I am here asking for ppl in beta to give me a sense of how bad the looting system is. It sounds like this is going to be another game that I really like and want to play but will not because I refuse to group. I have dealt with ninja-looting in too many parties in games. I enjoyed EQ and EQOA and had it happen too many times. This is the one system that I wish would disappear from these games. I have read that there is a round robin and FFA choice for loot but does not apply to Boss loot. That does not sound like a very good system. That system makes me worried about dealing with what I consider jerks. Will this be another game that if I play then will mainly be soloing? I am kinda tired of not wanting to group because of ppl taking all the loot. I don't like to farm. I never really had fun doing such things. I prefer playing and having fun. If something good comes up, everyone has a chance to get it if they want. DAoC is the game I have liked the best and the only reason I am not playing it is my system can't keep up. I will be getting a new computer and it should have no problem with WoW but I figure that since it won't be top of the line then DAoC will outgraphic it again quickly.

I think I answered that correctly, this has been addressed before but it's been a while so I'll do my best here. From what I understand if you attack a mob in WoW itis yours and no one can steal it from you. If you are in a group you have one of three choices, to how the loot is distributed, from the web site. How will you prevent camping and kill stealing? How do you prevent camping and kill stealing in non-instanced areas?

you just have to worry about ninjalooters in your group. team up with caution, and check out NINJALOOTER.COM to see who known ninjalooters are.

Thanks for the response. I have read though about ppl not knowing that Boss looting is not covered by round robin and is a FFA. I read about ppl having someone loot those bodies before anything could be done and one guy did not know that Boss bodies are FFA so grabbed a Bind on touch ring. That is what worries me. Sounds like the round robin works well otherwise. |

be sure to talk it out in advance then to prevent "noob" looting.

Looting shouldnt be a problem in WoW. With instancing, tapping, and group loot options, there are plenty of ways to secure your loot fair and square. -------------------------------------- |

That is why I posted this, Annekynn. I read that Boss loot is not included in loot options and is FFA. That means some of the things dropped by them could end up not be fairly split. Someone could just run up and grab the loot. If Bosses (including mini-bosses) don't drop anything that normal mobs can drop then not a problem. If they do though, then it sounds like it could make it very irritating to some ppl. I have dealt with enough ppl to know that Bosses are what ppl will rush to loot. I have clicked to see the stuff before if close enough but I don't try and be first to the corpse. I like seeing the stuff even if I can't use. That is what I like about the menu in WoW. There is a slot for items that are not to be traded. I figure that will allow it easier to show off nice things. |

I really hope it's not abused. It wasn't that bad for me on EQOA. I put a lot of trust into healers to "Master" loot, since I was tank and needed money for repairs. Never had a problem with people looting then leaving, or looting then logging. Towards the end of my playing time there, we wouldn't even loot rares if it was for another class. I'll probably be playing with friends from www.mofogamers.com (shameless plugging), but they're not always gonna be on, and I'll want to group. I plan on being able to trust people. But...
