First of all, I find it below subpar that someone with an official title can straightforward bash a game. It's fucking pathetic, really.
Anyway, I'll oppose your point:
They made an official contract with an actual publishing company. The publishing company has already released much of different material and didn't just appear out of nowhere. There are official press articles about it, too.
Now, how could a few random college students sign up a contract with a known publishing company?

All you need in any industry is to know people, how you think casino heist are pulled, it is worked from the inside. You know this guy, that guy knows this guy, and so on. Anyone can get anything they desire if they have the contacts.

I really don't understand how you are saying I am clearly bashing a game. How? Cause I don't believe the video is real game play? Am I wrong to express that opinion? Or trolling? I just think you guys have to say that like so often to stay sane, I don't know.

Gods & Heroes had publishing, even pre-order boxes, never made the light of day. So there is evidence #1.

You fans win today with a much more impressive video then I ever expected. I confess this as well.

But I am still skeptical that this small team has the resources, the knowledge, and the funds and everything else needed to actually produce a solid, smooth running game client. I hope to hell I am wrong, because it does look like a lot of fun, and I'd love to play a game that even delivered half of what it promises to bring to the table.

Welcome to the dark side, don't worry you're not the only one who's sceptical; DF fans are probably it's most harshest critics. And you are right the HD vid looks amazing compared to the youtube standard and high quality that most people watched.

My main problem with DF has to do with the direction the game took, it's this on again off again policy that Aventurine has. I would have liked if they went all out on the graphics and made them customized, there was no need in adding 2D objects and cutting textures when they could have just made the damn thing more customized; some textures look too blocky. But overall the world and scenary looks nice, half way decent but could have been phenomenal.

I am not a graphics whore by any means, the current stuff looks nice but it could have been phenomenal and not just good or okey.

Biggest worry is if they can put this all together and how it's going to work.

BTW I doubt the release is 2008, even though that's pretty much confirmed; I am well awere that they have a closed beta that has been going on since late 2006. I suspect 1 or 2nd quarter 2009 I made this prediction late 2007 and I am sticking by it.

Oh do tell what game elements were there?
I saw a Vista cursor, was that a game element?
I saw a screen of something flash at one point, was that a game element?
I saw a screen for crafting for one millisecond, was that a game element?
The point is all of those things could have been static graphics and have no functionality at all, one wonders since they showed them for split seconds and nothing more than that.
All I saw was animation, animation that 3d modeling college students can produce in Maya or 3dMax.

So, how would this heist exactly roll? Pre-orders, paying for the beta? I've stated a million times, that if they would do that, why would they even touch the subject?

I mean, they've said that you will be pretty much able to play the game before paying anything. Wouldn't be very wise, if they were planning a scam, now would it?
