I really like AoC, I really do. But, Protus. This is such a joke.

I went and tried WAR and found it lacking any fun on my part. But, AoC is nowhere near the greatness you wish it to be.

I reupped my sub, as I do find it enjoyable, and just was not finding any other fix (besides Guild Wars which matches AoC's mechanics).

But, the servers are not full, and quite empty at times. There are still weird glitches and the constant patch delay really irks me. I blame Funcom 100% for ruining a fun game....

But, I just feel the old ways of MMO's with their stand around and hit 1 to fight mechanics just leave a lot to be desired.

But, Protus, you need to stop running your mouth. You look like a joke.

I'm glad I got to try the WaR open beta, the game is horrible, it's a complete piece of WoW cloning garbage.  It's WoW with slower combat. 

I didn't realize how good AoC was until I tried WaR, I've resubbed and am very happy with AoC, I hope once WaR goes live all the people that jumped from AoC will realize how shitty WaR is and come back.

Still subscribed to AoC and loving it, the client runs smoother than at start,even on average PC's...They are slowly sorting Sieges(which they are doable atm, concernign fps), and most of the PvE raid content(tweaking bosses and debugging them-t1 raids are fully functional, t2 partly-needs some work in wing 2 and wing3).

 PvP patch ,coming in 4 days will bring some new pvp stats, pvp armor, and pvp ruleset...looks promising.I jsut wish they sort out and tweak the class balance a bit more...

Hope they deliver what they promised..

 As for WAR, i think its another WoW clone,not just concerning graphic, but concernign Lore...elves dwarves, high elves,orcs, gnomes, and all sort of fairies,gremilins etc etc are just plain boring and out of date,at least for me...I jthink they are just too overused in every single RPG game...

I think WAR is a WoW-clone.  No innovation, very dull combat.  Not my cup of tea.

But for all you who actually believe 400,000 people play AoC -- You have GOT to be kidding.  Have you seen the servers? 

It's almost as depressing as SWG is, except you don't have empty player cities everywhere.

There used to be dozens and dozens of players in each instance, now it's hard to find a dozen players online.

This game is lucky to have 100,000 active players.  LUCKY.  Funcom should be forced to have an independent entity monitor their subscriber numbers.  They are publicly traded.  This should be done externally as subscriptions damn sure are something that investors deserve to know with 100% assurity.

Funcom clearly lied about it in the Q2 report and they will lie about it in the futre IF they even provide the numbers at all.

there is plenty to do. im having a good time with guildies who are similar levels. 

i really dont know what these haters are still doing here trolling the AOC forums.

one thing is liking 1 game, another is being delusional. You mention 2-3 m like it is a random easy to reach number. and even more quickly. honestly. do you know how many mmorpgs actually sustained more than 1 m subs for more than 2 months?

it will be very hard for any game to   beat wow in subs and players in the next years. war and  aoc even in perfect conditions will never reach even half the current player base of wow.

wow is a freak of nature.More than a game, it is a kind of social phenomenon.  it come out in a period of some economical stability and when the price of internet connections dropped enough to sustain massification of broad band aparatus. It also had like no real competition, so it stormed the market . yet Not even blizzard, or anyone,  ever expected wow to reach the subs it has. it was simply a noveltry that a pay per play game could reach 8 or 10 m. It still is.

More, blizzard's best ip is the name blizzard itself. they can put any decent game on the market and bang, there is 1 to 2 millions playing since it is a blizzard game. no questions asked. their reputation of quality, fun and working products assures sales/subs/players.  diablo 3 is going to be a good example of that.

will AOC grow? maybe. AOC has potential but will always be a niche game.FC also built it bad. the zoning in and out will always be a negative factor . the graphics are great but after 6 months or 12 months no one care about the graphics. they become like the wall on your room. you get acostumed to them being there.

will warhammer bomb? not really. in a way it is a massificed niche game also, that appeals to the massive zerg pvp audience.  i'm sure a lot will get burn bad since they have no ideia of what is a realm vs realm game. 

will wotlk get crazy sales? yes. the simple fact  wow has still at worst 6 m subs (i'm giveing free tha aoc and warhammer can get 3 to 4 m - what they dont have )  ensures wotlk will sell like 3 million units in less than 3 months, being them physical or digital downloads.  Blizzard just had to realease the "beta" patch in the public test servers 24 hours ago and already character copies delays exceeds 8 days.

Now I'm just asking, but wasn't this the same conversation people were having last week?  "The patch is due out this week.  I mean it's on test-live!"

A few honest questions, since I quit last month after being led on for two months for the "PvP patch".

1) Do memory leaks still exist?

2) Is PvP still a one-shot fest?

3) Will you still have 10k latency spikes?
