Well I just cancelled my preorder for a multitude of reasons so here it goes:

First off I have been in the closed beta for quite some time now and from the time I played it I really couldn't get hooked.  I don't know what it is but I guess my type of game switched from fantasy to sci-fi since I have the urge to play SWG again for some very odd reason.

Now I'm a pretty big crafter in MMO's and this game just doesn't suit that need for me.  I know there needs to be balance between loot and crafted works but totally taking out weapon crafting and armor crafting just put a damper on the whole thing for me.  By no means am I QQing but just stating the fact that I like to craft more then potions and add-ons for sockets in weapons/armor.  (No, planting is not considered crafting for me.)

The two classes that I was planning on playing just really aren't doing it for me now.  I originally wanted to play the Chosen bu theres just something about it that is a turn off for me (I seriously can't find what I don't like about him.)  The Magus on the other hand is really the short end of the stick when it comes to ranged DPS, so that is also a bummer for me.  I also wanted to play the blackguard but we can all see that happening soon can't we?

Damn... I cancelled my CE too and now I m buying a SE and I deeply regret that I cancelled my CE...

... why ?. Because a friend offered me 200$ for it and it was too late. You should've wait and re-sell it, you would've make a nice profit, imo. TOO LATE ! ! !

I doubt you will be flamed man.  Honestly the reasons are kind of that the style of game you are looking for isn't WAR.  That isn't necessarily negativity towards WAR so I don't see how it would warrant flamed.

I love sci fi too.  I just am not a huge fan of Star Wars or Star Trek.  I loved SWG pre-cu though, and man I am anticipating Earthrise like a six year old anticipates Christmas. 

Either a game works for you or it doesn't.  There are hundreds of MMO's out there and most of us have only played a handful because only a handful appeals to us.  There is one out there that is for you, and a whole lot of great SciFi on the horizon.  Good luck man!

I mean,it's like saying I am not goign to play wow because I want to pilot a spaceship and be able to instill rocket launchers and stuff, and well, fire mages just aren't as close as small flying ships with lots of fire power as I hoped.

There's some changes in the pipes for Magus and their mirror, the Engineer, but you should do what you think is best. Maybe come back in a couple of months and see how the game's going, you might like it more.

To OP.  Not sure I would have cancelled a CE Pre-Order.  Even if you didn't play the game now or at launch.  You probably will get the urge down the road.  If that day never came, you could have also made a nice penny ebaying it.

Honestly, if crafting is one of the big things you like in an MMO, then WAR probably won't be your thing.  Crafting just isn't a priority for the target audience that Mythic is aiming at.  Regardless, I wish you well in finding a game that suits what you are looking for.

Old school SWG (even CURB) would be the game for you.  The crafting was AWESOME.

Im glad they have limited crafting in the way they have. Crafting RUINS ecomonies when it plays too big a role in Adventuring. crafting should never be a focus in an adventure game.

I applaud Warhammer for placing the focus back on the adventure and away from the crafter. You can never make a crafter happy without hindering the adventurer in some way and vice versa

Closest mmo I've seen with such a system is A Tale In The Desert.

Fun and unique in its own right but, definition of a niche game with few subscribers.

The OP's reasons are perfectly valid I don't see why anyone should feel the need to flame him or be rude *notices the first reply* 

I wish I'd ordered the CE, but there were none available by the time I knew that I wanted to play this game.

Fingers burned by AoC, I'm going to add this one to my list of reasons why I dislike Failcom.

No reason to flame someone just because the game isn't your cup-o-tea. I have to admit there's a part of me that likes to craft too. In EQ2 as mind numbing as it was to craft I actually got a provisioner up to 53, what can I say sometimes what may not seem so fun to some can be a good passtime for others. Also, I agree with other posts here, It would have probably been more profitable to Ebay that CE rather than cancelling it.

Hope you find another game that fits you.

I don't think you will be flamed...the War crowd seem alot more civil than some. If you want to see some major flaming/trolling try out the AoC Official Forum, if you say anything negative or if you just dont like the game those guys will throw gasoline on you and light the match.

Good points, Knight Hawk.  I wish you the best in SWG or any other game that you decide to play (Maybe Start Trek will be the one, once it release).

Anyway, is good that we all can tell people how the crafting in WAR is so no one feels missleaded.

Personally, I like they didnt put armor and weapon crafting, so gear is not key.  But I totally understand other people like to craft and that they may find other games more suited for them.

EDIT: PS. I dont see any reason why anyone shoudl falme you.  You just told us the reasons why you cancel a pre-order and you didnt say anything that may consider a lie.  You didnt say something like crafting sucks or the classes suck, etc.  You just said you wanted some different crafting, one with armor and weapon crafting (which is a total fact WAR dont have, and I hope it will never have) and you said you didnt like your the classes you wanted to play.  I think your post is not a troll one but someone sharing his opinions.
