There were 5 of us hacking on this black orc and he wouldn't drop. He got some heals but with 5 attackers, he should've went down. He was a twink. If it wasn't for this twink, we would've won the scenario. In after thought, we should've just ignored him. He was wearing reknown armor that you can purchase at level 10, it roughly triples your effectiveness over pvp armor. They said that gear doesn't matter in WAR? Don't believe it, gear matters a lot. So what if he'll level out of the bracket due to pvp experience? He'll just be replaced by another twink tomorrow. |

No worries, I would have ignored the big oaf as well. Or at least keep someone like that running after someone while you complete objectives. Gear does matter, just as it does in all MMOs |

Your tactic during that fight was wrong. You should have ignored him, because two-three healers can keep anyone up indefinately. Attack them instead. This is kind of what makes "tanks" so fun in this game is that it does get hard to ZERG them when they have adequate support. It truly makes the Chosen/Black Orc "shine" as large pillars of death and destruction. This game requires you to think about your targets. |

Not a real twink. Real twinks have gear they can't get at their level. His gear is got through PQs or RvR renown rank. He can't stay in that scenerio forever. Real twinks in WoW STAY in the scenerio until they max their rank/whatever to get the high level purples/reds or whatever color WoW has now. What I'm afraid of is people hitting level 11 then heading to the Scenerios.. instead of doing them throughout.. so that everyone can play... instead of just the level 11s. However, I wouldn't mind seeing everyone bumped up to level 11 for scenerios instead of 8. Currently playing Real Life.. http://i36.tinypic.com/2uyod3k.gif For all your stalking needs.. |

So there goes the idea that gear doesn't matter... |

Ugh, OP don't bitch and moan when you have no clue what you're talking about. PW did not have ANY twinks; the servers were brand new for the weekend. The gear they got was from Realm Rank gear -- ANYONE gets this gear VERY easily. All you have to do to get to RR6 is do about 5 scenarios visit a war camp and buy a whole suit of gear. it costs about 50S for a whole suit with full accessories.
Tanks in RR6+ gear are generally considered over powered in T1 scenarios which is why you're crying 'OMG TWINKZ0RZ R OP!!'. Supposedly it levels out later on. |

All it takes to keep a tank alive is 2 good healers, besides in the scenarios it buffs all players to a lvl on the 8's (8,18,28...etc.) So your basic and ability attacks are on the level with his toughness and wounds. Oh yeah and Black Orcs get an ability called "Save the Runt's" when they use it on a defensive target it splits damage between them and works up to 30 yds so if other tanks had him targeted with that ability you'd only be doing half damage to him. |

Its going to happen, and you know what. you will beable to do the same thing when your level 10. Its a normal process. Its honestly something that isnt even worth bitching about. Not to mention gear gets less important as you get higher. It saddens me that so many people are judging the entire game, combat system and everything WAR is about on 10 levels or less. Obviously PQs are going to be over run when you got 100s of people starting the game. I was on my 18 Iron Breaker last night and i couldnt find a soul to help do the PQs in my level range. Once things are spread out it wont be so bad. |

I've only had problems with tanks when they have support or I'm much lower than them. Equal footing with no support usually equals a dead tank against the witch hunter I played or really close. I'm also not dumb enough to concentrate on kills over taking points. I lost more scenarios & open rvr areas due to people worrying about zerging off after some kills instead of protecting the point they freed. Gear is important but a lvl 10 having proper Tier'd gear for RvR doesn't make him indestructiable he most likely had several buffs & healers on him or potions. 5 people should of been able to take him. Pissed me off royally last night to spend an hour fighting up hill then back down again and up and down and finally getting to the Open World control point, taking down the pc's & the hero mob only to have the whole warband except 3 people leave before the 2 min defend counter ended. We got zerged and never managed to take control of the point. Had nothing to do with gear it was all about poor choices on the field. |

It doesn't matter that much, compared to other games. If they would change the gear to renown rank 6 and rank 12, then the fights would be more balanced in scenario. nom nom nom |

Twink is the right term. He was exactly like twinks you encounter in WoW, having 3 times the health and doing a bunch of damage. Everyone can buy this gear if you have enough money and if you find a friendly keep. Will most people have it? No. There will be one or two twinks who will rule over the scenario just like in WoW. Can it be fixed? Yes, don't sell reknown equipment or make it purchasable at lvl 12. But it's a problem right now. Who ever said gear doesn't matter in this game wasn't being truthful. |

Sadly I have to agree with this, it is worrying to me. When I saw an Level 11 guy in scenarios, I just avoided them or ran away. I was level 8-9 for a lot of my playing and the 11 guys had renoun gear that makes them much better. When I got to level 10 I ran as fast as I could and bought most of the pieces of gear, all which were much much better than everything I had. Only reason I didn't buy it all was because I didn't have enough gold because I wasted money learning how the crafting worked. Which as an after though, renoun gear >>>> crafting a potion. I mean its nice level 4 people can play and get upgraded to level 8-9, but with level 11 people in there too, there is no contest. And its not even a twink is the worst part. Everyone can get that gear at level 10 with renoun rank 6. Which basically makes it like WoW, where you have to be level 29 to do the BG for 20-29 areas... in order to compete anyways. |

Thats not a twink. He was simply wearing Renown rank 6 armor that he bought from an NPC vendor. I know....I played a Chosen in rank 6 renown armor. I took out about 7 of those tiny dwarves before they got me lol. When other tanks(and all the rest of the classes) figure out they can buy that armor rather than doing public quests all the time, then the battlefield will be even. About 80% of everyone I ran into had no idea you could buy that armor so early in the game (and its not expensive...5 silver a piece) |

You can definitely get Keep gear at level 10 with RR6. I sure seems like Tier 2 gear but you can use it in Tier 1 scenerios so lets keep facts, facts. |

The whole reason to play at lvl 1 - 8 in the scenarios is to gain RP you dont' have to be successful at getting kills just helping to defend. The earlyer you gain Renown Points the faster you can become viable & buy Renown Gear from the vendors. People really don't seem to understand this. When your lower level make your job defending more than Killing, defend the points that People take because most dumbass pugs just take the point & leave it making it impossible to win scenarios. |

My armor. Paid a total of 78 silver for all pieces. Axe was a loot bag drop for a public Quest. And no ....its not twink armor as its available to ANYONE who does a few RvR missions.

I had a Chosen in RvR gear and he was the only character I played all weekend. How is that a twink? I worked hard and earned the right to purchase that gear with money I made selling items to the vendor plus the Reknown Rank I earned. A twink is a low level character that is given gear from a higher level character, usually from the same account/guild. Also, even being level 11 in the lower RvR areas, I died several times due to BWs standing back blasting me with virtually no healing support. What was funny is I must of dinged 12 right before I died once and when I tried to re-enter the area, it turned me into a chicken! That was hilarious! |

Renown gear is actually pretty cheap and it's only green gear, it's perfectly matched for his rank. asides from a little more armor it's really not that much better than the stuff you'd get from a PQ or mob drop. |

There are some people who misunderstands the word twink. I was a chosen as well and worked my ass off to get that armor. I worked for it, i paid for it with my own few pieces of money I had. That isnt a twink. As you said, a twink is someone with a main who has tons of gold whjo buys nothing but blue and purple gear for themselves. However, we got our armor from an NPC merchant that is available to ANYONE who did what we did to get it. |
