Im sorry but I think you are wrong. I paid paid for a pre-order box from HMV that doesn't contain the game at all. The only thing that this contained was codes for a 'guaranteed open beta access' (quote from the box) and the live game headstart and the bonus items. If I cannot get into the open beta then I have been mislead into buying a product so I deserve compensation. |

but I am the idiot that fell for the hype and didn't get to play (so far only three days of waiting). Most of the hastle caused which you hear about on forums like days off work or hours of sitting by the computer cannot really be accounted for and so will go unrecognised. Doesn't mean it didn't happen and it certainly doesn't allow people to forget what happened just because at some time in the near future they might get to play the game. Look fact is Europeans got shafted and want GOA out - doesn't matter what anyone says, they know they paid for a deal that they have been cheated out of not because of circumstances out of anyones control, but because GOA failed to initiate Open Beta on EAMythics terms - lol - the same company that gave NA a flawless launch. GOA will swear that they were ready for launch but how could they have been? How can one side of the world be a perfect launch and the other side of the world still be validating beta keys some three days later? The discrepancy is huge. Fine, if GOA had a massive server burn out and told the community everyone would be like 'fine there is nothing you could do in that situation' but so far all we have heard is that they didn't expect such difficulties with a launch this big - or words to that effect. It isn't good enough yet. |

Well you still have a few days til beta is over, so they still hae time to get you in because unless i am mistaken does not guarentee first day access just that you will get in. |

Think we are looking at it from different angles. From what I get from what you've said, the registration process and then actual access to the game is part of the beta process. For me I view the registration for it and then the actual game as seperate. |

I think the more important question you should be demanding is a gurantee that the servers will be stable when the game goes live, or whatever is messing up the Euro logins right now. |

Hardy check any site that has a CE or preorder listed and it clearly states GUARANTEED open beta access
so people have effectively paid for beta
I preordered for guaranteed beta access because im still undecided on which class im rolling SW or DOK but now have refunds from D2D uk and bought 2 copies at d2d .com and am downloading the US client I have zero faith in the EU getting beta access at all. Now wont that be fun when the time comes that 1000s havnt got a sniff at beta despite a product clearly stating guaranteed open beta access, some retailers are in for a hiding to nothing and its all GOA's fault. |

You know I heard all of this back with Age of Catastrophy(Conan) and I'm just glad I bought SPORE to play while I wait on the silliness of OB to end and the LIVE game to start. You guys get upset and whine to each other, I'll be conquering the galaxy with my large bootied flying Squigglebop that is kewler than anything you could create. It meeps to me when I feed it....yay. |

I just wish - you should feel that you can say anything in a forum - i just wish that the EU WAR site that the entire community traverses to get their beta started included some useful, honest and timely information. Really they make them selves look so <Mod edit> by hiding behind false words and giving mere indications of what might be happening over there in the GOA HQ. |

Marks or IanC or anyone else has addressed jack shit since yesterday morning.
Safe in the knowledge at least the US servers are working and probably keeping schtum to get us all over there and profit in there hands rather than GOA. |

I paid my preorder from direct2drive.uk, and it specifically states that the product gives access to UK Open Beta. It's as clearly a part of my purchase as is the free 30 days of game time wich is also included. And as long Warhammer Online EU Open Beta servers deny my attempts to connect to them because I don't have valid username and password, I clearly don't have access to Open Beta. I'm just hoping that GOA will get their act together and give me the access soon. |

What we have here is a failure to communicate folks... EU players are angry coz they didnt get into the beta. Now gaming companies will always use betas as bait to get a good deal of preorders sold. In return for the faith showed by the customers they give their players a shot at the unfinished version of the game. Now if this crap happened to 10-20 people, it wouldnt be much of a problem. But pretty much the entire EU community got boned and everyones disappiontment snowballed into an avalanche. Now us americans instead of sympathizing with these guys, or atleast ignoring their "cancelled preorder" posts decide to pour salt into the wounds by saying stuff like "You europeans suck" or "iam glad iam not in europe". Poking fun at them isnt gonna change their mind or make them feel better. All this will do is make an outsider reading these boards think twice before buying this game with a community that does nothing but flame and bash each other. Your just gonna add to the bad press after the EU fiasco. Sadly though people here would rather put their foot in their mouth than keep it shut.

the Main issue i see is people are getting pissed because part of the pre order was getting into beta.
Somewhere down the line someone is thinking open beta = Freebe week
Yeah sry it doesnt. OPEN BETA is still a beta, a beta that is usually used to find stupud annoying bugs, anything server related and that goes for all the servers. WHAT YOU WHERE GIVEN is ACCESS TO a BETA! BETA IS USED FOR THESE ISSUES. Yes i would be somewhat pissed if i couldnt get in. But it is a beta, stop forgetting this, better now then when you are paying. yeah im in beta, am i playing it kinda, why you may ask, so i dont get burnt on my charicter, i used the time to find what i was going to play, while im doing this in a open beta im also stressing the server by being there, thus testing it and reporting bugs. So iv been playing spore, but man it isnt as great as it could of been.
