Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Preview Weekend > AoC and all other wannabe "WoW Killers"
EDIT: Wrath of the Lich King will accomplish gathering a few more people to come back, grind out an even longer 10 more levels, start completely over with their gear, becuase all the endless arena hours and battleground hours, and PvE raiding will be rendered useless. Once they do that, beat the new zone, realize it's the same damn game only with 10 more levels, a few more abilities, and one more class added, people will quickly get bored again, and start to look elsewhere for entertainment. Where better than a brand new successful game -- Warhammer Online

hehe After venting with this thread, I feel much better. But I will talk serious: It's amazing how people just reply to Thread titles or to the first or last posts... I always thought that was the main cause why threads get out of the initial subject that was discussed. Most people reading the first posts should understand that I was joking. Some did, most didn't. I had to say that when I was just waiting for silly discussions some people replied what I consider intelligent positions. One specially is the why to discuss this vs that game? The other point they made is having many MMO brings competition, which brings better service. Having options it's always the best anyone can have. I do think WAR will have many many people playing it. It will take some of the WoW players and it will leach from others MMO too. It wont kill WoW and, in the long term, it may even push Blizzard to improve the PvP in it. I was curious and I went to WoW forums in this site to see what was say there. I usually dont read or try to post in forums of game I dont play or want to play or in games I am not interested with, so I wasnt reading that post. But after seeing some many people bashing WAR and defending WoW in here and actually making serious WAR vs WoW posts, I wanted to check how the WoW MMORPG.com community was acting. So I went and read it. I, of course, found fanbois and trolls. Some people there is bashing WoW in the name of the WAR crusade, as some people in here do the opposite. But I found many people actually discussing in a mature way (Dam it! Arent you all 10 years kids, WoW players? hehehe... it seems you arent). I saw many threads discussing the impact of WAR on WoW there. I decided to continue trying to express my opinion in this forum on what WAR is and I will try not to bash WoW... I dont mean I bash it in here (this was a big joke as you can see in the OP post) but I did bash it in other posts when I said WoW PvP sucks (in resume). I would try to express my opinion as it should be: saying I dont like WoW PvP but not by bashing it. Why? Because all the people in WoW forums that actually discussed intelligent deserves respect for their game. I shouldnt had generalize the WoW community because a few trolls come here defending that game (which in the end I think they dont even know WoW neither). I really understood the mentality of these trolls when I saw the people in WoW forums bashing WoW and defending WAR like maniacs. So my apologies to the WoW community for mocking. I should had directly mocked the trolls and not the game they said they defend. I wish WoW and all MMOs, that exist and that may be release soon, the best. The more good MMOs we have, the best chances for getting some fun we have. PS. I think mmorpg mods should lock this thread... it's obviously a troll one hehe ;)

The truth is... We all can sit here and bash/praise WoW and WAR but it's all crap, the new game excitement always has people overlooking the truth about a game till it's time to start paying that monthly fee. I've been in beta for awhile and if anyone can honestly sit here and say WAR combat is smooth and polished should also throw in that WoW world pvp is awesome. |

Well it seems to me you're the on in denial...because JBB is one of the Beta Testers...where as as far as I can tell you're going on pure speculation...don't get me wrong I am going to try out WAR for myself...but my guess is IF Mythic treats it's customer base the way Funcom has it's customer base it doesn't matter how good or what the potential is...I mean they haven't even offered the Collector's Edition in the U.S. but it's available for Per-Order in Europe...it will fail...

Because, as I said, in my last post in this thread, the WoW community should not have their game bashed because some trolls use WoW to troll WAR. The WoW community is suffering the same as us: there are people in theri forum bashing WoW in the name of WAR. I should had done this vent thread not that WAR killing WoW... I should just mocked the trolls and leave any game out of it. For that I apiologize again to the WoW community. About the CE... what did you want to say? Asking because CE was offered in USA. Did you want to say they didnt offered it in Europe? You didnt make much sense. Mythic had been treating it's community extremely well, imo. Altough I know that Europe will be manage by GOA. Why are you supposing europeans will suffer something similar as Funcom did? Asking so you can explain it better because I hadnt been follow much of the Europe release (mainly becasue I wont play in euro servers so I dont care) but I think you should express any problem euro is having and maybe even create a thread (I mean post the problem in a serious thread and not in a comical one like this one I made). Btw, can you make your sign a little smaller? hehe it's tooooo big ;)

They have been the exact opposite of Funcom and have been extremely open with everything wrong with their game and what they plan on doing to fix it. You are also basing denial on JBB who, even though is a beta tester, is in the vast minority of beta testers who dislike the game. Hell there may only be one or two that troll around here compared to the hundreds who enjoy it.

In response to the OP, nice parody thread concept, but uncertain execution because you over estimated the level of Troll response, and under estimated the number of thoughtful responses you would receive. I was going to make a couple points, but one poster beat me to the World of Starcraft killing WoW serious analysis, and another poster beat me to the Hello Kitty Online killing WoW funny analysis. Personally I don't forsee any WoW killers in the current batch of MMORPGs on the immediate horizon, but I will be having fun playing WAR regardless. Enjoy. |
