Originally posted by vernd This has already been answered on low population servers. The answer is this: PQs are mostly abandoned, and people will solo grind the first and possibly the second stage of each PQ in order to obtain influence rewards. As far as completing them, it's very rare unless you're in a guild that regularly runs a PQ group. Right now this is a phenomenon that is mostly occurring on low population realms, but it will spread to even the highest pop servers as the average character level rises and Tier 4 fills up. Majority of the action will be in the level 40 zones, and the lower areas will be largely abandoned, populated in off hours mostly by alts of high levels.
I don't think this will be as big a problem as you say. the early PQs can almost be soloed. I know i've soloed up to chapter... 3 or 4 stages 1 and 2 to PQs. sure, stage 3 I'll need a tank to help me, but thats 2 people doing a PQ.
even in tier 2 you can do a full PQ with 2-4 players, so when people are mostly in tier 4 you'll still be able to find that many people to do it. yes most of the action will be in tier 3/4, but there will still be alts aplenty and with only small groups required, it won't be impossible to find a group, just not as easy as it was the first weekend. From what I have gathered, both Hammerer and Choppas were really boring to play. They were the types of classes the used a lot of reaction abilities, like combos after parry and dodge. they grew in power the longer they fought. they didn't have a bunch of debuffs and positional attacks or special utility like the White Lion and Marauder. They were just boring. As for the kotbs, I have no clue why its not present. |

A lot of the PQ's up to chapter 6 are empty. I know that I grind the first 1-2 levels of the PQ then go do another quest and come back to the PQ when it was reset. It's not really very much fun. I don't think this would change if there was a tank. .. Also, the empire doesn't really need a tank for the first few PQ's. there are enough DPS classes so that a healing warrior priest can usually do the tanking.. while the DPS classes burn the monster down (Empire is amost an exact reflection dark elves.. One melee DPS class, one ranged paper class, and one hybrid melee healer).. However on the first PQ for elves.. you CANNOT use this strategy because the hero at the end of that one.. hits for 150+ and with 600HP (even 1k hp) you cannot get them done. If anything, the ELVES need a tank as does empire.. but to a lesser extend.. from a PQ perspective Oh, and I am more likely to play empire if they had a tank. I like the BW, and the WP for most of order (I also like the engineer, but he's a non factor now)..
ORDER NEEDS A TANK!!! Currently playing Real Life.. http://i36.tinypic.com/2uyod3k.gif For all your stalking needs.. |

I agree! Order does need more people to play TANKS.. I can understand why some people cant stand playing a Dwarf and a Elf as a tank. Come on MYTHIC, throw us ORDER peeps here a bone and bring back the Empire Tank! Pretty Please =) |

I second that emotion.
The empire seriously needs its own tank. IMHO there are no appealing tanks on the order side.
Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture. |

I third that emotion! Need the Knight. That would bring me from Destruction over to Order. |

I've seen Ironbreakers withstand tremendous punishment. They can do the tank job well. Not really convinced yet with Swordmasters towards tanking, even though I have one and specced towards defense / tanking. The lack of Empire tanks is glaringly awful. I'm sure it's worse in PvE than in RvR. In RvR, you can **hope** Swordmasters or Ironbreakers show up to tank. If not, then Order RvR with Empire will suck balls. BIG. In PvE, it would be worse for Empire players. There you're not going to find as much non-Empire toons, especially Swordmasters and Ironbreakers walking around in Empire PvE areas. "I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." *sigh* What you guys need to understand, is that Knight of the blazing sun was not intended to be the mirror of Chosen. Neither was Hammerer and Choppa intended to be mirrors. The mirrors are as follows:
Greenskin/High elf Squig Herder - Weaker shadow warrior (with pet) Shaman - Archmage Black orc - Swordmaster Choppa - Stronger white lion (without a pet)
Chaos/Dwarf Chosen - Ironbreaker Zealot - Runepriest Magus - Engineer Marauder - Hammerer
Dark Elf/Empire Disciple of Khaine - Warrior Priest Witch elf - Witch Hunter Sorceress - Bright wizard Black Guard - Knight of the blazing Sun
As you can see, the mirrors goes in a "circle". If each faction equalled their mirror, the circle would look like this: Empire fights Dwarves who fight High elf, who fight Empire. Or: Dark elves fight Chaos who fight Greenskin who fight Dark elves.
War is everywhere. |

Originally posted by Midori86 I don't think we were asking for a *mirror* of *anything*. The point we were attempting to make is that in PvE and starting EMPIRE PQ's having no tank seriously hinders/cripples us (empire-players). DPS is awesome to have, but without a tank you're going to go down pretty quick, Warrior Priest or not. And, seeing as how the early PQ's are near-empty, it's hard to find *large* groups to complete these. The need for numbers diminish big-time when there's a tank, dps, and priest in a group. The tank (with healer) makes all the difference. That's all we're saying. From what I've played of this game, I can say it has the potential to be one of the greatest MMO's ever made. But, there has to be balancing of every races' classes'. Ironbreakers are awesome...if you play dwarves. However, if you want to play a kick-ass damage-soaker-tank as Empire? Sorry, you're out of luck (and, let's not forget the Dark Elves). I just think it was a mistake to not allow one of each class in every starting area. As I said, this doesn't mean as much in later-game as it does in early/starting game, but it's still there. I just hope they add these 2 classes in for the Empire and Dark Elves. Peace. Good question. It's an emergency to do so: righht now there are a unbearable amount of black orcs and chosen because they look "cool", and much less Iron breaker and Swordmaster, giving destruction an upper hand in assaulting the ennemy. Not necessarily winning because the bright wizard power somehow balance this lack of tank; but somtimes it's frustrating to see 3 black orcs, 4 chosen and 2 marauder jump on the paper tanks, while the 2 iron breaker and the swordmaster helplessly chew at their ankles. |

Signed for this. Empire needs its tank. i don't want to play tank dressed ina skirt or look like a football rolling on ground in PVP and PVE. |

Originally posted by Kubush Yeah it sucks that the Knight of the Blazing Sun isn't in, but it will be eventually. You'll just have to play the other available tanks in the meantime. The Ironbreaker and Swordmaster are both tanks. The Ironbreaker is pretty much on par with the Black Orc and the Swordmaster is pretty much on par with the Chosen. The much coveted Knight of the Blazing Sun would probably have been on par with the dark elf Black Guard. The problem with Order is not that they don't have any tanks, it's just not the tank most want to play.
I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play. |
