Cynical? Me? Never. |
How do this work, exactly? Do you have to have the quest? Does everyone in the zone that have the quest get credit? How do you know when you're on a PQ? |

You enter an area, and it tells you that it is a Public Questing area, and tells you what the objectives are, and how far along they are. You can chose to participate, or ignore the Public Quests and do your own thing. If you help out, the game keeps track of how much you contribute (be it healing or damage done) and if the quest is completed (each one has three sections), then you are given a bonus to your roll. Everyone rolls a 1000 Dice basically, the higher your roll, the better chance of getting better loot. The more you contributed to the Quest, the bigger bonus you get to your roll. But you can come in 1st place for contributing, and be in last place for your roll if your roll is REALLY crappy. And the rewards are on par with the best quest rewards, and the PQ rewards are tailored to your class and profession, so you won't ever get just utter crap like some quests. And you always have the option of taking cash instead. |

PQ areas are also very good to farm influcence ( faction?), once you have enough influcence, you are rewarded with items, good items. Even If you get zero rewards with the PQ, killing stuff on the PQ will help you get enough influence. Theres 3 levels of influence. On the first you get a consumable, with the 2th a good item, and with the 3th another good item. PQ's are also very fun, as are highly scripted. Have a "raid pve" feel to it. |

Loot is random and has nothing to do with your contribution. If that was the case guilds could team up and farm PQ's for loot, which is not possible with the current system. However you cannot just stand there and do nothing, you have to contribute to be eligible. |
