He talks about the difference between in-game and video graphics, and mentions that the in-game GFX look "considerably better" than the screenshot graphics. Personally, I hope they aren't that much better, as we don't want lag. But for the graphics whores on this forum, there you go.

And for the vaportrolls who are still hanging around, the kicker comes in the second part of the update.

Aventurine SA is co-hosting the Athens ESWC.(Electronic Sports World Cup)  There's going to be a Darkfall event there, as well as some WC3/ Quake tourneys.

Cool update, wish I could go to the event.   The trolls will stil find something to attack, whether it be the gameplay, community or who knows what.  They have definitely thinned out around here though.

Another quality update from Tasos!  With all the magnificent features of this game, I really can't wait for its release.  For a long time, I thought the concept that Darkfall is going to run was kind of a 'dream' concept for an MMO that no one would ever make, but ever since I've heard of this game, I've been sold on it.

A very pleasant surprise to see the update on Saturday.  They are obviously working hard and puting in those extra hours that all devs do when they are close to release.

Yes the screen are awsome and unfortunatly this explanation wont silence the trolls that just wont stay away, but no one really takes them seriously anyways.  Even if the graphics in the video were the best they can be (they arent) I would still think they are more than fine for what this game plans to offer.

Darkfall IS comming people, hopefully after this event we will see the end to all trolling and the depressed skeptics can join those of us with a little faith and common sense in enjoying this game!

Hopefully the next update has beta info in it, though I have a funny feeling we wont hear anything about beta until they have their first wave of testers picked and we'll see an announcement saying that they sent out invites and beta will start on xx/xx/2008.

Also if you are anywhere near Athens, do yourself a favor and try to go to this thing if it will mean you can see the game in action.

darkfall may not even be there tho i think its going to be quake and worldcraft 3. but they did say a darkfall event didnt they Oo

wonder if beta starts before or after the event umm

Since beta is supposed to start next month, thats the only news I want to hear about.

Hopefully they will demonstrate a playable version of Darkfall at the Athens Digital Week, but I wont be surprised if they just show the 17 min video and some screenshots instead.

You know what this tells me?  Since Aventurine was so busy with ESWC, it caused a delay in the launch of DFO.  Read it here first folks....

I don't understand why they'd get wrapped up in something that huge when October is suppose to be the huge beta launch month.  I don't understand how they feel they need to be distracted during beta launch month.

Agreed.  Remember, Tasos assured us that without a doubt, DFO will launch this year.  December 31 is rapidly approaching.
