Well I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as well I won a key (didn't actually receive it yet) but I was in the list showing confirmed.
But I think this is an issue with the actual site they should be clearer about how and when these keys will be given out. Sometime it will be instant but when there is a good chance there will be a long wait it would be nice if they would clearly say so. |

They did clarify it. They said that although you are guaranteed a beta slot if you win the contest it is solely the discretion of CME as to when the keys will be distributed and the winners will be brough into the beta itself. |

Last thing I read, it mentioned CB is supposed to start any day now, so it is possible we may be getting our invites as soon as the last few straglers confirm. If not, not more than a couple of weeks at most, I suspect. As for the above question of if this will be an MMOFPS- for all intents and purposes, I <think> this might be more along the lines of something like SWG- in that it has both FPS elements and melee combat. The melee combat, I picked up off of one of the class discriptions on wiki or somesuch. However, I think the focus will obviously be on the fps. Besides I would hate to be in a melee fight with someone who decides to break out a flamethrower (see the latest dev youtube video). Either way, all your worlds are belong to meh! ----------------------- Played- SWG (pre-cu), AoC, VG, WoW, LoTRO,CoX, EQ2, DAOC, GW, PotBS, Aion, MO,APB, NASA, Fallen Earth, DCUO, Rift Playing- EVE, Black Prophecy, TOR Waiting for- Tera, Jumpgate Evo, WH40K, WWE, WOD, TSW |

I think you are confusing some terms. The style (or existance) of combat and the camera view are totally unrelated and independant of each other. FPS means First Person Shooter. That is, you view the game world through the eyes of your character as if you were your character looking through your own eyes at the world. Neocron and Planetside are MMOFPS not because of the weapons or gameplay but simply because you view the world through the eyes of your character. Stargate Worlds, along with the vast majority of MMO games, are third person games. You view the world through the eyes of some imaginary third person who is netiher you nor your character and is not involved with the actions that are taking place. In most games this means your eyes are hovering above and behind your character, though this doesn't necessarily have to be the case. |

Apparently the TTH subscriber beta key giveaway people will be getting into the beta soon, so i'm expecting us who won keys from this contest will be entering the beta at the same time as them. |

I know what FPS means. I know that "technically" it will be more of a 3rdPS. However, many use the term "fps" these days when talking about a shooter of any viewing angle. That is what I meant by saying it was a "fps", in that it is largely a shooter ranged fighting game. Well, until you run out of ammo/ power crystals... ----------------------- Played- SWG (pre-cu), AoC, VG, WoW, LoTRO,CoX, EQ2, DAOC, GW, PotBS, Aion, MO,APB, NASA, Fallen Earth, DCUO, Rift Playing- EVE, Black Prophecy, TOR Waiting for- Tera, Jumpgate Evo, WH40K, WWE, WOD, TSW |

How many winning emails did they send out? I recieved one but because my router died, I was offline for about 2 days. I click on the link to claim my key but only get message saying all 500 keys have already been claimed. Real nice job there, mmorpg. You are off my Xmas list now..... |

I know. I also know that many people use "FPS" to describe shooting games these days. It's also incorrect and why I brought it up :) Normally I wouldn't nitpick so much but in this case a lot of people are unclear about exactly what kind of game Stargate Worlds is and I figured it was better to clear it up for any lurkers than to run into yet another first-person-or-not argument that I'm sure we're all tired of. |

Actually what i was pointing to was that some still stated "pending" so i was curious on how well they enforce the 24 hours or they give it to someone else rule! |

Well if you read the rules you should know that they fully specified that you get 24 hours to confirm. If you dont do that within that time period, you will be disqualified. So dont berate them. Its nobody's fault. Just unlucky mate. |

I know all the keys are claimed now, but when you still see "pending" after the first 24 hours, that's all of the redraws. |
