If this were the case, would you just play WAR or would you make/keep your DAoC account for WAR server downtimes and such? I love DAoC, but a lot of the problem for me has been cross-realming and low sever populations. Perhaps with some sort of deal as my title states, DAoC would atleast survive.

UO made people nervous, now it just makes them dress funny. |

I wouldn't play DAOC for free without some major changes (read reversions). Trammies need to stop polluting the MMORPG landscape. They already have enough games in which to emote hugs and sell garbage by the banks. |

By way of changes, I meant reversions to the way things were before all the geniuses at mythic decided to tinker with everything that was working, thereby breaking it, in order to string the user base along for more money. I'm planning on playing DAOC when the new server comes out so this would work for me. |

Well, aside from ToA expansion and cross-realming, I really don't see any tinkering that broke the game. So I guess if your having issues, than your having issues. I just can't stand ToA or cross-realming. |

Yes I would do this is a heartbeat. Especially if they ditched the cross-realming and I didn't have to play ToA. A deal like this would only help DAOC. |

The DAoC I feel in love with has been changed irreversibly. ToA and NF officially put a stake through the heart of DAoC. The other horrible expansions didn't help anything. The DAoC of today is worthless. No, I wouldn't pay 19.99 for both. I might sign on once a month if it was free with WAR. I seriously doubt it, though. |

I know I would.. DAoC has changed, but I still find it more fun than 95% off the MMO's out there. I'm STOKED about the new server and WAR. |

I m not sure where i saw it and if anyone has a link post it :) I remember reading an interview with MJ about this subject, and he said we haven t decided wether we will do this or not, but don t count it out in the future or something along those lines. I would do it with the new server because as much as i love WAR, DAOC was my first MMO and will never forget the fun i had in that game. |

Maybe they will eventually announce some kind of package deal, I would definitely pay for it... especially if they introduced an Origins server. |

This would be the only way I would play WAR... yes, you read that right. For all the whiney "mmo experts" who feel the need to complain about every change to every game... I have yet to play your awesome game that provides exactly what EVERY player wants. if "they" changed "your" game and you don't like the change you should tell the world about it because of course everyone cares about your opinion. It's so odd that the one thing that makes MMOs so great also make them suck... players. http://www.facebook.com/thejodygilbert |

Anyways sometimes your right....if we whine too much they nerf, if we wehine too little...that makes us whine more because there's lack of change...
Also, I'm sure they would make a package deal, like SOE did with their accounts. But I'm sure that'd be months to come. These games have to be out for awhile to make something like that. You're basically losing $5 each sub and only paying $5 more for two games...
And maybe we should somehow email this link to Mythic, this would be a good idea...but then they could just make them both $10mo. :p |

Your rant is so odd. Are you saying when someone is unhappy with the direction of a MMO they should just suck it up? Sorry, bud, but when they destroyed DAoC it just wasn't fun. Obviously most people agreed, since 45,000 users used to be on at once. RIght now there are 4500. You are in the minority, thank god. |

Thanks for making my point. Nobody listened to you then... nobody is now. Money speaks louder than words and I'm pretty sure the loss of that many paying players had a LOT more to do with any changes than irate video game players spamming random internet forums. It's a game... nothing more. Wasting your time bitching about a change to an online game is even more pathetic than the hours spent playing them. I would also like to thank your god that I am in the minority as well. If I don't enjoy something I move on. Don't let me put a dent in the non-stop whine making process tho, you're fighting the good fight... bud. http://www.facebook.com/thejodygilbert |

Not to interrupt Wales' worst troll but I'm afraid DAoC is one of the only games where I think the graphics are the biggest thing holding it back. I can't tell whats going in PvP and I was playing with my head inches from a large HDTV. I ordered the game after a fun first day but have never broken the seal on it. With a graphics revamp and packaged with WAR I would play but as EQ2 proves, its too hard to introduce people to a prequal as-is. -- |

I believe it still does armor and weapon wise, and even to an extent its sky, trees, and world itself, but it is starting to show its age. Dark Age of Camelot is one of the ONLY games where I'm able to actually see my character react from getting hit, or block, and know when to do my reactionary, without relying on floating text. |
