i did what you described, but have to play the game in window mode or the game will not use the desktop gamma settings. |

Don't listen to the ignorant words of the fool above me, he's obviously in need of a long vacation away from living, breathing, and courteois people. If u can't help someone out respectfully, without insulting them while your doing it, then keep your words to your self. |

Not at all too dark. IMO it's not dark enough. One of the things I loved about EQ1 was that night meant it was actually DARK. As a human, you could hear the orcs breathing before you could see them. Their red eyes would come charging out of the darkness and scare the crap out of you. Darkness and playing in first person gave a immersive feeling like no other MMO since. After years of playing WoW, where night is indicated by tinting things a bit blue, I'm happy to at least be able to see the glow of torches again. Now if they'll just darken it more so it's realistic and code it so that people can't cheat with gamma "sunshine", I'll be thrilled. Stop whining about darkness. It's already so bright it's totally unrealistic. MMOs Played: EQ 1&2, DAoC, SWG, Planetside, WoW, GW, CoX, DDO, EVE, Vanguard, TR |

Isn't the idea, that at night it is dark outside? so night fighting provides a little stealth.
if you defeat that with gamma correction to make it just like Day, why have a night cycle at all?
