Age of Conan won its first fight against Warhammer. Start of open beta was epic fail (thanks to GOA).

Everyone still playing Failhammer Offline: Age of Registration (thanks and all credits to men in WAR forums who think it up) and even if there arent people on EU servers they crashed anyway.

In short start of WAR open beta showed us, that before people around WAR start giving advices ( http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/09/02/mythic-vp-on-hellgate-and-age-of-conan/ ), they should sort out own things!

Now I change my awatar to Failhammer and start bashing the game for no reasson on WAR forums, thats exactly what some people do here (check for Failcom avatars bellow ). No, dont worry, I am not that stupid (like some others, check for Failcom avatars below).

I am sure its not first win, but so far:

1 - 0

I would advice everyone to wait until release before passing judgement. Oh, and people should make their own minds instead of relying on unreliable sources.

yea im pretty confident that when AoC gets to beta, it will go a lot smoother than WAR.

As someone who plans on playing neither game in the near future I will say that Mythic has to slap their customers in the face 12-13 more times before they are in the same league as Failcom's incompetence.

But I can understand AoC fans being very happy to see WAR having problems - the exodus is only weeks away now...

This is where you fail? it`s not the game that has the problem it`s GOA? As you can see from the US beta everything is running great,the game is very good. It`s the GOA flash website that is the problem not the actual game.

Unlike AOCRAPMAN WAR is a very good game and even in beta it outshines AOCRAPMAN by a long shot.

You really need to get your facts right before you run that month of yours..lol AOC is EPIC FAIL.

I don't get it...

Just cause someone else shit also stink doesn't make your any better.  While I haven't even touches WAR yet, so I can't really judge it.  However, even if War does somehow failed, it doesn't mean people will magically start flocking back to AoC.

Folks,

So, while today has been incredibly stressful for our European brethren, I have lots of good news to share with all WAR fans. Here are the early results from the first day of our North American + Oceania Open Beta.

Incredibly stable game experience:
- 47K total users playing concurrently. We're not up to where DAoC was at peak yet but we're off to a good start eh? When Europe comes online we hope to shatter DAoC's numbers before we launch.

- 27 servers deployed and running smoothly. We have 23 servers in NA, 2 in OC and 2 more Test severs.

- Client CTD's are very low on average (lower than PW). However, some people seem to crash more often, primarily when exiting or entering scenarios but we're hot on the heels of this one.

- Zero, none, zilch Tier 1 region crashes since Open Beta started this morning at 7AM. No total server crashes either.

Lots of top reported issues already fixed with hot patches (no server reboot):
- PQ completion tuning. As always, tuning for now, subject to continued tuning.

- Loss of hot-bar abilities on leaving scenarios. Let us know if this still happens though.

- RvR equipment pricing, power and availability. Whoopsie. Well, something always goes unexpectedly wrong.

- Pet UI disappearing. Like we needed more pet issues? Luckily it has been resolved (we hope). Let us know if it happens again.

We've fixed several of the top reported issues and they will go in tomorrow morning's patch unless those damn Dwarfs start singing again:

- Continued improvements to monster "lagginess" when being hit by a ranged attack. Monsters will respond much more quickly to aggression. Ranged monsters won't constantly pause at odd times without attacking.

- Fixed an issue in seeing loot sparkles in RvR that were unlootable.

And thanks to everyone's help, we're hot on the heels of two more:

- Crashing when leaving scenarios.

- Unattackable monster states. Hopefully we'll get this one locked down soon, it really is a pain in the butt.

So, that's the quick update. Having almost 50K players in the game currently and no game crashes makes this quite a successful start to the Open Beta. We'll open more servers as necessary and continue looking at all the major issues. Please keep reporting bugs and answering surveys that's how we get some of our information.

The OP can spin this however he wants to, but it's pretty obvious that GOA screwed up what should have been a good day for EU players.  Meanwhile, the US experenced a very successful first day.  I played AoC for two months, and right now, even in Beta, Warhammer is so far ahead, it's amazing. 

AoC was released at least six months early, and it's unfortunate, because it could have been an amazing game.  Perhaps someday it will be.

Let's see if the game walks like the Marks and Pauls of this world talk.

My only gribe about WAR is the stupid "Target is not Attackable" bug while the "unattackable target" whoops the crap out of my toon.

Please compare Tortage to the current Warhammer beta.  Remember, that is the fair comparison since Warhammer is not letting you go past level 20.    I'm definitely no aoc fanboy... but Mythic is doing the exact same thing.. they are only allowing you to see a very VERY small portion of the game.

I think people who say " WOW needs some competition" are seeing exactly why WOW has 11M subscribers (5M in NA and Europe).  The game is done extremely well and is fun.   Players in the warhammer beta are ALREADY saying it is a grind just doing the same keep captures all the time.

Warhammer will kill AOC next week.  Then Lake Wintergrasp will 'kill' Warhammer in November.  By then players will be sick of doing nothing but the same keeps and scenerios and not having a real pve experience.

Ya see you were correct but then you had to proceed into the realm of being stupid yourself.

I've crapped on both of these games pretty equally but I like to pretend to have some logic.

Yes GOA screwed up but they've done that for DAoC through their entire history with it.

I actually logged back in today as I had taken a break from closed beta... took a couple hours to download and install.. was in game right after I patched no problems.. not a GOA customer obviously.

AoC wasn't crap... it launched in a reasonable state for a launched MMO (sad as that is.. its the average launch) then the developers found out about Meth/Crack and that was that... I quit at that point.

I wouldn't be bragging to much on the AoC epic fail line.. if WAR doesn't live up to EA's expectations.. (yours won't matter) when they got close to a BILLION dollars riding on the BioWare MMO... (ya they paid 860+ million for them.. ) you'll find out what epic fail is.

Karma.. when you toss crap one way.. its gonna come back at you.

WAR is ok.. its not great.. its not even innovative... in fact its a few steps down from DAoC...

but in todays market its a "good" game...

anyway the OP is off.. but so are a few people in this thread.. and to gloat about any game failing is stupid regardless.. the more games that fail.. the less investors will want to... invest.. which means less games... less innovation etc... you if you like games should want them all to be epic success.

Sadly flaming Fanboys cant use simple logic so somehow they think that GOA failing equals WAR failing. Their logic is...well it sure as hell isnt logic.
 

On a side not I bet GOA gets a nasty little talking to by the powers that be iver at WAR

I had no problems with Warhammer beta, I played the PW and now in the open beta.

I put $5 down at a local gamespot ( refundable if needed ). It was just a little confusing with setting up at the Account Management page, then on to File Planet page, but I have to say that I never read any directions (I winged it) and it was still not that bad.

Warhammer is great:

Found only 2 bugs so far. one bugged public quest, and chat box keeps keeps defaulting behind my action bar.

Other than above, it could be the Best mmo I had played to date.  Graphics are ok, but I never cared about graphics, and I can handle 200 people on my screen in RvR no problem.

Warhammer post seem very positive with some confusion with the set up.  But you have to understand most of America don't know how to save programs to disk. Ive seen this with every beta.

AoC is just a mess all around
