I'll say up front that I have no idea if the game is any good.

I've a beta key for WAR, and I'd give it a go if I could. I can't log in to the game, neither can I query my password - I might have got it wrong, but there's no way to tell. I can't check or reset my password anywhere. In fact, there's no way to tell if I've even got an account.

I'd check on the official site, but they don't seem to have anything more than a marketing cover up there.

It looks to me like their management team have set things up to keep the players as far away from any kind of support as they can. I know that's not a fair way to judge a game - the devs might have done a great job, but I'm never going to know.

If you sub to a game, you're putting months, if not years, of cash into a gaming experience. This looks like one of those Vanguard-style if it works you're fine, if it doesn't, fuck you sort of schemes.

 Player support is important. This game doesn't appear to have any.

My suggestion : Stay the hell away from this for a year or two until the devs have ironed out the major problems, and see if it's still around. I'm not convinced it will be.

As much as im a lotro fanboy, I will never be as ridiculuos as above. The game wroks, it has some good things and snd some annoying things, but as far as the OP is concerned he is full of poop, and this thread should be locked.

I wish there was something i could do to ease your pain. :(

I agree totally. WARcrasher as i have dubbed this debacle, doesnt even run stable on my new machine. I experienced 10 crash to desktops and one requiring a FULL REBOOT. This crap is sad from Mythic.

Also the numerous animation glitches and constant PvP lag make the game unplayable. Stay clear people, maybe try AoC if your looking for a fun game.

those who are in beta are smart enough to read the instruction and having a great time now...

So you are blaming Mythic for YOUR COMPUTER's failure?

I appreciate the suggestion, and I've mailed that address.

The fact that they've managed to bungle a simple registration form and provide bugger-all support for it still makes me reluctant to give them money for the game.

I know it's a beta, and beta's aren't supposed to be perfect. But there's not perfect (to be expected) and not ready for release. This appears, to me,  to be not ready for release. If their delivery management is that bad, I'd worry about where my money would be going.

Defintely not Mythics fault, just be more careful. Mythic is VERY good at responding to issues.

Im sorry ?  Ive only crashed when i go to the main Citys and that was the first day, befor few patchs that was put in..

if i had to guess, sounds like its on your end?  I could be wrong ? Sounds like You made your mind up from day one, you hated this game ?

I haven't posted here often, that's true. I'm not sure what your definition of "noob" is, but I'd be surprised if I fit it. I've been gaming since the heady days of having to type them in from a magazine on a ZX80 (not a typo - bet my zx80 had more ram than yours).

I said up front that I haven't been able to try the game. My problem with the game is that the player support is sadly lacking. I set up an account as per the instructions, and their login system appears to be broken. That in itself isn't a fatal flaw - it's a beta, and finding broken things is what beta's are all about.

What worries me is that there appears to be no obvious method of feedback about problems. Their development cycle and methodology might be great, but that doesn't really matter if the business isn't focussed on quality rather than sales.

It's interesting how 90% of the people play a game with no issues, yet the game is crap because the minority can't get it to work due to less than minimum required hardware, user error or in WAR's case, GOA.  I'm not responding to anyone in particular, just the situation.  To the OP, some of the issue with login, etc might have to do with GOA, not the game.

Maybe you should read his join date before throwing out accusations.

Ran fine on my machine, a few hitches occasionally but I figured it's just not fully optimised or there's something running along with the game itself. Some sort of bug catcher or anti-hack. Especially considering how long it would take the game to shut down when I exited out.

However, the game was not for me. Despite the massive respawn rates that everyone thinks makes the game better, or the cannon blasts going off everywhere, the really cool battlegrounds,,,OOOPS, I mean RvR semi-instances, tolkienesque elves and stunties.

Well, it reminded me to much of WoW in to many different ways, just with duller different graphics. AND YES, I  KNOW the graphics have been turned down for the beta.

i have to agree that i hate how the beta set up was to get in the game..

This is beta and when the game comes out, we have CDs to load the game and only one Pass word to put in,  not a mix of 2 types that you had to make up.

I had to get help with mine, i type in another letter and doing so was not able to get in, i called them and he help me get mine up and going !

If we all just wait till this game comes out and hold back some of these feeling of despair, we see these people are really working hard to deliver a working game!

i know its hard to Trust people after a Few bad eggs, ive been in a few betas and i can tell you, this game run far better on my comp, then it did when i played Lotro.  Only reason im not there is because in hunger for PVP.  :)

You know what? Crap happens. Any new game is going to run into problems and issues with keys and accounts. I cannot tell you how many times I have had issues with many different games.

Your reaction is that of a 10 year old child whining about not getting his way. Why not send Mythic an e-mail or contact them through the website? No you rather post here and whine about it.

And because they have issues with your key, it does not make it a bad game. It is in fact a fantastic game and if you don't want to play, that is fine. Sorry the game isn't perfect enough for you.

Like I said, I wasn't responding to your post, or even WAR, in specific; but the general mentality when it comes to people complaining about the game not working.  As for account management, aren't you using war-europe?
