To all the people comparing WoW vs. War: ----------------------------- Ted Treffon: I don't represent Hardbodies. Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either. |

After seeing it I think no one need to say any more. |

Love his explaination of WoW vs War, simple, straight and it allows little for the fanboi's of warcraft to criticize since it still places warcraft in its place of honor, while allowing warhammer to exist harmonously. Kudos |

It took me a long time to take to Mr. Barnett, but I can't help but respect the guy and after seeing this video, now more than ever.
Kudos. |

The Beatles were popular because they're good and WAR isn't led zeppelin because they were very different and playing WAR it's a very similar shitter version of WOW so they are infact The Monkees. |

That was a disgrace to Michael Jackson. WoW is more like Britney Spears or Hannah Montana trying to stay on the magazines, M.J at least knows how to stay away from the public hehe...
p.s: Britney Spears also produced quality pop one time. ----------------------------- Ted Treffon: I don't represent Hardbodies. Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either. |

WOW is more like Bruce Springsten.. continues to sell a ton of records whenever he wants. Warhammer is like like some garage band full of 14 year olds who haven't even been heard in public yet, let alone sold any albums.... but all their pimple-faced friends will tell you how great they are. As time has been going on, the beta reviews from Warhammer are getting more and more pessimistic. The early reviews were from people that were in the game in closed beta and were very close to the devs.. they had their prewritten 'reviews' all ready to flood everyone as soon as the NDA was lifted. Now that the average beta testers are getting in, the feedback is very 'blah'. Combat is bland, pve is non-existent (do mobs even fight back yet), no crafting, non-strategic combat.. just mindless zerging and zerging. 1M boxes sold, 500k subscribers after 3 months. Will clearly be the number 2 game, but a long shot away from being a peer with WOW at 11M subscribers (probably 12M when wraith launches). If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |

MUCH to much honor for a game which isn't even published yet and which doesn't have any staying power. Mythic (and EA) marketing startaegy is to have WAR = WOW with the development cost of 5% of Blizz. Cutting the cheapest way up to the ladder is makein WAR = WOW one word syntax. Foolish. Because in the end its the game players that decide.

600 K at hyped launch and dropping subs after 3 months... we've seen it all happen 10 times in these last 3 years. Staying power isn't there and you know it. personal attacks on Wow forums won't help a bit. It's the MMORPG that counts, not the personal attacks or insults.

Tell me, what is your great knowledge of the staying power of Warhammer? There isn't even an endgame yet. Beta testers are stuck in the first 15-30% of gameplay. If endgame is capturing the enemy's main capital..... what comes after that? You capture their city, and then 3 days later it resets? Games like WOW can add new areas, dungeons and zones that are more difficult to conquer than previous ones.. in Warhammer, the 'difficulty' will be just beating the same players over and over again. The fact that Warhammer hasn't lifted the NDA on it's endgame just shows how shallow it is. If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Really, from what I've played all T4 is in and the city raids, though a bit buggy & stiff. Work. In short, it's in a much better position than AoC when it hit release.
Negative. EU Guild testers got locked in to T4 about a month before the end of the CB. :)
Well you can level the same complain at WoW if you're looking for that jaded point of view. - YEAH we've cleared MC! Hell, lets level it at Halo 3's MP. That has millions of players but you're only running round a map using the same weapons all day. ;) Mythic can simply add more Lairs put back in the citys they have removed once they are up to the polish they desire (it's not like WoW you have to be able to fight in those streets too.)
They have, I don't know where you're getting all this incorrect info from! :s I realize I'm coming across as a bit of a fanboi, but that would be incorrect. I've played WoW for... pfft... 3 years? I've enjoyed the times I've had with it. I am looking forward to have a bash with WoTLK. But I can't help but come in to threads like this and correct those bashing WAR for faults that only exist in their mind! |

You see theres the problem really. Paul called WoW the Beattles. Gave his competetion the respect it deserved and showed that his game would be no less ground breaking and awesome. But you have to come in and start saying hes wrong WoW = MJ or BS. Coz clearly you know the game more than he does. Its trolls like you who need to shut up. Talking about WoW fanbois when you stoop to their level. Pot calling the kettle black much?

Seems you are reading different things than I do. All I am reading in the WAR forums here, is people not having so much fun playing playing a game since their first days of their first mmo and being very positive about the amazing gameplay, the fun RvR and public quests and high amount of polish it already has. I have read alot of reports and opinions on WAR as of yet and the vast majority is very, very positive. But to say that WAR will be a threat to the existance of WOW is just as unrealistic as dismissing this game as a failure after reading a few negative things amongst the overwhelming amount of positive feedback like you do. It will most probably get to be a very good game. Just like WOW is a very good game. I for one, welcome any kind of serious competition on the top mmo front since it stimulates companies to make their games better. In that regard it's also beneficial to avid WOW fans if WAR would dent WOW just a tiny bit. |
