Is there any period at all during combat when my char will be standing still doing nothing, or does he progress into a new attack immideatly after finishing an old one? Just say 'yes' or 'no'. I don't care if you have to spam special abilities or if autoattack can do the job alone, I want to know if battle is seamless, because I've seen videos where people engaged in staring contests with the occasional slap and it looked awful - then someone said it was fixed and then someone said it's still there. Confirmation please. Don't want to get my hopes up for nothing. |

I would say "No" in that you are not standing around with your thumb up your ass, but I would say Yes in the fact that fights last longer than most MMO's as there does not seem to be any 1-2 shotting people. |

The pace of combat is just like any other MMO. You start with only a few abilities so expect your combat to be rather slow at first, but once you reach higher levels and have more spells it will naturally be faster. So yes, there is a period when your character will be standing rather still only tossing out a few abilities. Good luck finding another game. STOP WHINING! |

I see. I'll assume the stale, old combat videos are still true for the current state then. Thanks :( |

Look at it in the bright way: You can watch a movie in the background and still get the rewards.

Interesting point of view, heheh. I think I'd prefer a singleplayer instead then though :P but that's not really what this was about. |

Aaah.. I don't know why someone would make it work that way, but I now I at least understand what I'm seeing. So everything stops for 2secs after any special skill, eh? That's sort of... unconventional. Have they explained why they've made it that way? |

I guess I must really come from a different breed of gamer or something... The fighting in WAR seems fine to me, and this is from someone who's played Lineage 2, where the fighting can look like you're playing on fast-forward at times. Like...easily 2 swings per second fast. Is a second or two really *that* big a deal? Do fights have to go by *that* fast? Are attention spans really *that* short? Geeze. Tough crowd. |

Probably so that fighting is a little more than a button-smashing spam-fest and actually has some pacing would be my guess. Dunno.. fighting's gotten pretty frantic for me at times, despite the cool-downs. Though the average fight takes about 10 seconds against an equally matched enemy. That does not seem "OMG Terrible" to me. But again... I guess I'm just from a different mold or something.

The attacks could do 0.5 pts of damage for all the matters, as long as it kept him looking busy. I'm trying to come up with a comparison, but I can only think about chess; It's like a chess match where the game itself may be full of skill, but it's not exactly exciting to watch between moves. I think it's nice that you don't have that problem, but do you get where I'm coming from? |

Hmm.. I have gotten normal attacks in-between special attacks. I think it's a question of timing. But even then, you attack - at the worst - once every 2 seconds if you only had special skills to use. I'm sitting here counting to myself right now.. "1... 2... swing... 1... 2... swing..." Considering how much damage any one attack can do, it just doesn't seem at all unbearable to me. -shrug- |

Slow AND unresponsive. You want to hit, but the only thing you see on screen is : "not available yet" "not availabel yet" "not available yet" The fans call it more strategic. Guess why they are called fans. |

Yes, because you're repeatedly bashing the buttons before the abilities are ready... That's called a "cool down". You expect the abilities to work anyway? |

The comabt is not slow. Plus, just because there isn't an animation, doesn't mean he's not swinging. Sometimes the animations for hte auto-attack get in the way of the skills, and during the 2 second cool-down you ARE attacking, but it's just not swinging. I think they're fixing that. Really, as a witch hunter, I had no problems with combat. It was fast and fun. It's not skill spamming, but it's still good times. |
