To be honest, I'm not sure what this will mean for Age of Conan. At this point, to be perfectly honest, they couldn't get any worse so I hope for their sake they simply go up (I do have some hope in AoC despite my posts, what I say is the truth but wish it wasn't about AoC). GG was a big problem for this game; hell, even people that have worked with him have said he was a big problem during development. I know nothing about this new guy because I have not played AO to a good extent in the past, but from what I hear he's a knight in shining armor for FC with AO. It would be quite interesting if history repeats itself exactly; AO has horrible launch, changed who's in charge, comes back up to a reasonable number. If this guy does good then maybe it can change things around. We'll have to see. But this is the first time in the past 3 months from the 4 months of launch that I've had hopes for this game, which is alot from me.

These actions are known to be what is termed in the political world as a one two punch.  What that means is that FUNCOM realized that to make true MMO news and to reinvigorate interest they had to cover more than one front at a time and that is why they had the resignation correspond with the PvP patch.  This brought peoples attention who knew of the PvP patch about Gautes resignation (thereby solidifying their subscriptions) while those who know about Gaute resigning from these forums or others are now informed about the success of the PvP patch (resulting in new subscriptions) and the synergy of the combination willr result in a) more players b) more time played c) retained subscriptions!

Oh I dont think it was done on purpose it is much like TEXAS HOLD EM where you play the hand you are dealt which often isnt good and you cant help it if you start on the table with PHIL IVEY AND MIKE MATUSOW but you respond in turn and hopefully win.  You could consider to continue the analogy that FUNCOM had to do a bit of bluffing with regards to the timing of GAUTEs release to make an impact on the competition and to make the MMO world take notice!

ILOVEFUNCOM? how much does Funcom pay you to come here and post you will be getting your first weeks check soon I see. Sad they took to long to hire a forum spokeperson for them here..

its funny but many ppl on the ao forums are very sad he has to go and are claiming he got degraded by being on aoc now :p shows that they dont like aoc a whole lot hehe..

That has to do with players knowing AoC would take from AO, but were told noone major or any development would befunneled from AO to AoC. And now the players were proven right all along. They know that MEANS cannot fill Craigs' shoes and AO is teetering now.

  Im sorry I didnt see that I dont mean to argue with a new player so im sorry for that but no one likes to be attacked right???  I guess I might seem like a fanboi but im not I just get very excited and happy when I talk about Age of Conan it is akin to an addiction to a restricted substance like something youd find in the Narcotic Drug Act but under DSMV draft.

I'm lovin' tha seks off WAR atm but if they fix AoC, I'll be subbin' up like a ho!

Seriously, AoC isn't bad, and it's well worth the 30 quid on the tin. I'd even say it's worth a tenner a month in fees but currently it's getting pwned by better, more polished games.

Too many people (kids) are ripping into this game like they thought they were getting the birthday present they'd always wanted coz the box was the right shape, but instead they got something else. Their disappointment is clouding their objectivity.

IMO, this game has more potential than WoW and all the other heavy hitters - including WAR, which as mentioned, I'm really enjoying. And because of that, if they fix it up I will definitely play the it. Ask yourself this, if a crap game gets turned into the best things ever, are you REALLY not going to play just because of all the bitching that went on about it before?

If I met a girl who was hotter than the surface of the sun but just so happened to be a ripping minger when we used to go to school together, I'm not gonna say "Oh sorry dear, you was a dog once so get outta my bed, put your clothes back on and fcuk off pls" am I?

Whether it can be fixed or not, I don't know. Who gives a toss anyway? If Funcom make it happen, then hoorah! If not, have a wank instead.

I didn't attack you, I attacked your style. There's a huge difference there. There's enough trolling here, there's enough flaming. Why throw gasoline on the fire?

FC has done a really poor job so far.  Changing the lead might start getting the company turned in the right direction.

My problem has been that the game just isn't very good as an MMORPG.  Character development, in any form, has been razor-thin, not leaving the players with anything substantive to do to improve their character, other than level.

It's that design philosophy that I find unappealing more than anything else.  I don't think they are going to change that.

granted it will be too hard to do the amazing job craig has done for AO. but its not like the game is done for.. Means has developed some sweet stuff in AO and im guessing he will follow the same path as craig did which is only a good thing, and Means said he wants more then anyone to get the graphics update done asap.. sounds promising we will see how it works out

Yes sorry about that I accidentally hit LAST instead of 10 and I didnt look at the date of the post so my most humble apologies for that error in visual processing sometimes you have to think that 2005 is the new 2008 in that Marty McFly type scenario.

I guess the real question is even if they fix all the things in the game,how do you repair the dammage that the misleading lies and shady business deals have caused? I mean it started with beta remember?its open beta but to get client you have to pay for it,Then it was offered free and it didnt stop there I remember you can aquire a item to port you if you buy pc gamer then it was offered in a patch,and not to mention the idiots that are GMs in the game.I doubt this game will be around in 6 months I think that its a little to late for repairs.
