Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started. |

The way they did the beta and early launch makes this insignificant. Companies are now using the lure of open beta to get people to pre-order so they can then hype their game using pre-order numbers. What would the number of pre-orders have been if it didnt' guarantee you a beta spot? If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |

Originally posted by Azrile It would have been fine, all people who wanted to play got free beta keys. Head start is a good reason tho, although you usually buy a CE for the exclusive gifts. |

Who cares? The point is that they sold this massive amount. And they will only continue to grow through word of mouth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c |

Very impressive considering WoW's North American market is only around 2 million ish. Maybe less. |

Exactly. The means to how they achieved this success makes no difference. Regardless, congrats to EA and Mythic. |

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional. |

Not if that mouth is mine. I will tell the truth about this game. No significant amount of people are going to leave WoW to join WAR. They will load it up and see its the same game practically. Then return to WOW as WOTLK releases. I will be the one on these forums telling everyone of you I told you so when about the majority of your player base leaves after the first month to go back to WoW. WOTLK will take back the WoW players who are bored right now with BC and are like well ill give this a go for a month till WOTLK comes out and i wouldnt doubt if they are in this forum PRAISING WAR on how it plays and or looks. But when WOTLK comes out thats when you guys will find out who is your loyal WAR fans. I dont play WoW btw so i wont be going to WOTLK so dont respond to this saying no just u will. |

Hilarious Twist of words huh? Quote: "Overall, the company has sold 1.5 million units of WAR to retailers. " RETAILERS, not consumers. Get your facts straight |

Not many PVE players will do that tbh, they will stick with WoW and keep farming the curent content, although quite many PvP players will stay, especially those who enjoy battlegrounds instead of arena. Can't say I won't miss arena in WoW, it's actually fun(inb4 Arena is good for epeen only) but paying 15 bucks for it won't do it. |

Hmm, I have read that they will start with 700k copies Myabe the reason about 1.5m copies is becasue preorders was doubled in the last month? |

Its great to see that Mythic has done well in sales, where its going to count is in player retention. I suppose its unnecessary to mention a recent game as a metaphor.

(no flames for that if I'm wrong, my memory isn't what it used to be) |

Originally posted by Satarious EA broke their own record with preorders purchased by CONSUMERS. That was the title of this thread, after all. I think THAT deserves mentioning, Wow fanboy.
[quote]FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2008--Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) studio, today announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer(R) Online: Age of Reckoning(TM) (WAR), will ship tomorrow to retail stores across North America, Europe, and Oceania in preparation for launch on September 18th.
