AoC is completely instanced and linear. So, unless they take it down, completely remove instancing and remove the linear progression, and then re-release, no they can't.
 

I disagree. It’s not linear, at least not any more than other MMO's, and over time this will also not be the case.

As far as the instancing, that’s rather subjective, and never bothered me at all. I enjoy the scripted encounters, and the ability to just switch instances if something is overly camped.

Some don't like instances, more power to them. That does not mean the game is bad, its just not your thing in that regard. Game have taken it the other way to, where everything was public.. I cant stand that myself. Go into dungeon, walk down the last boss, and stand inline behind the other 5 groups.

The graphics/art department/team at Funcom has never been the problem.  They are talented and any other company would love to have them (especially the stuff their Chinese team does...great stuff).

That being said the rest of the teams at Funcom (especially the game design team...the higher-ups) is atrocious.  The worst in the industry.

I would argue that judging from the tech forums, there are more people whom don't have an issue anymore (or no more than any other mmo) from the same people who had issues in the past. What about yourself? when was the last time you had a huge memory leak issue? A lot of people who still play that I have spoke to used to find it the worst thing ever and now, its "rare" at best if at all.

Would you not say the performance can visually seen to be better from launch to now? I would.

even a 6502 CPU can totally collapse any GPU, as the CPU can send very litte commands that may mean tons of work for the GPU

most games on most systems are GPU limited.  Conan is GPU limited and you can have a x4 faster CPU, and don't enhance the FPS but like a 2%.   This has been tested and proved, is a fact. 

 I'm not one to jump on a bandwagon. In fact, altough I've played quite a few MMO's, and more than my share of PC games, but I've never pre-ordered a game, ever. Some might call me a WoW fanboy, altough I quit playing month's ago and don't plan to go back. I loved the game, but not at first. Same goes for EQ1 and EQ2. 

But I tell you what, I have been silently waiting for WAR to come out, as usual not jumping on it's bandwagon before the game is even out. But I just took a closer look and goddamn this game looks like it is going to rock! I really think Mythic has a winner, and it's been a helluva a long time since I've anticipated a game this much.  I can't wait to roll a Goblin, the screenshots just look killer. I was really hoping WoW would have Gob's as a playable race in BC, and instead we got metro-sexual elves. WAR is gonna kick some ass!

Well my box reads "enhanced for DX 10"...  I am sure that gets them out of any legal binding issues concerning the fact that the game obviously did not launch supporting DX 10.

HOWEVER, I feel like they misled me by advertising a lot of features that simply were not present in the game I purchased.

In that way I feel Funcom stole my money, much in the way SOE has.

These companies are getting away with far too much abuse against the consumer and I hope the government wakes up and takes action.  Aoc is commerce on the federal level and when companies start to abuse interstate commerce, the government usually steps in. 

I could care less how good AoC looks in DX 10 at this point.  I was misled and I won't support a company that commits fraud against me.  I will never play another Funcom game again.

But again, DX10 really shouldn't be on their list at this point. My 2 cents though. 

They have to focus on the implementation of DX10, becaused they advertised it as "Optimized for DirectX 10" from the very beginning. If they don't bring it to the live servers really soon, they will be accused for false advertising and face legal pressure.

The problem being that the game is still a mess, with horrid gameplay and technical issues. Amazing graphics are great, but that doesn't make up for a bad game to begin with, especially one with the history of technical difficulties that AoC has. Given that the people at the helm seem to be relatively incapable of producing well-developed products without introducing deep design issues, I don't see how this is going to really pull AoC out of the gutter.

Bah fine let me say it. Game X Sucks (I guess it's the new AoC project? :P it sucks because...well I'm not going to say sucks...I'm going to use the word 'unsavoring'. It's unsavoring because it is incomplete. Company isn't paying enough attention to their customers. The Devs are not very helpful and...I can't think of anything to do, and I played a total of about 7hrs within my 2month time card.

So the new AoC Project (Game X Sucks) sucks because it's 'unsavoring'

You know, i know and everyone who has ever posted on MMORPG AOC forum knows that even if i give you 100 reasons why AOC sucks, it won't make any difference to you. And its not an assumption its a fact and you know it better than anyone else. Stop quoting ROC because it only brings out your ugly fanboy face.

Reasoning is done with those who are open to unbiased discussion. Unfortunately you are not one of them so i repeat again AOC is a bad and unfinished product backed up by equally bad an annoying management. Its not worth the money or time. And that's my personal opinion. I hope that BECAUSE is good enough for you. If you have any other advertisement to do for FUN COM trust me you would be better off at official boards. You act like as if you own this forum but you don't neither does you dear FUNCOM. This is MMORPG and i like the way it is. Don't try to turn it into a pathetic mirror image of official AOC boards.
