"This Space For Rent"

What's "Your class" going to be?

For me, having been up all night in beta and trying several of the races/classes... So far, I have to say I think it's going to be Squig Herder...

I'm not usually one to play a "goblin" or "orc" type character... usually Elves for me.

But the first sight of that beach-ball with legs and a mouth bouncing along behind me, and I was hooked. I would just run in some random direction and stop just to watch the thing happily bounding along in a zig-zag to catch up. Watching them fight is a trip as well. I'm a huge fan of quirky, off-the-wall things, and that class seems to fit the bill perfectly.

And if you can eventually ridea round inside them, like in the newest cinematic, and as I believe was mentioned some time back.... Just sounds like "F-U-N" to me.

Although the Dark Elf dagger class (forget the name atm... sleep deprivation setting in I think) seems pretty fun as well.

Funny thing is... I've been in this ultra jaded mode with MMOs lately. I've been feeling that the genre, as a whole, is rapidly going downhill, and I've been playing more single player games, etc. So, it's not that I had low expectations that were easy to meet... I just wasn't really committed to liking it or disliking it. I'd said I would check it out and so I did.

I just happened to find a class that I'm having a helluva lot of fun with so far.

Squigg herder from what I played was useless in RVR and the pet is really hard to use in mass crowded RVR as its very hard to see where it is and if its actually attacking the target which often I found that it got stuck. Also what i hated is the pet would often vanish and then suddenly appear by your side and its like erm? See the problem with WAR is the combat range is too far and needs to be alot closer like WOW's is and it seems to me the whole pet thing is balanced for the range of combat you'll be having.

Another problem with WAR is theres too many bland boring classes. with WOW you had 9 unique and very fun classes and there was something for everyone and it was really easy to know what you want to play from the get go because a mage is a mage and a priest is a priest. There wasn't 20 odd classes of blandeness making it very hard to decide what you want to do and most of the classes in the archetypes end up playing the same or are just not very fun.

They just need to make the unique from eachother and fun, now i don't mind classes between order and destruction being similar but the ones on the same side need to all be different from eachother.

WOW has fantastic fun classes which are justa ll amazingly fun to play and I havn't played another class based mmorpg which has come close to the fun of them. Usually they try to go for quantity over quality and it just doesn't work like with WAR and DAOC and EQ2.

The true character of a man can be seen when they are given power.

I like the White Lion class for similar reasons, but after playing for some time i have come to realize that the pets are really bugged, especially the lion, so i will using a maurauder for the time being.  Game is playable atm but thet are quite a few bugs.

I'm an alt-a-holic, so I'll have multiple mains. Right now, in order of preference -

1. Black Orc

2. War Priest

3. Squig Herder

4. Magus

I haven't tried all the classes yet, but I'm getting close. I thought I'd like the white lion, but the lion is so freakin' bugged I couldn't handle playing it. The lion rarely attacked what I told it to and rarely followed me. I think it'll be cool once it works as intended, but right now, uhg.
