When will we receive concrete news on the release of the PVP/Fugitive patch? What has prevented you guys from being upfront with us about the status of this update? I'm going to use Mythic as an example here. They've been pretty straight forward about everything they are doing. They offer constant updates to the community, covering everything from missing content to the status of core issues and timelines of when to expect fixes. Your employers on the other hand basically tell us to expect it when it's done, without really telling us the status of a feature or fix. For me this greatly wears on my interest in coming back. Should be interesting to see his response... If he gives one at all. The Mythic example, though, is dead-on. There's a contemporary of theirs doing exactly what people have been asking FC to do for months now; to be open, honest and accountable with the players about exactly where things stand and where they're going with it... in meaningful terms, not vague generalities and blatant omissions. Apparently, FC - even after they supposedly "realized their mistake" about underestimating the importance of communication with AO - still disregards just how important that is to their credibility and to players' confidence. Even if people still thought AoC blew chunks, they could still say "But at least FC is being honest with their players and not hiding from them". Yet, they just continue to keep doing it.

"When it's done" if only they'd adopted this philosophy BEFORE they launched the game....

Famine's answer to similar questions on the official forums has essentially been that he's a community manager and not a developer and can only pass on what the devs tell him. |

Seems to be their philosophy, their brandmark. On the other hand if they would have listed every single bit of content they announced and did not make it into the game or in some sort of crippled form - they would have never made the sales they did leaving them in a even worse situation than they are now. I guess. If you are not accustomed to eating kiwi, go slow at first. |

This is still pretty much correct. We did release info today on the updates tomorrow. We are shooting for more official information on the PvP update tomorrow or Friday. Glen ''Famine'' Swan |

I'm so glad that the response wasn't the least bit generic and answered all the questions that were posed. I am so happy i no longer have any concerns on the issue. |

Being as vague as humanly possible is a great way to insult and drive off remaining subscribers. You guys just don't learn, do you Famine? FC talks about how they've learned from AOs mistakes, yet here they are making nearly every one of them again with AoC, ruining an IP that clearly should have gone to a studio worth its salt instead of one with a history of piss poor development and customer service. You also might want to suggest that FC not send EE out to tell bold faced lies to press and community correspondents. He does the worst PR of anyone in the industry, and is single handedly making your company look even worse that it does on its own. Christ sakes, I mean the patch notes as a good example, vague garbage that looks to have been written by a fifteen year who cant even stutter half of it out in proper english. WAR has beta patch notes that are TEN TIMES as detailed as your post-launch notes, thats not a good sign for FunCom. Pathetic at the very least, you all should be ashamed with what you've created, its barely a shell of what it had a chance to be if an actual reputable studio had handled it. Give an amateur a contract, expect amateur results, as seen with AoC. You end up with a company that lets angst riddled teens moderate there official forum, some of who flamed the game within days of being made moderators, if thats not some of the least sound business thinking I've heard, then I just don't know what is. You are not saving money using those volunteers, they are ruining the already struggling reputation of your company. Take note and correct the problem before it gets worse. Rock a FailCom avatar now and express your disgust with pride! The truth hurts... |

Yea... i'd like a hey here are some things that have been happening in the testing heres where we are with projected update (Stating that it is very tentative). Anything is better than "Yea it's being tested enjoy the wait" i mean you'd think a company which is getting SUCH a bad rep for this sorta thing would try being OVERLY helpfull and open almost to the point of TOO much info. |

I think the failcom avatars are ridiculous. If you don't like AoC, fine, go play something else PLEASE. We really don't need another SWG where the trolls waste their time whining for years. Famine wasn't vague, most of the questions were answered in posts before, as he stated. The update is being tested NOW, and is going to be live within the next two days. How much more specific do you want him to be? Do you want when the patch is going to be up down to the second? well that's not going to happen, because if there was some sort of problem, you all would just whine more. Funcom messed up at launch, but I think they're doing the best they can. |

I kind of agree on the Failcom avatars, but thats their personal choice. My apathy comes from being in a guild that waited for the game 1 year prior to release, Fanboys we were sucking in everything Funcom told us. A years hard work diminished in little over two months of playing. People need to be told whats happening from the Devs. Even if its bad news. Mythic are doing this now and are getting praised for doing so. Hopefully Funcom have set a benchmark nobody else will follow. So I raise a glass to everyone that has complained on forums....because the gaming industry are starting to sit up and listen (well apart from Funcom). You can not ignore your customers and hope everything will turn out fine. |

Originally posted by Kataal I think the whiners against the failcom avatars are ridiculous. If you don't like to listen to the truth, then go read another forum PLEASE. We really don't need anymore complainers against the truth where the complainers waste their time complaining about individuals posting the truth. Famine was vague in that he didn't answer many of malickieboo's questions except with a canned deferred "more information tomorrow or Friday" response. All a lot of people on this forum really want is open communication with what is going on with the game, yet, at most, they get canned responses. Which is a black mark compared to how Mythic is handling WAR, which is coming out in a few weeks. Funcom did mess up at launch, but they screwed the game over with their continuous patches that made the game even more broken. Thus, failcom. |

I actually don't mind the avatars personally. If that's how you feel then I respect that. I know most of the information on the update is not exactly what everyone wants to hear right now. Like I said before on our forums, we are still testing and working out the kinks. When it's ready it will be ready. We want to ensure we take our time on it instead of rushing it to live. This is something that many players have voiced for us to do in relation to the updates and the timeframe in which they happen. The information is also in result of more information incomming in later this week. I just wanted to make sure I touched the topic on letting everyone know that we will have a follow up on the status.
