because in lord of the rings online the main focus is not only on war, fighting or combat... the new hobby system rules and especially for roleplayers who dont like to fight or quest all the time, its really refreshing and something else beside combat... (not to mention the amazing music system in lord of the rings online) if I played warhammer online yet? hell yeah, my beta client worked finally today after days, the game seems to be okay, but after 3 hours I wanted to login back to lord of the rings online again.. I played already minstrel, lore-master and weaponmaster and am having a blast with my today started guardian... I suggest everyone to give lord of the rings online ago, its really a great game... the only minus of lord of the rings online is the pvp, its not as deep as other mmos, but still okay.. just my 2 cents.

You are really trying to rouse the fanboys with that title aren't you? Seriously though, if you enjoy Lord of the Rings online go for it. I like RvR and am a HUGE fan of the Warhammer lore so that game is perfect for me.

I tried both games, and both games kept me entertained for the same small amount of time. I didn't find either game overly appealing. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

agree, Lotro is an imba game, and WAR? well, it is a "better" copy of WoW, with some improvements, but mainly things there are pretty the same |

now that you have told everyone what they where waiting to hear, Im sure LOTR sub numbers will jump thur the roof and WAR can just cancel launch. Do you get that your opionion belongs to you and only you? When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you. |

And if by music system you mean: load up script file and hit play, yeah pretty amazing. It used to be interesting, but too bad Turbine somehow even made a social music system ez-mode. |

How can you compare a game in Beta with a game that is finished. Even more, how is it comparable with a game of different concepts. LotRO is a PvE based game, with a controlled PvP. War is a PvP based game, that is still being prepared for release. While I do not intend on playing War, it is not a game to be said as better or worse. There will be plenty of people that play both of these games, and I am sure, they will enjoy them for their additions. |

Strangely enough - I see Warhammer as taking the only part of LotRO that was at all interesting and building a game around it. /shrug To each their own. I'm just glad I decided not to go for the lifetime membership. |

For PVE Ill agree LOTRO is a Great game. Loved its pve... however as a PVP game LOTRO is horrible. WAR far out classes it in the pvp genre.
So... if you want pve Do lotro, if you want pvp do WAR... pretty simple there. |

I also agree, Though I've spent a better part of 5 years playing pvp exclusive games like L:ineage 2 and Shadowbane, I am burned out of pwning noobs and find LotRO to be a great "game" that happens to be an mmorpg, with other gamers that are like me or at the same level of gaming that I'm at, and even the new to mmo game concpet players that play LotRO are pretty smart people. Every once in awhile you will find a lost "wow boy" and you need to point him back to WoW |

I played LOTRO for awhile and just got purely bored of it. It's a decent game with beautiful graphics in spots, but overall I find it boring and the community to be lacking a bit. |

Well no its not although its a good game and has things WAR doesn't have.
But as far as PvE I find it a little sad that WAR is releasing with FAR more character class customization than LOTRO has well after relase.
Triats are nice, but WAR has tactics/morale. In addition it has masteries and renown training (stat increases, resistance increases and various tactics ).
I am still subbed to LOTRO and I like it for what its worth but it is severly lacking in some important areas. |

A new hobby system? OP you mean FISHING right? hahahah.... really if you like LOTR its good but don't talk out of your ass please. Nothing is more bad than misinformation. It will only work against and not in favor of LOTR. |

To be sure Eve is the king of realistic wars. Who else has logistics? No one.
But Eve is not as robust as say Guild Wars in actual amount of action.
You can pretend that Eve is the best at everything PvP, but you would just be pretending. It can never be the best at everything. Part of what makes it king of realistic warfare is also what makes it unable to compete with other games in amount of action.
You can pretend that realistic warfare is the definition of PvP. But again you just be pretending. No where and no one who knows what they are talking about tries to say that. Because only some level people understand that a Person versus a person means exactly that. Warfare and matches etc are simply subsets of that larger set. And anyone who believes that simulated warfare is the most popular kind of Person versus person, whether in computer games or real life is fooling themselves. |

WAR is definitely a game geared toward the PvP'er But, LOTRO and WAR are both of the same mind numbing slow mo combat action of all DIKU based MMO's, with fetch this, kill 10 x of that... Slow, methodical and boring gameplay awaits. No one wants to move the genre ahead it seems. Everyone is scared of WoW, so they try their hardest to emulate, and never innovate. Sad world for MMO's *Boots up his Xbox 360 |

If you want PvE play LoTRO, if you want PvP play a FPS for free and save yourself 15 skins a month. Warhammer hurt my eyes. |
