Just playing War open beta, graphics are meh. gameplay is meh. Darkfall screenshots are better, War doesn't do full scene dynamic shadows for one thing :( Early days though, but they might as well have called it World of Warhammer, cause that's what it is. |

Yea...DF "looks" better because you can play screenshots instead of an actual existing game...right.

Having stared at DF screenies/videos for so long now I find the near compleye lack of dynamic shadows really jarring. The world looks fake. |

Because WAR doesn't have high rez textures in Open Beta...even a monkey could realize this. Seriously. Did you put Shadows on High Quality or Fastest Framerate? Pretty lame troll attempt. +1 for putting it in the DF forums though, lol. |

Agree. Warhammer is a really ugly game. Add WoW gameplay to that and you feel like puking. Have a niceone. Wow. It shames me to see just how far someone will go hating a game just because it's not their favorite. Too pathetic. On a more serious note, Warhammer has much better screenshots out and from what I've seen, better graphics, but then again it is far more polished so it makes sense. When you look at the effects in Darkfall, it makes my eyes sad to see such poorly rendered explosions...

What do you expect? The game hasn't even started beta yet. WAR has been in beta for god-knows-how-long, and it barely looks any better. If the particle effects and the animations in DF were brought up to par, it would look as good or better than the flat, lifeless graphics that WAR is sporting, now just days before release. ____________________________________________ |

Nothing good will come from this thread.... That being said, let me contribute to it and bump it of course. Ive been playing WAR OB, and you cant deny that it looks, feels, and "plays" exactly like WoW in terms of combat. Not a bad thing, I mean WoW perfected the EQ style gameplay. But its the same IP (i know WAR came first, but at the end of the day its the same), very similar UI, same target + hotbar spam combat. So you add up all of these things + the exact same artistic cartoony style (again not a bad thing) and its like playing WoW just with new classes. Now this isnt my review of WAR, cause I actually like a LOT of things the game is doing to differentiate itself and I think they do it well, but I kind of had to build that up to talk about the graphics. The graphics are "dated" just as much as Darkfall. Its the same as WoW which came out in 2003. Maybe a little smoother in some areas, but its the same concept. I obviously can't say DF's graphics are better, and sorry OP but you can't either since we havent played it yet. But I defintitely prefer "in my opinion" the realistic feel that DF goes for. I think that is a pretty fair way to put it, and certainly is more level headed than people making comments like "lol photoshop". Oh and a side note...the first response to this thread was ironically amazing. Pelu is one of the most intriguing posters on this forum in the sense that he is somewhere between troll and court jester with a mental disease. I can never tell if he is serious, but him calling OP a troll is amazing, especially since the other day he posted a picture of crap in the DF forum as a thread and it was quickly removed and I assume he got a temp ban. So yea back to WAR cause I am having some fun in the PVP stuff and PQs, and trying the different classes. LOL please by the time DARKFALL comes out it will be dated. They may say "I hate" lol hate look up the meaning, but hate warhammer but what will you be playing? WARHAMMER.. thats right they say they wont but they will. As for shadows in WAR I have to agree still to this day NO dynamic shadows yet you play Wowlk and you can turn on dynamic shadows through the console. . I will be playing it but man I really expected ALOT more. And if you played this last weekend (open beta) DONT expect ANYTHING newer than that.at launch. that is sad.. |

Why are you all complaining about the graphics. It was designed to have a low polygon count so we can have huge 100v100+ battles. If you want amazing graphics go play Conan, with there epic 10v10 5fps battles.

lol tbh I think there on a par with each other, ie crap, but fortunately both games will have some solid gameplay going for them. Have to say in terms of combat, which is my other gripe with Warhammer, it actually looks better than Darkfall, at least if the video was any indication. Thats leaving aside the ship battles in Darkfall. I just wish Mythic owned AoC, and then I wouldnt have to bother with either, as it stands RvR and public quests is keepign me occupied with WAR right now. |

And nothing wrong with every point of both.. they have just a completely different audience.. or are good for competely different things. End of this moronic comparisions. |
