I read some interviews recently, we have these devs from Eve, Lotro, Warhammer saying they are happy to bring innovative features into MMOs and saying they are improving their playerbase. Then we have WoW interviews saying... they have 10.9 M players. To each his own pride I guess...

Whats date of joining or number of posts got to do with things? everyone started at some point..  don't take this as a flame as i hate flames, but... are you trying to say that only long time members of this website have the right and privilage of people listening/reading their posts? take a look at what others have said in this thread m8, more than one have stated they didn't even read all the OP so in my eyes they don't get a say no matter how long they've been a member of the site..  using intelligence and reading something before posting matters, not how long you've been a member.

Date of joining and number of post got alot to do with it. Hard to take someone serious when they start all hard and mighty with their number 1 post. The community need to know them a bit before taking then serious. Its the same on any forum you join. Get some 'streetcred' then come talk, so to speak. Another reason is that some people join, make a troll thread full of shit, then cancel their account.

Ontopic though, I kinda agree. WoW is trapped in their own success. They can't do crazy new stuff cause they got so many subscribers. If they change some of it a little drastically, they risk a shitload of people leaving the game. So they are forced to make more of the same. Face it, WotLK is TBC with some pvp thrown in for good measure. Only change mostly. 1 new class. Woop de doo. Don't mean squat. It will sell like the bloody bible though, and be a success financially. It's unavoidable. On another note, I too found those oversized weapons and armor look kinda ridicoulus when I still played. The higher the tier, the more idiotic it became Reminds me of jrpgs, with their girly men and oversized swords(compensating maybe??)

I had this bad experience of a guy hacking our guild chat and speaking through our nicks and throwing insults, so i complained to a GM and received an automated answer 3 hours later telling me general bullshit and not recognizing/knowing that this hack exists. I asked like 4 things in my WoW playtime, everytime i received some hours later automated answers full of bullshit or refering me to the forums. So you get those kids chatting for ages in SMS style about rape and porno stuff in Stormwind and no GM ever is here telling them to stop. Where the heck are all the bucks going, can't you hire real decent game masters? Special award for RP rules that were never enforced on dedicated servers (who could ever RP in this poor WoW universe anyway), with lots of retards spoiling in any way the basics of RP you would try to create.

What's troubling me too is their sudden decision of pve-pvp transfer like 4 days before Warhammer launch. That's pathetic. Aren't they supposed to feel confident about their so-called superior quality ? Then announcing their expansion far ahead of schedule, a thing they never did before, to stop people switching to competion, Warhammer isn't the only contender, btw, you have Lotro expansion, Aion, etc coming out too. Are they finally feeling the heat or just harassed by shareholders who need more bucks to buy villas on sunny beaches and don't accept the loss of 1 million players? The sad thing is not they have to lower their high butts to some low marketing decisions, which could be ultimately ok in a sense of competition, the sad thing is they aren't innovative in the least and are using their popularity and bulk mass of players to keep the media attention and strangling the innovative competition. Such behaviour is bad for MMORPGs.

So let's check their expansion trailer, basicaly an old frozen dude is awakening, and wielding his 10 meter sword (it's the way Blizzard think things are cool, if they are gigantic and overshiny...) and retarded cohorts of dead shouting at him. So exciting... perfect trailer to get an adequate box mark and keep selling to the masses. No Blizzard you won't have me returned to your old crap once again just to grind through 10 levels full of ugly landscapes and retarded fanboys (they must have inspire the army of dead you can see in the trailer, dead brain, happy to submit to the overdog, feeling strong in masses and following each other indiscrimately), i could enjoy WoW before your first expansion that already ruined the core game, but your greed, your lack of content (why even bother to treat well your customers, give them more things and new (free? j/k) content, if they're stuck with subscription and won't leave out of inertia and expecting miracles, nice way of thinking), your lies and pathetic justifications ("we never said we wouldn't do that, we said we would do what's best for our customers and adapt to new needs" zomg ;)), your stealing off ideas from other companies like Deeds and dynamic BG (since Wow "polishing" is synonym of stealing i guess).
