I have always read the constant war about this game, enough so that I didnt want to even read much about it. Why bother to care if the game prolly wont get released? Well I gotta say this video really blew me away. I def. think the animations need tweaking, but the game is still in closed beta. I have beta tested so many closed beta games I cant begin to tell you how polished this video is in game footage was. Now I am really hyped, they mean buisness. Little poll..

I remember seeing this game YEARS ago and I never gave it another thought until a few months ago and I started following it a bit more. And then to my surprise they actually release a video with 100% gameplay footage. I have to say I really enjoyed it and I am excited about getting my hands on Darkfall. I liked the style of the graphics, I didn't think they were bad at all. Infact I even burnt the video to DVD so I could watch it on a better screen (( I have a really crappy monitor lol )). One of my favourite scenes in that vid was what looked like a raft sailing down a river and on either side there were Npcs fishing just on sunset . Pretty cool ! I guess you could say I am hyped up.

This here is an example of someone who knows nothing about the difference between Graphics and Animation. -and is a bit too fast on the "troll" calls -Direct X 10 has no bearing on animations. -He commented that the "video" was not polished, is this so irritating to your views that you would call him a troll because of it? (I mean he didn't come out and say "Darkfall is vapor, or Darkfall sucks...". but then again I don't hold onto jaded views that everything is perfect) ========== I cant wait till Darkfall comes out -If it comes out- (Indy companies have a habit of being killed off sometimes -mostly due to bad managing of the funds-), But there hasn't been a decent sandbox since SWG (Before the CU and the NGE) and it really needs to be in the MMO light again (the sandbox game) And as excited as I am about Darkfall and what it could possibly bring to the table, I'm not wearing a pair of "rose tinted" glasses that make everything look perfect, because the last thing a game needs is a lack of criticism for its faults. (you cant improve a game if you think its perfect) |

He's not trolling, pls don't use this troll word so freely, just because other players don't see eye to eye to you.
The animation indeed sux! for this game. I truly hope they delay this game to polish up the graphics for their benefit. For yours also, unless you expect them to have only 1 server upon release. We are not asking for DX10 here, but that video cant even meet the current DX 9 standard!!!

Um yea when the guy takes someone elses comments and says you must be joking, you are wrong. And then does not offer any reason, just saying lol no you are wrong. It is not polisihed. It is the same as saying "lol vaporware nubs"...which is trolling. How hard is it to say...i saw the video and xxxx is not ready for release. But besides the animations, there is really nothing you can see in the game to suggest it needs polish. We didnt see the video from first person and we saw no game breaking bugs. Pretty straight forward. ---sig---

Sigh i know the difference between animations and graphics. Rubycat, You are wrong in everything you said. Why? Well aparently I dont need to give any support to my statements. See how that doesnt really work? All im saying is you need to offer some kind of discussion and support to have a valid arguement. Vote in polls if you dont want to. But when another poster makes a post in which he explains why he thinks a certain way...and someone else simply says no you are wrong...i "assure" you...and thats it??? Exactly what i said, no one also see that its ready for release... combat only hack and slash... caster only 1 range attack, graphic sux! for all etc.... i seriously done mean to bash this game that the dev will go broke, but at its current state, its cheating for them to release the game and ask the players to buy it. What happen to AoC should really be the end of gamers being lie by Dev!!!

I'll wait for player review before I even give DF a second thought. The video was meh. I expected to see game play of someone actually playing it, not staged 3rd person view battles. |

Don't mean to bash? Pretty sure there was a scene where a caster used 3 different attacks in the span of a few seconds. And we saw multiple spells used throughout the video including what looked like buffs. Combat is clearly not just hack and slash. You have fps style archery, over 500 spells, and yes melee attacks. Graphics did not suck, they just werent AoC or Crysis. Perfectly fine by todays standards. People bashed wow on its graphics remember....

You can't guarantee a game's overall readiness for release based on a developer-produced trailer. However, the fact that the core gameplay elements are obviously functional - PvP and PvE combat, crafting, city construction, sieges, naval combat, mounts, clan vaults, trading, etc. - bodes well. None of us will truly know whether Darkfall is ready for release until we try it. I can't wait. :)
