MMORPG.com has time to remove annoying posters but not annoying ads. Which one gives them more money? I wonder if that has anything to do with it... |

Next turn off your monitor if you don't pop up ads or those annoying hyper neon flashing adds either. Maybe close your browser if you find something irritating on the internet.
Advertisements like this one are the reason people write ad blockers... which works directly against the very nature of websites like this one. What a vicious circle it is indeed.
All snarking aside, I couldn't figure out what that noise was. It was coming through like static while I was playing MP3's. Static on an MP3! Madness I tell you! Madness! |

Hello Guys, I am really sorry about this. Normally I have to approve ALL ads that go live here. I do not allow annoying ads like this and I strictly forbid the use of audio (unless it is user initiated and fitting, like playing a trailer). Apparently the advertiser had a "core" flash ad that was streaming in the meat of the ad from an outside source - something we allow, but we still require approval of all changes. Long story short, the ads are shutoff and the advertiser will need to comply before we can turn them back on. Again, I am very sorry and I think our long time members know this kind of advertising is not our style. - MMORPG.COM Staff - |

And you are correct, ad blockers are a major issue and will eventually result in a "paid" Internet much like cable TV. If you don't like a websites ad practices (we think ours are very polite) then stop visiting the website. Ad blockers are no different than stealing. - MMORPG.COM Staff - |

But.. let me say I strongly disagree on ad blockers being no different than stealing. |
