Definitly NOT promising. --------------------

Not at all. What they did was come up with a universally accepted character models and made a better WOW. Get it right. 1. Global server battles. They are opening up a special server battle system where you instance into a gigantic map like in WOW such as Alterac Valley for example but bigger. Your job is to work with your server and defeat the other people to gain control of special craft nodes that only can be obtained from server battles. Once you got them you can mine and gather these special things to create magic your server will only get and special crafting components to make good things. This will be so much fun. 2. Guild vs Guild wars. Real Guild Wars that will be done like battle grounds in WOW. Except you will battle the other guilds Keep or guild fortress to gain control of it. Once you defeat the other side you are declared winner and will get special things off the other guild that they may have via the guild vault etc. This has so many possibilities because we all know guilds fight each other on who is the best, now they have to prove it or shut up. 3. Fluent character animations and more quests in a single area then any other MMORPG ever released. Over 600 quests in one area with major updates and content that will continue to come over the months the game is released. 4. FTP and item mall. Except they are not offering item malls to over power people who pay versus those who do not. The object is to provide simple and fun (FLUFF) to those people who want to pay the item mall. 5. The game is built around needing help from others. Almost forcing interactions with others to do things. One class needs another class and so on to do well. This is a great idea because most MMORPG's become very boring quickly when so many people want to be the LONER and not group on content. This will keep close ties with people and help interactions and provide large communities of people all working together to make PVP interactions a better part of the game. Versus games where you only participate with no meaning. |

gotta say, when it sounds too good to be true.. it is. and when you say a game is F2P, better than P2P, without a horrible game-destroying item mall, gotta say I just can't believe that. Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats. |

Rune of Magic has slightly better textures. However, clearly, they got some of if not all of their graphical ideas from WoW.

So where does this game make its money to keep it up and running? Is it through special item purchases? No mmo's are free to run? Elder scrolls online: Voice your concerns here :http://www.zenimax.com/contact.php |

I believe through advertisements and partially item mall. However the item mall will not over power the buyers against non paying players which is great.

I dont know why people think that these f2p game come even close to any p2p game...they are really only good for a few weeks - month of playing before it gets boring. |

every game gets boring in time... unless is something you really enjoy.. and in that case you get tire of it... for some time, then return to it.. and tire and return and such... like me and GW |

I've played WoW for almost 2 years, and i have to say that this game looks very similar to WoW or looks like a copy when you see both, but Runes of Magic has so many things that WoW doesn't have, and i mean little details the game has and you only notice about them when you play the game which makes the game pretty good to be F2P. It's for sure a must try for all the F2P mmo players, i've tried the chinese version "Radiant Arcana" (i advice you to try it out if you wanna check how the game feels like, registering is very easy) and i was "impressed" since the game feels nice, polished and worth it to try it imo. It has loads of quests, at least on the early lvls (i haven't played so much the chinese version, just enough to check out a bit about the game). You add stats which makes your char at least a bit more customized. Character customization is "decent" aswell, you can even put little/giant head which made me laugh. Dual classes are a good feature, tho you can't level both at the same time, you have to go to a NPC and choose the class you want to be primary and that one will get the exp. Definitely this F2P seems promising, but lets see how the high end looks like since i don't know if it will have any PvE raids and such, or just another mindless leveling F2P. Those who didn't get into the CB and want to try it out...this is the chinese download page http://ra.moliyo.com/page/download.shtml Btw, P2P are not that good and i've tried a few...they usually are less "grindfest" with a bit more high end, but anyway they cut the "lvling grind" to make you grind the same raid/dungeon or whatever for mindless months...so it's about the same. You don't raid alone but with your guild/friends, the same goes to F2P games...you don't have to be alone...otherwise i think choosing to play a mmorpg is a bad idea ;) Regards. |
